I have a Lil information on the .35. I stiffened the barrel with a carbon fiber collar, put a 72mm plenum on it then had it tuned by Neumann at FX USA. Oh and I added a Swan harmonics barrel tuner on it. Took it the the range using 93 grain NSAs, max power and POI were inconsistent. Tried the 79 grain NSAs still inconsistent POI. Switched over to the 81 grain pellets, tight groups very tight groups. Verdict, this gun NEEDS a slug liner/barrel ASAP.
When I go to a farm to shoot birds, I call it a job because I have fun but it is my responsibility to kill the birds safety responsibly and with efficiency. I went to do a "job" the other day that took a combined 2 days. In those two days I killed over 50 pigeons. Over 20 was nest raid and 31 of them were shot. I stayed up until 2 in the morning cleaning them. I hope this is an inspiration to you and others to get out and wack birds but I also want to say probably about 3 to 4 years ago I found your channel and I was instantly hooked. You had so much enthusiasm and knowledge not to say that you don't right now because you are so invested in what you do. I think it was because of you that I didn't stop begging to my grandpa to let him shoot birds at our farm. After that I was off like a rocket. Thank you for inspiring me to stay invested in what I have.
It's most excellent you eat all the pigeons you harvest. The best to you. I also am in the fantastic state of Michigan and shot my first pidgeon with a self-made bow.
Ted's videos are on www.airgun101.com/index.php/video-channels/ted-s-holdover as well. There's also a forum to talk to other shooters. It's not censored like RU-vid is either
Hope you like making these vids and your enjoying them otherwise this becomes a grind. I tell you now I think these vids and everything you do are bloody brilliant and I’m a Daystate man. All hail the Ted.
Thanks for the .35 demo. Looks great. Same old juggling act we play with firearms, velocity vs accuracy. True success, especially for hunting, is when your most accurate load is also max speed. Tweaking cartridge case brand, sizing, trimming, primers, powder, and bullets gives way to pellet or slug design, weight, air supply and pressure, etc. for airguns. What fun! Jess
I have watched your videos for a few years, I just bought a FX Dreamtact, several pounds of lead and a Tiger Shark tank, this should get me started. Thanks for you time and the info you provide. I hope all continues to improve for you and your family.
Great video. .35 is looking very promising! Glad you’re feeling better and I hope whatever stress that was affecting you is now over. Keep up the great work. We miss you on here! Best to you & yours, Ted!
I've been a fan of your channel for many years, though not able to be a higher-end gun owner I did get some tips and information that improved my air rifle techniques. I appreciate your growth and accomplishments in the air gunner world, You, Matt, and a few others have helped the airgun world grow tremendously. I'm just a pest control league gunner on the low end of the spectrum. My first pcp was a Benjamin .22 pumper. I hope the best for you. Respectfully
When i look at your videos, the passion, the training, make me realize that people really need to change their minds about guns, competitive shooting is just as noble as any other sport.
Thanks for the vid Ted. Used to see u on the yellow years ago. Your still lookin good buddy. Whatever got u down, i hope u beat it. Let us know how to optimize the 357 please. Mine should arrive later this week.
Awesome vid Ted. I also believe (possibly) more time behind the trigger and more tuning of the 357 will make her shoot closer to the 30 cal. Good stuff..........
I really appreciate all of your great videos. You spend so much time with these air guns which really helps others like myself to know how serious air guns have become over the years and gives me an idea of which ones I may want to purchase. Thanks for making these great air gun chronicles.
Hollow scruffy!!! How are you doing 😅 glad to see you out having fun and sharing your secrets again always appreciated, hope to see the results and pick up some tips along the way sooner then later. 🥃cheers🍻
Thanks for the tips ted everyone thinks you have to shoot pellets at 1000 fps and I'm glad you feel better less stress I know about stress especially in these times my friend thanks for sharing awesome buddy stay safe love ya Ted
Finally you show up! Nice to see you again man! Keep going, i love to see your videos. I like .22 cal and .25 cal, please show us something on that range.
Glad to see the old Ted personality beginning to re-emerge. Glad to hear you're feeling "more gooder" as well. So? I continue to inquire... what's up with the Warcat? All we got was the unboxing. Some of us do not "Faceplant", or "Instacrap", or ANY of that social engineering nonsense. That .35 is looking interesting. I'm wondering if the larger calibers will settle in a bit better with slugs? Purdy rig though.
@@HoldOverVlog LOL sounds like we need to issue a B.O.L.O. for it... might even qualify for an Amber Alert! Thanks for the reply, looking forward to learning more about it.
@Benny Silin Not worth a crap in the 25 cal Marauder. Cant3push them fast enough without serious mods and they were so tight in the breech that I barely got the bolt to close.
Thank you Ted. Your videos are THE MOST USEFUL, to inspire and improve my skills and my gear. In todays world there are a plethora of scope cams, but they don’t have the supreme Ted content. I appreciate you Ted, your combination of scientific intellect and a really nice man with great humor. The airgunning world needs your “Impact”. It really does.
Thanks Ted. As usual your videos are an inspiration. Keep up the great work. I'd like to know what other adjustments (Power, regulator etc) you make to tune a particular air rifle, in this case the FX Impact. How do you know, you have achieved the correct adjustments for your air rifle? In the future a video about this would be great. Hope that you and your family are safe.
