Hay my friend I keep a old fashioned ice cube tray around to put my screws in when I'm disassembling things . It keeps them organized and somewhat safe , easy to get for reassembly . And they can be gotten cheep at the local dollar store here . Keep up the good work and stay safe ! "Deeds not words"
defo doesnt need that, id like to do a "Bullet proof your impact" video and fix a bunch of common problems in one session but there really isnt that much to actually do haha
Meathead Marksman I agree. Although a complete O ring replacement tutorial might be an idea, to include the best source of new ones. The ones fitted from new are mostly crap, and the O ring replacement kits some folk are selling (including a well known Brit parts supplier, and now EX importer) even more crappier. I did mine when I did the plenum mod you’re about to do, and Vladan recommended the supplier.
Thank you for a informative video . The valve steam rod or what it’s called came loose on my mk1 causing performance drop like yours. I never thought of changing that green o ring . Seemed to be loose in my case. I will order one now . Glad to see you got some rain down under 👍
Jus completed my Delrin C3 upgrade, wow!, what a difference!! Thanks for this vid. Was so easy watching this and then executing the steps to replace it.
It's always a brilliant video from you mate! Thanks for making it look easy. Plus, a very nice touch at the end about the "support and cutting edge technology" bit... Cheers, Mark
Very nice, superb advise about turn anti-clockwise till the click, then tighten, while we were working on rapid 7 parts turned out of peek also worked great. A very good lock tight that is not permanent is clear nail polish, moms or the girlfriends LOL. You should try it, it came from a spring gun tuner, and we all know how they recoil 👍💪🇬🇧
I literally watched the grass grow yesterday. by the end of the day It looked like someone has done a very lumpy green spray paint job on my back paddock haha
That means they should hit our shores soon hopefully. I think they will be an absolute game changer. You will need to move those alpacas outta the way. Should see some good results at 100 + meters. I cannot wait to fire some through the S510.
Excellent video! Very informative. I just got my Impact Dec. 1st, so I'm not sure if I have the upgrade or not. I'm currently on the waiting list for the new super plenum with UAGs so probably should ask them to check that out when it gets sent in. Aside from that, I'd have no problem attacking this situation myself after watching this video. Thanks!
no worries mate! its definitly worth mentioning to UAG cos im pretty sure the fx power power plenum does not come with one, but it would be very quick and easy for the bloke at UAG to install one for you while the gun is already apart for the upgrade.
Thanks for this video. I have an original FX Impact, the first version they ever made so I'm going to order some of these Delrin O-Rings to have on hand. My problem is a bit different in that going from Max to Min on the power wheel makes no change in the velocity of whatever projectile you're shooting. Been searching youTube and Google trying to find a possible fix, but no luck so far.
As always , glad to here from you my friend ! And again it's alway good that you are getting some moisture down under ...! Another great video hopefully I will never need it but will save it being a fx impact owner . As a believer of Murphy's law (anything that can go wrong will) if you plan ahead . You can influence the future to a better outcome . G-day mate . "Deeds not words"
Great video. My Imact X MKII .30 caliber has been great so far. I’m on the waiting list to get the power plenum upgrade with Utah Airguns, and I’m not sure if that kit comes with the delrin C3 bumper, but I will make sure that they install one for me.
it would be worth mentioning as im pretty sure it doesn't come with one so let them know you'd like it upgraded cos itll take them 2 seconds to do while the gun is already apart for the upgrade.
It's very useful video thank for making it just up to the point and solution. I need help with my impact mark3 it's power block is not getting any air both the front regulations has air pressure but nothing at the power block and no air pressure at all when I pull my tregur plz suggest
Hi Mate ..... awesome work! Your videos are truly awesome/educational ..... thanks a ton! The valve adjuster oring in my FX MK1 is busted as well ..... replaced it with some generic one that I could find (currently in India). Could you please give me the specifications of the Delrin washer that you show at 8.22 of this video ..... I'll try to get it here. Also, are there different types of power plenums for different models of the FX Impacts please? If so, which one should I get for my FX Impact MK1 serial number 179358. Do I need to get anything else like special orings/seals etc., to fit my gun? Sorry for the rudimentary questions as I am an absolute beginner! Thanks a ton for your time and help!
