In this video i was looking for a tune on my FX Impact M3 that could shoot the JSB 25 GR - 34GR and the Hybride slug just by a flick of the macro dial , resulting is some great groupings on paper at 75M .
Timing could not have been better, since i am in the process of converting my M3 .22 cal over to a .25 cal. Your videos are very well made as they are informative and easy to follow/understand. Love your videos and hope you continue to share more of theses types of content. Take Care and be safe!
I enjoy the shooting great work I want to get an FX Impact 3. I have the FX Impact 2 but it was one of the last ones that did not have FX Impact written on the cocking block. Internally it is an Impact 2; it's a great tool for target and pest control.
Thx , but do you find the results at 75M/82yard should be better ? If I would raise the regulator to 130-140 I can shoot all 3 pellets by just adjusting the macro wheel 🤔
Would you have the regulators set differently with a 700mm barrel? I don't yet have a chronograph and have made no adjustments yet to the valve spring adjuster or either reg.. I've only adjusted the micro and macro settings a bit. thanks for the video and that gun is sick.. Just got mine a few days ago
What a good video, I have a question. I recently had an M3 and I am setting it up. It is true that when the M3 is well set up you should hear it clearly when the plenum fills with air or is it a myth? I ask you why I don't hear it and to be clear that I have to keep insisting on searching for those sounds or maybe it's not necessary.
As always, very informative video. May I ask, how would you fit your fx fitted with arca rail and other Saber Tactical accesories to fit into the original FX briefcase?
@@Airbuks wow! From the begining I watched your video last year, I already can tell ypu are very very neat person. I like and learn a lot from watching your videos. Thanks a lot for sharing.
What were the out of the box settings when you got the M3? I just picked up a M3 .25 with the 600mm barrel but the settings were changed before I got it so I don’t have the factory settings. I would like to set it up for the FX 34 gr. pellets. Been working with it but haven’t had good luck so far. If you have some good settings for the 34 gr with a 600mm barrel it would be appreciated.
Hi Gregory, the original settings of the 25 600mm I don’t remember as they where not what I needed 😉 so I swapped it to the 700mm barrel and those are the settings I came up with in the video . Pellets tend to fly accurate between 830-880 fps . So make sure you tune your gun to that range with a 600mm .
@@Airbuks thank you very much for your reply. I have my 2nd reg At 95 as that is what I heard was the factory setting but I’m not sure. At 95 I haven’t been able to get past 849 FPS so I guess I’ll bump it up a little. Not sure what is max recommended on 2nd reg for .25.
I guess you have to go to 110 bar -115 bar to shoot 34 grains at that velocity. The 95 bar you read on the internet is based on the 25 Gr pellets. Just make sure you keep 30-40 bar different between the first and second regulator
So you are leaving both regs as you mentioned, all adjustments where done with power wheel? I am shooting all the same pellets as you except for for slugs, in shooting 33gr zan what was power wheel set at
I'm New to FX guns and i felt that your video is very helpful.but when you say 4 1/4turns on the value what do you mean.do you screw it in and bring it out 4 1/4turns . be great to know
Hi and welcome to the hobby 👊 what I mean is actually 4 and a 1/2 LINES on the valve travel adjustment screw ( at the front between the barrel and bottle neck ) if you look close on the adjustment there are lines 😉👊
Awesome video man great shooting i just put my 25 cal heavy superior liner on my m3 and was not happy my m3 is better in 22 cal standard superior liner shooting javelin 30gr 218 very accurate out to 200 yards very accurate bad thing about that is no one is has them here in the states at the moment
@@Airbuks yes sir I tried shooting varmint knockers 32.8 gr 217 22 cal .out of the Standard superior liner yesterday and it did work out groups at 35 yards look like I was shooting a shot gun 4 inch groups lol not good at all so I put the 25 cal heavy like I said and it was ok 👍 but not as good as the 22 cal 700mm barrel I like it better then 25 I don't know if its better because the slug is long and skinny I don't know but to me it's more accurate the 22 cal is ...
