Hi every one out with my FX King .22 FAC in this one on Magpie control protecting our ground nesting birds also doing pest control around the farmers building.
Hi Simon, Thank you for your latest video. Fantastic shooting as usual. I loved seeing your FX air rifle. It must be so handy to alter the power depending on what your situation is. I haven't got an FAC certificate, just 12ftlb. On your air rifle, I liked the design of those air pressure dials just underneath your magazine. What a great place to situate those and have them so handy to see. It looks like a great air rifle and supremely accurate. Congrats on the Magpies, too, they ruin songbirds. Great respect for sparing those Doves, I think they pair and mate for life. Best wishes, Ian.
Fantastic as always Simon! Pure class… i always get song birds nesting in my garden without fail, but magpies are everywhere this year so one by one I’m trying to pop them off!! As we know they don’t sit still for long.
Thanks for the video, Simon. Sometimes things just don't go as planned, but always better to err on the side of caution. Cheers from Texas, looking forward to seeing more from you soon.
You climbed those bales like an Olympic gymnast!! Very good Simon! That is a versatile rifle with the ability to raise and lower power, my old Crossman, we would lower power with 5 pumps instead of 10😂😂 My has technology changed. You were able to make it "building safe"...Have a great new week and see you on the next one!
Great video Simon, your lucky here in Wales our "wonderful "Assembly, have given the Magpie full protection, and you only need to travel the roads round the countryside to realise they are numerous, you could not make it up in satire !.
I can do one better: In this country we spend about £10 million every year restocking the local river with salmon but we also have very strict laws against controlling the cormorants who are getting fatter and fatter and more numerous living almost solely on the salmon smolt trying to get to the ocean. In other words: We spend £10 million on feeding a bird that is not endangered!
@@noremorsewoodworking2258 And your right noremorse, all your creating is a large bird table !, I will give you one, here in Wales, we had the last remnant population of the Red Kite in the 80,s, by careful monitoring and re introduction, it,s now a common sight across much of the UK. So why does "Kite feeding" stations here still feed Kites,Buzzards and Crows daily keeping the population at high density the year round. The answer theres money to be made from tourists never mind it is not good for the species that Kites, Crows and Buzzards predate upon.
Ye mate all my life i have seen our ground nesting birds struggle to survive to be fair but with what we all do up here with the keepers and such we now have good numbers as folk come from over the UK to see them but if what i do and such got stopped what a shame it would just go all quiet up here when all the birds kind of come to life in Spring a sound i love listening to every year.
Hi Simon, I like your channel, like your a Responsible shooter, like your character and personality, I wish I found your channel earlier Well done Simon
Another great video Simon...Come down to Devon where I live we have had rain almost every day since October....Only 3 frosts all winter....Mind you being a soppy soft Southerner Id freeze up your neck of the woods lol...
@@simon6ppc246 yeah unfortunately nature including the pests don't wait for anyone you have to get out while you can and do your best. Where i an the magpies are pairing up so large traps are getting fettled as are the natural hides near known nesting sites. Keep up the good work 👏 👍
Great job Simon, climbing them bales is the easy part, getting back down can be the problem, well it can be for me anyway, as you said but on my part it’s definitely age catching up, the head says yes but the body says no! The years are passing so much quicker too, what’s it’s like to be young and fit eh.
Looks like you are loving the FX King buddy. My mates one in .25 is bang on accurate and easily tuneable and works a treat. We are going to try some 41 grain Zan’s when they come out, could be good for long range stuff. Brilliant video as ever my friend . 👍👍
Thanks Roger ye to be fair don't say this to any one👀😂 but think this rifles tops my Rapid ya know its one hell of a shooter hi power low power with pellets slugs the lot.
@@simon6ppc246 why not put them up aginst each other . Would make a very interesting video I think ? I am putting my buddies King up against my other buddies Safari , both in .25 with a series of tests . Once it stops raining of course 👍👍
That would be a good video! Can’t wait for my king, wish the variation would hurry up, I’m worried my impact will get will be made redundant when the king is here 😂
Well ye but to be fair the Rapid is designed for pellets and the King slugs even though they both shoot either but might do one day but i don't want either to win or loose as they are both my babies 😂
Another great video, love watching them. The adjustment on the king seems to have quite a range, I'm guessing its hammer spring tension adjustment? I've got a dreamline, but the range of adjustment with its dial isn't as much, would need to adjust the reg and hammer to get that amount of adjustment I think.