My new Impact MK2 about 4 months old , seems to be shooting fine . Though when I went to tune it up to 940 FPS with the idea of lowering back down with the front power adjuster to around 890 . My question is while adjusting the hammer tension nothing was really happening in the way of pellet speed . It pretty much stayed the same . I thought maybe I tightened it too much so I started loosening it back to where it was . My reg is at 100 bar . Do you have any idea what may be wrong ? My power wheel seems to be working so why wouldn’t tightening or loosening the hammer spring be having no effect ? Thanks in advance Mate !!!
its probably too much hammer spring for that reg pressure even when its on minimum. Firstly measure all your settings so its quick and easy to go back if you want, then as an experiment try 150 bar reg pressure, open the valve on the front to 4 bars (~10mm gap) and don't change the hammer spring, then let me know if you get a greater range between max and min on the hammer wheel. (factory settings are usually 18mm hammer spring gap or there abouts)
@@meatheadmarksman2013 , my Impact is the MK2 with new AMP reg and Power plenum . It’s a 177 , and came from the factory with the regulator set at around 75-80 . So I started to bump the reg up and slowly got to 140 which gave me the power I wanted but it wasn’t very efficient . That’s when I decided to tune it back down and start over . Like I said the power wheel seems to be working fine but I will turn it back up to 150 bar and see what the power wheel gives me at Max , Mid and Minimum . Thanks again as I never thought I’d get an answer this fast . You da man , Mate !!!
Hahahahahah ... you are the best mate, I love your vids. Keep up the good work making people see good things and have smile on the face is something that only you can do 😀😀😀 Good pic at start 💪💪💪
Hi bud I changed my c3 bumper to a (delrin ) notice that my shots are laughter, and not nice and quiet. Hammer spring maxed out. Seem like if metal to metal make that laud noice at every shot. Dont really like that. Any ideas? Thank you love your channel!!
max hammer spring is not nessacarily max power, you must find the sweet spot not just max it out. I have a few videos on how to tune airguns, thats would be the best place to start i think.
That is exactly what my C3 bumper Oring looked like 7:55 , I replaced with the Delrin one I purchased from Ernest Rowe at FX Airguns USA in North Carolina.
My impact lasted a whole 6 months before this happened! On my 3rd bottle (valve leaks) and my waiting for the parts to rebuild my reg that is already leaking.
@@Lorwildrose Im done sweating... im loking forward to our winter coming up. 0 to 5 degrees at night and 20 during the day, sunny, clear, crisp. exellent weather for camping, working, eating big food and lifting weights haha
How often do you have to go in and fix stuff on the FX impact Mark II I really like the rifle but I heard when they first came out they had leaking issues and then I've been seeing people fixing him lately and I'd like to get something that I can spend more time shooting than fixing
The problems that happen with the fx guns can happen to any pcp airgun, the main difference is there is a big user/social media presence around fx so there is alot of information out there and they are very easy to fix because of that. They are not without their problems but they are all easily fixed
Wrote my answer on the wrong post , but all is good as I just got my .22 600mm barrel , pellets and magazine delivered . Anyways I left my reg at 100 bar and got around 919 at Max and 849 at Minimum . I then bumped the reg to 150 without touching anything else like you asked and got 993 to 1000 FPS at Max and 807 to 814 on minimum . Weird that I got a higher FPS at 100 bar at Minimum than at 150 bar . So what do you think my Friend !!!