If I remember correctly it was about 15ES but don’t get hung up on the ES around 20ES you can still get good accuracy. The tune can also be affected as humidity , altitude etc come into play
I have my impact, in 25 cal with a 600mm barrel (which I just got 2 days ago) and I'm just wondering are you getting the 130 shots as advertised ? Reason I asked is because I have my rifle 1st reg set @160 and the 2nd set @ 110, hammer wheel set on 10 and the micro set @3.5 and the valve set @ 4 lines My fps is avg 955-960 with a 28 grain pellet. I get 60 shots per fill. Just wondering if my gun is leaking air after shots or is that just the number of shots I can expect with the way I have it set up ? I filed it to 250 bar and let it sit over nite and didn't see any leaks so just wondering if this is the norm for shots.
Hi , with those numbers you won’t get to the 130 shots as the advertised 130 shot use less regulator pressure and stuff . I believe the numbers are calculated with a 700mm barrel 2nd reg at 95bar shooting 25gr at 830-850fps
@@anthonygillespie4523 I don’t really test the schotcount on this tune as I constantly swap my configuration to make the videos 😉 for the exact settings you can find them in the video . I don’t keep track of them for the same reason , I often look back in my videos to get a reference 😂
I have been having better accuracy with the 34 grain FX pellets than the JSBs? I know they are both made in the same factory but I assure you…there is something different🤷♂️ don’t know what but JSBs give me 2-3” groups at 100 yards and the FX 1”. Don’t understand why but it is what it is. Awesome gun and video…thank you.
Yes the FX pellets are produced by JSB in very large batches from a new set off dies . This gives a better consistency throughout the whole batch and therefore can be better in accuracy. But I haven’t been able to get my hands on them ( difficult to get pellets these days 😬)
Would you prefer a donny shogun or ronin? I see that you use the ronin? I did the same tune on my .25 sniper today. Took the regulator from 100 to 115 bar. I couldnt get the desired speed with the mk2's without a big spread of speed with the factory setting. Air usage went up 100% tho ;)
@@Airbuks i did copy the settings as mentioned before. Heavys where going way to fast. I took the hammerspring finetune to 3 (wheel on max) to get some desireble groups. I pushed the 25grains at 870 on wheelsetting 7. But eventually I turned the finetune a bit to find the best groupings at 100m. To my opinion it's difficult to find a best tune for both weights. I still have a lot of mk2's, but eventually I will go back to 25 grains. It uses way less air, more pellets per box and commonly better pellets than the 34 grains. So I will set the regulator at 105 and tune it back.
@@smokkelaer1 hi , it’s possible you get a higher FPS on my settings from this video . Since in Made the slug power kit video I have been getting reports of people having a spacer ring already installed from the factory and maybe a different spring aswel ( but I am not sure ) my M3 is one of the first ones and didn’t have that when I made this video 😉👍🏻
I have done the weighing part , but very time consuming that I rather spend shooting 😉 the sizing I might give a try . I would do both if I go to a competition 👍🏻
There is a thing called a “PELLGAUGE” ABOUT $50.00 A series of laser cut holes you push the pellet through or not. Very quick But you are right for competition YOU HAVE TO FOR PLINKING JUST PICK AND PLINK
Sorry for my English I am from Belgium. I want you congratulations for you good video. I learn a lot of it. En now with this video en now how I most my m3 setting. 👍
🤔 if I had to pick one I would choose the M3 mainly for its adjustability and aftermarket parts , but I never got my impact in 30cal shooting aswel as my Maverick 🤔 so I have dedicated my Maverick to 30 cal 50gr pellets
Just got my mk3 25 cal from Utah. They sent it tuned at 915 for the 25.39 jsb’s. I’m assuming that’s a pretty good speed for those since that’s how they tuned it. What is your opinion? Hybrids have never grouped well for me either! I’ve heard the Nielsen 36.2’s do very well at 950-ish
915 can be a very good tune aswel , if you see in my video I got nice groups aswel at 900 . At the time of filming my harmonic node of my tune prefers 850 but it possible if I pushed them Abit faster to 915 they are in the same balance ( hope that makes sense 😉 )
@@Airbuks yes it does! I’m probably gonna settle somewhere between 860-890. I’m trying to do it with the smallest amount of hammer spring preload I can get away with. After shooting my 30 cal impact, this 25 feels very calm. Lol
@@Airbuks I think Ted bier tuned the 25.39’s at 895 with the superior liner and his 33.95 mk2’s at like 860-870 I think. I think the heavies will buck the wind better but they use a lot more air….
