In addition to the buffs it received they should have also cut the aimtime by a bit. 230 alpha is already the lowest so the gun should have a quick target acquisition to make up for it.

Fv4202 is officially "the 279e killer"

This tank made me tens of millions of credits and has a special place in my heart. I got this tank as a gift from a friend when I was a free to play player and loved it so much that I played 400+ games with it. We're talking back in the day when CDC was concidered a good tank in hands of a skilled player and the only t8 premium mediums you could choose from were CDC, STA-2, Superpershing, Panther 8,8, T-34-3, Revalorise, FV4202 and T-54 mod. 1 (also type 59 and lorraine 40t but they were not for sale). The FV was an all rounder and felt great, but has fallen down since release of flat out better tanks, sadly. Even I don't play it now that I own stuff like bissonte and much better tanks, but back in the day it stood ground like an anchor and I was the proudest FV player on the server

I would suggest getting the Centurion 5/1 over this. That tank has a reliable turret.

I bought it and I like it a lot , the armor is not reliable but can save you in a lot of situation. especially in hulldown when only the turret can be seen. so when against tier 10 you do sniping (gun handling is okay) and when against tier 7 and tier 8 you can play hulldown and frontline (agressive). Its a pretty consistent tank, never crazy but very consistent

I still have a ton of rental games left on this tank, so I'm glad that they buffed the gun handling and the dpm. It seems like it's not really that horrible anymore. I never had trouble with it even before the last few buffs, but it's certainly never been a very good tank, and there has been SERIOUS power creep among medium tanks over the past few years, especially the premium ones.

I love it! It's terrible but I love me some prius gameplay! Absolutely would not recommend it to anyone ever but for whatever reason I find myself enjoying it and its complete lack of strengths, I feel so accomplished whenever I have decent results in it. 2K feels like a major accomplishment!

This was my first premium tank in 2017. I had some good games in it. In one game i blocked 6.8k dmg and in another one i made my first 7 kills game. It was an ok tank. With the meta today, this tank is useless unless you are in a tier 6 matchmaking.

I have the same problem with Type 59. In a T9 match if you hit someone with 190 dmg basically nobody cares and rush you anyway. Nowadays these alpha dmgs are very low. Nearly light tank level.

They should also remove that stupid ring between the turet and hull. There is no stupid ring in reality, and tank has large week spot (on top of week armor). It was my fist premium, and aim and reload time was stupidly long. Good thing they updated it a little bit, but it should have needed more, and they forgot terain resistance, it kills this tank.

Guys does anyone have problem with autoaim and locking the gun in one position by holding right click? Each time I hold right click and move mouse, my gun also moves. Tried with resetting of controls but still nothing. Btw mouse is working perfectly fine with all other programs etc. I noticed this happened after a small update 3 weeks ago. Pls help.

CLASSIC ! nest to the CDC one of the old school prems that dominated the game 7/8 years ago....... Agree would much rather drive my Lis or Bourrasque now but still drive the 4202 on occasion.

Gun has already good accuracy but bad gun handling so why no Vert Stab over the aiming unit?

Oh goodie, i was just looking at my own 4202 and noticing how it now has a spotrange of 495, which is a very nice amount. So, the tank is basically a slow and large light tank now. ^_^ Huh, i just checked and i actually have a Heavy calibre medal with mine. *considering replacing VSTAB with either IAD or something additional for spotting/camo* *also potential option of replacing optics with binoculars and get immobile spotrange in the 540s...* *or optics with IAD???* Light tanks spotrange are really starting to become a bit of a joke though... So many mediums and heavies with better base spotrange now that it's easy to build a recon variant of them that can outspot lights... And often hard to achieve a really good spotting build for a tier 8 light.

On console this tank is a t10 and is a war machine, I have it gold marked I love it so much

The buffs definitely helped this tank out. With vents, rammer, and vertical stabilizer the gun handling felt way better. Of course the drawback is its alpha, if it can somehow go up to at least 250 in my opinion that would make it more playable. In all honesty though I'd prefer to play the CDC, I've been having better games in it over this one.

The fv4202 has the same problem as any other centurion. Its a huge target with little to no armor. Its not fast enough to run from other mediums and it does not have the dpm or alpha to win 1 on 1 engagements. Autoloaders will bust it down and other mediums with 300 to 400 alpha will out trade it. Hard tank to play.