i replied to that other comment as well but ill elaborate here too. Your hammer spring wheel was not giving you much range because the amount of hammer spring you had for that 100bar was too much, my bet would be at 100bar reg pressure, max, 5, 4, 3, on the hammer spring wheel would have almost no difference in speed and then once you drop into that last 2, and 1 setting the speed would drop. you could solve this by choosing the reg pressure you want to use, set the wheel to MIN and wind down the hammer spring until you get a speed of about 700 - 750fps, then go back to MAX and fine tune it to get it nice and consistent, test groups etc etc. your problem was too much hammer spring for the amount of reg pressure
@@meatheadmarksman2013 thanks a million Mate . I was getting ready to order a rebuild kit from FX and the tools needed to work on it . I seen they made a couple new parts for the hammer spring , that black thing that moves next to the wheel was made shorter so people could turn the spring lower . If I remember correctly the new one is 16 mm and the old 18mm . So thanks for putting my mind at ease and I probably should order the O rings that most often go wrong . If I can ever be of help let me know as I live in the US and might be able to get parts that are hard to get in Australia !!!
@@rzage1 no worries mate, it is a good idea to have an o ring kit on hand for whatever gun you are using. I have a little tool kit that i bring with my now too to help with any problems.
@@meatheadmarksman2013 Yep she’s all fixed up and sounds like a sleeping puppy , nice and quiet . I probably could lessen the hammer spring a bit more but I don’t want to lessen it too much . Now I know why they call you Doc . : )
Hey mate still trying to buy the C3 bumper a ring went to the link you had on eBay and they don’t ship to Australia how did you get it I’ve been trying for weeks
Bought mine in December 2019. Do not know if I got the upgraded version with the delrin seal, but I downloaded this video just in case. I have a small metal lathe and some delrin rod, suppose I could make my own if I had the specs.?
Follow link in description to fx impact o ring schematic. I think c3 was 1/8in ID AND 1/4in od but click through the link and double check. The word document has clickable links to o ring shops that have measurements listed
@@meatheadmarksman2013 I just made one, 3mm ID, 6.8 OD and 2mm thick, which is essentially the size of my original O-ring. Waiting for the locktite to set before i shoot it. (tomorrow). While i had the gun in peices, i cut & polished the valve housing as per Vladan's demo, and opened up the hole in the valve block to 6mm. Good thisng is - its all together now and no leaks!
Just bought an external plenum power upgrade for my Impact $50.00 ebay usa. seller name ocye-0 from hong kong. Lots of fx-impact parts from this seller. Just thought I'd let you know.
Hi , Watch your all your Vids and love them except the one where you slaughter SFP's .... Lol ... Can you help Please .... I have a MK1 with a 700mm barrel in .25 cal have taken my barrel out to clean it and when i went to zero it the velocity had dropped from 920 ft/sec to 760 ft/sec using the 25g Exact's . I noticed that the reg pressure had dropped to 120 ish so i put it back upto 140 ish but the velocity was still only 780 ft/sec and on Minimum power it never got a reading off the chrono . It seems very much like your issue here but the gun hasn't seen that much use It was the first time in taking out the liner so i wouldn't put it past me to have done something silly . Greg
Could be the c3 bumper oring like in this video but it could also be a barrel o ring. Inside the brass piece on the end of the barrel there is an o ring, make sure that one is still in there. Id also suggest measuring the distance between the pellet probe carrier and back of the stock, its possible thats backed itself out a bit too
Thank you for that ... I didn't pull out the entire barrel housing but just removed the front shroud and then the liner , could the rear O ring have been hit by the liner going back in as i remember it locating firmer than i intended ? Regards Greg
@@OSOK7 im not 100% sure why they dissapear mate, weather its the liner bumping them out or they just get blowen out with a wonkey pellet of something entirely different. im pretty sure theres a bunch of o rings and odd socks piled up somewhere by the mystery gremlins
@@meatheadmarksman2013 Hi , Just looked inside the brass section at the end of the barrel with a bore scope and the O ring nearest the pellet probe is intact but there is another grove further away from the probe that is empty .... Should there be an O ring there as well ? My gun doesn't have the chamfered probe either ! Regards Greg
You do wonder how much of a shakedown they give these guns before releasing them for sale. Something like that seal problem should have been resolved before it went to the marketplace. Great informative video as usual.
im not sure how they do their r&d, I think this issue usually shows up after a few months so its somehow slipped through the cracks. very annoying that its still a thing but very easy fix