@@justinhromek73 yes those small variations in velocity can be between different guns to be the most accurate. It all has to do with the harmonics in your gun , if someone uses different accessories it’s possible they need a little slower or faster fps to be accurate 👍🏻 so the magic number mostly is between 830-880 but some people also get good results 900-920 with the 34 Gr
@@Airbuks just put the first 100 pellets through my mk3 with 33.95’s at 870. The last magazine I shot a group @50 yards, 28 shots that measured .515. 1st 10 shots measured 3/8” I don’t have room out to 100, what do you think that would equate to at 100? Hope you are well brother
Hi very informative video , I am looking at either a .22 or .25 in the M3 but not sure what to get Use is for small game and long range targets up to 200 yards what would you suggest thank you ..
If you want to go long range I would advise a 25cal but with the new progress made in 22 cal especially with slugs and heavier ammunition you can take that in consideration aswel . Difficult Choice 🤔 you can always start with one and still get a barrel kit later to change caliber . That’s the easy thing with FX you can constantly change your guns like me 🙈
@@Airbuks Hi mate thanks for the reply There's definitely more pellets and slugs for the .22 especially here in the UK then there is for .25 I've been doing a lot of research and there doesn't seem that much difference in the 2 calibres up to say 200 yards decisions, problem is after a 2 k bill be a while before I get another calibre so want to make the right choice if possible, Keep the great videos coming 👍
Very simple mate , a 30mm no limit scope mount with a plastic tube of 30mm diameter and some big orings to mount the chronograph on it 😉👍🏻 cheap and easy
You can try , but it will be shooting the 16 and 18 Gr pellets pretty fast with these settings. Or you can shoot some 22cal 25gr jsb monsters that can work well I think
I realize it's been year since the video, but using your settings on the M3 .25 with the power block is way off. And I also realize the addition of the power block does make a difference. Wondering if you've had a chance to recalibrate the M3 with the power block.
@@Airbuks 600mm barrel is 14.3% smaller. So could you increase the reg pressure by 14.3%? What about the hammer spring, would you also increase it or would you need to decrease it,because you have a shorter runway? Would be nice if it was that easy 🤔
@@1talan sadly enough it doesn’t work that way , the harmonic wave with every shot is so different that it needs proper tuning tuning to preform optimal
@@1talan I kinda got a good tune from watching Airbuks video. I have the same gun shooting JSB 34. 150 fist reg, second 120, valve 4 lines, Macro 16 micro 3.5. I am shooting the JSB 915 with a Standard deviation of 2 and spread of 5 fps. Its a laser from 0-60 yrds but I am still trying to dial in the 75 and 100 yards but I think thats shooter error. I am only getting about 35-40 shots before I have to fill .
could you create a video with all best settings for each popular pellets or slugs available for .22?for example all jsb pellets/slug lines? there are nothing about good setting start set up.
Hi , as I am not sponsorde by anyone these things cost some investment to make such a video. I also don’t believe that copying someone’s settings is the way to go as harmonics is the key to accuracy. It will give you a good starting point but won’t believe perfect. If you watched this video and some others I made you can see how easy it is to figure out the perfect velocity for your gun and particular ammunition. Hope my explanation makes sense
I have a 700mm .25 on the way. I ordered it May 4th. I have a Wildcat Compact Mkll that the go to pellets are JSB 34mkII's. I sure hope the M3 likes 34gn JSB'S & FX 34gn. Because before the China disease, I had accumulated approximately 5500 .25 pellets. So, luckily, no shortage here. Also, I do have a Ronan which will go from the Wildcat to the M3 when it arrives.