Am I the only one in the world who had fun playing this tank in frontline? Like I was cracking 7k damage each time I spawn it

If you compare this tanks gun to gun on kpz 07 you will realize how underpowered this thing is. For having one of the lowest alpha on a t8 medium you have basically nothing to make up for it. Gun handling is average at best, dpm is mediocre even after the buff, and the gold pen does not work well against higher tiers. On top of that the armor is very inconsistent and speed is average. Instead of being a “jack of all trades” tank this tank is more like the “master of none”

They buffed this tank so many times, it is still barely playable

The FV4202 is my most played tank. I've said it before, and I stand by it, I have a soft spot the weirdest tanks. That said, personally, do I like this tank? Sort of? It's basically a crap Centurion, but it was the Centurion Premium before we had like three of them in the game all of sudden. The gun is the same 20pdr gun in terms of pen, it has decent accuracy, and after everyone collectively smacked WG to the back of the head about its intended horrible mobility, that was pretty okay. The only thing that made me REEEEE about it, was that for whatever reason it had a slower reload than the Centurion, despite having the Type B-barrel (which is only different from type A by the way of a FASTER reload...). Now, finally, that's fixed. I'll have to give the old girl spin one of these days. Would I recommend it to anyone? Unless you're a hardcore British tank enthusiast collector, no. Get the Centurion Mk V RAAC or even the Strv 81/Primo Victoria if you want a much, much better version of this tank. I'm just weird. Then again, there something to be said about the peace of mind of playing a mediocre tank, knowing no-one expects you to rofl-stomp half the enemy team by yourself because of the tank you chose. It's oddly relaxing...

Well ive been mostly lucky with this thing and you're completely right about its oxymoron type traits like it not having armor... but also having armor lmao the main reason I've been happy with it tho? I got it completely for free because I had it as a T10 (yes im that old) but bit anyway yeah if i had to pay to get it? Never! Theres a million other things you could spend that money on both in game and out that is wayyyyy better

This prius is very good for the environment. With the low emission rates of damage and very low kill counts per game played you're saving the planet!

Thisd is one of my fav tanks of all time. Main reason is the gun is fantastic. Sitting on 65% win in over 120 games so far :)

The main problem with this tank is it doesn't have Russian bias. i.e. with Soviet tanks you have random chance to hit... so you snapshot in the general direction of something, at max rendering distance and you magically hit, the weak spot. With the other tanks you have random chance to miss. i.e. you aim perfectly at a barn, from the inside and you manage to miss... 5 times in a row if it's a soviet barn.

It has decent camo and vr so maybe put a cvs on it?

I always have had real good games in this tank, and marked it way back not even trying and in not many games either. But I haven't played it in probably 3 yrs at least lol

i have just one question: Was FV4202 better X tier then Centurion X? What was difference between FV4202 top tree and 8tier Premium?

If they make turret move disperssion lower... That is what this tank needs. And maybe just a tiny more armor on turret.

Even though I know this tank is bad, even though I have better premium tanks, even though people don't like it, i have played more than 1500 matches with this tank and I am in love with it.

I like it. But I’m not sure why. It’s one those tanks that is decent when top tier but very not when fighting higher tiers.

My first premium tank, loved it until progetto , lis, 122tm, among others came along. It needs to be updated to current times, better alpha and gun handling, or something else.

My first tier 10 medium, and i still play it for the sentiments, i would say i like it, just do not play it to agresively.

I have had this tank since it came in the game as a tier 10... the low damage always a problem and the turret ring.. Just hit it again twice in the turret ring and your out of the game...But i dont know why i still enjoy playing it.. from time to time

Overall the tank is average, mobility is okay, gun handling could be better, i've noticed i can snapshot a bit better with stabs, the tank is not made to do that obviously. WG need to focus on the handling of this tank, more accurate with a bit of rate of fire, 5 sec reload of 4.5 sec.

I would rather play with a different tier 8 premium than a FV4202. It's a piece of POO of a tank. Mate I'm being nice in this comment. The FV4202 needs BUFFS Armor, Speed, DPM and Accuracy.

The alpha is quite weak though and I think it’s the biggest weakness, imo .

Same gun than centurion 5/1, And hull armor centurion is useless for me in current meta. I prefere strv 81 for std shell velocity, And I dont know why I finally play better with FV4202 than with centurion ( maybe because I know I have no armor ) I hate it before the buff 😂