Hey Ted from over here in the UK. It’s good to see you back, I’m sorry to hear and hadn’t realised you’d not been well. I just thought you’d been too busy with other things to post any videos. Glad you are feeling better and are back up and running. I recently purchased a Nexus scope for my FAC Crown and am loving it. That reticle does look good on the Helix though. Very interesting what you are saying about the pellet speed, I’m shooting AirArms 16 grain .22 at an average of 928f/s and getting pretty good results. Would you recommend slowing the speed down to the 850f/s? Take care and all the best.
Good video, and glad you are doing better. Can you tell me if there is a difference in the decibels between the .22, .30, and .35 pellets? I have the Impact .22 right now.
Perhaps it’s just a hold issue, I did notice the table flexed more with 35 vs 30. Maybe with the jump to 35 you can’t know longer (do minimum touch) like most Fx guns because the extra kick with the 35. Other than that, turn it up and put some slugs in it!!
Hello Ted. Great video. 👍 Just one question. I'm preparing my .25 cal. Impact MK II with superior 700mm liner for 75 yards BR, I have a choice: 25 gr JSB King or 34gr JSB MKII. What would you advise me regarding these pellets, which one are more suitable and at what speed. I understand that this is a too general question, but nevertheless, what would you advise?
I put the 72cc on the mk2 .35 and it's a excellent difference in power. Now, that's not to say the gun can do without a slug liner. I also added a carbon fiber collar on the shroud by the breach. This stiffened the barrel for better harmonics. Added a Swan harmonics barrel tuner too.
Glad you're feeling better Ted. The up and down you talked about reminds me of chemo treatments. Hang in there and keep playing with these awesome toys.
How's that double bottle system working out? I'm thinking of the same setup. How many more shots are you getting with the extra bottle? Is the weight significantly noticed? I'm a big guy but I do walk and stalk sometimes.
Have you had any experience with a .357 Benjamin Bulldog? I'm curious how the accuracy of your .35 compares with it, your gun seems to have a more accurate looking barrel with how much thicker it is than mine and it's free floated as well, the Bulldog has a fairly thin walled barrel supported at both ends (for now, I've got some mods I need to order that will accurize it). What is the OD of your barrel? And yes, the .35/.357 PCP guns are game changers. I found JSB pellets to be the most accurate so far, appears to be the general consensus among most of us airgunners. But the custom made pills Nozler make for it are insane too, 145 grain polymer tipped, they'll hit a 2.5" group at 100 yards without any wind. Big bore airguns are so damn cool, especially once you have your own airsource. Can't shoot cheaper than that lol.
Hey dude I’ve followed your channel for a good few years now & I watch your videos for like 2-3 hours a time. I’m also just referring to your comment about the rifles in the UK anyone 18+yrs old can own any sub 12 ft/lbs & if you’ve been a good boy/girl you can have a high power air rifle Exactly the same as you guys have & we can have any powder burner rifles but if it’s bigger than a 22lr it has to be bolt action only but can still have a magazine but in 22lr it can have a 25/30rnd clip in semi auto. I’ve got a FX Wildcat MK2 in .177 & can change the probe & barrel to shoot .22cal & I’m March for my birthday I’m treating myself to a FX impact High power & im getting probes & barrels so I can shoot both .22 & .25cal and I’m having the power plenum installed on it so I can tune it to 70-85 ft/lbs Keep your videos coming man I love watching them ✌️ from the UK
Question the scope and the camera I know you must have listed Buffalo but do you think you could be used on a 7.62 by 39 like a rifle bolt action or a 6.5 Creedmoor hooked up to one of those with same kind of setup like you have there like the bipods I like that Doppler radar that you're hanging on the end of the barrel I wonder if you could do that with a regular rifle instead of air.. just a question I happened to stumble on your Channel...
I got the .30 cal with power plenum and I love it so much I'm shooting JSB 44grn out of a slug liner @ 1000fps and holding 1" all day! They shoot very good out of the slug liner.
My double bottled .30 Impact STX that im running a power plenum that i added... Has easily 100 tins of JSB 44s. The only thing was the Rubber C3 bushing that i replaced with a Derlin bushing and bingo... 15k to 20k shots through her... Hubby and I just got our new .35s last week and just mounted scopes this morning will be shooting them tomorrow. We have fallen in live with both our. 22 Crown Conti and our .25 Crown Conti so much so that it's taken all our attention from everything else. Im sure our two new .35s will take our attention away from the Crowns for a little while. I will say this our .25 Crown Conti running JSB 33.95s at 870 has taken the crown of our most accurate gun away from my Impact .30... At a 100 it's a absolute laser beam and with the 700mm .25 slug liner we are getting MOA 5 shot 200y groups with 29.5g NSAs... Both our .22 Crown Contis are lasers as well. Not taking anything away from my .30 Impact as its a minute capable 10 shoot 100y gun all day long. When i pull the trigger i know exactly what it's going to do and the gun is so totally reliable and I've ran so many rounds through it that I know exactly what it's going to do and have total faith that the gun will do exactly what i tell it to do. The .30 Impact is a gem of a gun no doubt and the 44g JSBs are just lasers in them.. We have dialed in about 10 .30 Impacts for customers and can say that every single one of them just perform with the 44s and as Ted said 840fps with a lower reg pressure running the PP is a match made in heaven and it just works.