@@Airbuks. You have brought up an interesting point. Switching from one moderator to another will change the harmonics, yes. Although, as we know, the main purpose of a moderator is to dampen sound.
@@Airbuks. Very true. Many shooters don't yet understand the fact how much the group can change and how much the point of impact can change each time a different moderator is used.
Awesome shooting mate, erg mooie groepjes ;). I just bought a mk3 .22 with a heap of upgrades and accesories, slug power kit, carbon fibre liner cover and carbon fibre shroud+tensioner as well as sabre tactical rail arca swiss bottom and m-lock and picatinny and top and off course a heavy slug liner all 700mm. The only things I dont have yet are the monopod and accu tac. I also want to get a donny fl for it but i really don't know which one to get. My eyes were kind of drawn to the fatboy. Can you recommend a particular surpressor ? And just for shits and giggles I purchased javelin slugs made by patriot and designed to be used with an impact in a variety of grains. Thank you for all the video's that you post on YT, they give quite a bit of insight in how to start off with impact.
Hi mate , thx for the support and congratulations on the Impact 👌 The fat boy is a great mod but you can also take a look at the sumo or the various Huma mods . Personally if you shoot 22 slugs I would opt for the Sumo or the Huma mod40 The fat boy is a great option when you have several calibers as you can swap the inserts on that one
As always... Great Content! you did a very good job on the tuning here bud! I am still using the MkII but it shoots laser on 18 grains. just wondering if you're gonna make video about the HUMA dual regulator fitted on the MkII. Keep up the good work! Cheers!
Hello. I am Vietnamese. love this sport. But the country is strict, her economic conditions are limited. I used a condor tree branch LW USA, ammo 635, 24 in. Ammo weighs 25.6g. How much speed should I press? Thank you very much
Thanks for the video. I am receiving my 25 cal Impact MK3 in about a month. I am having them tune the gun to fit the 33.95 JSB. I am 100 feet below see level so I am wondering if that will add to the fps second or take it away? Air will be thicker so probably slow it down some. I am going to use this gun for hunting mostly so asked them to get the best accuracy in the tune above 900 fps. Id like some heat in the gun to have more impact.. Do you think taking the fps to 905-910 for 33.95 will produce a good accuracy for hunting at a distance of 35-75 meters ? Thanks again
I am not really aware if it will take away from the FPS or add 🤔 I always thought the higher the more you lose ? But I am not sure if that . You can get a good tune above 900 wit the 34gr they should be able to handle it , but I wouldn’t go above 920. You can always opt for a slug at those speed with a 30 Gr hollow point, perfect for hunting. Much flatter trajectory and better bc with strong impact and expansion
@@Airbuks Thank you so much. I was thinking in the air of 905-910 should be good. I will just have to experiment with the dials once I get it. I can always go back. Thanks for the response.
@@Airbuks I got the Impact. Noticed I am using about 5 bar per shot. I had Utah air tune it. First reg at 140 second at 100 ish. The value adjuster is at 4 or 5 lines. I shouldn't be using this much air should I ? What are your regs set at? They say in the manual to not adjust the second regulator. Is this true ?
@@brocwavra8813 In the manual they state that you should not adjust the first regulator ( but it’s no problem if you do and know what you are doing )the air consumption depends on what caliber and velocity you are shooting a particular weight projectile .
@@Airbuks I am shooting JSB 34 grain. Might try closing the valve some to increase shot count but I will lose speed. I think at 140-145 on first reg I will leave it alone. You can’t go buy first group. Barrel may shoot well. Like those slugs. Then more shots they’ll open up. Need to shoot s whole string of 25-25 shots to draw any good conclusions.