Ye Paul at the moment its 56 ftlb high power with slugs and turned right down around 16/17 ftlb with pellets but obviously altering the reg could make it higher power and the micro adjustment even lower power.
The weather is shite at the moment, so I have been playing around with my old Daystate, 21ft/lbs On Bisley Magnums, new bipod, and trying 17 Hades! Every time I go to this permission the farmer arrives to feed stock! You can’t win!
Aaaaahh mate what a superb vid!!!!...the more I watch your vids the more I just wanna grab the rifle and get out there......and the more I see your FX King the more I want one lol On my way to my permission the other day I passed a field that had around 12 magpies like in your opening clip....never seen so many together before...I know they call it a 'murder of crows' when there's a group of them and I reckon a bunch of magpies where I cant shoot should be called 'not flippin fair! ' I haven't seen Masters of the Air yet but I used to work on and fly in the last flying B-17 in the UK & Europe called SallyB....but that's for another day. Sorry, I've jibba jabbed on again but best wishes as always and to Jack too.
Thanks Jeff and ye i have seen Sally B fly at Duxford a few times now, by the way as you might have guessed i love all the WW2 planes and such especially the Spitfire.
@@simon6ppc246 haven’t used it much mate to be honest! I would say the image is better at night especially out past 200 yards and you can obviously zoom in more and picture quality is clearly better then, but haven’t really used it in the day apart from when I zeroed it in, lrf is handy to have especially well it’s on the loopy 260🥴😂
The king has me seriously thinking of trading my utterly superb 37ft lb weihrauch hw100 in! Now if only fx gave us the same reliable anti double load as on the hw100 😢
Hi there simon👍👍wow what lvly picher my friend that fx king that is some kit 👍👍with power i lv that ida you can turn power down thats nice touch bro mazing job that you doi👍👌simon never mind on the louk at👏👍the moment with the problum foxs bro they thinking to them selvs sod that for the weather we ay goi out in that🤣🤣but your louk got to change bro hold on in there if eney boddy can read the problum foxs its you bro ow dear me🤣🤣🤣that brings the days back climing up and over them bails hay lol😆😆what you like bro brings😁😁the kid out of you bro thank you so so much our simon for your time👏👏👍to go out forus all bro please be safe ow carnt bleave camra fell over un real bro we all could here in your mind what you was saying god🙏bless you bro stay in have lvly cuppa give our jack big hug gor us all we see you on the next one bro thank u so much bro👍👌👏
Weather has being bad mate and no sign of it approving. I like the look of your king , I've being out myself few mornings , 19 magpies so far last 3 times I've being out . I've seen young magpies out already would u believe... ... look forward to ur next video mate
Another top job done Simon, brilliant footage as well, shame about the camera. One question, I can see how you get up and down the straw bales, but how does your gun and kit get up and down ? Do you tie it to a rope or something ? Keep making this awesome content pal 👍
Cheers mate ye i just passed it all up first then set the camera up then filmed my self just climbing back up after retrieving a pigeon, to be fair its hard at times to film it all 100% exactly how it all happens 😉👌
@@simon6ppc246 🤣 Hey, as I read here, a very interesting new field of work is opening up for you, you are now also needed for border protection, not just pest control anymore somewhre. Incidentally, you could also often take part in covert foreign missions in the EU as a mercenary. Here they get cat food from a neighbor !!????
I'll give you a tip Simon... I know you're a tight wad Northerner.. but buy a couple of Carm mags for that FX King, they are better than the fx jobbies.. Nice video ❤
Simon, thank you for this excellent video, Sir; I live for these hunts! I use a Bog DeathGrip tripod to rest my air rifle - Hatsan Neutron Star in .22 - and it's very heavy to carry around. I see the rifle rest you're using appears to be the Primos Trigger Stick Gen3, which is lightweight and adjusts height quickly, something I'm looking for. I've read some good and, several negative, reviews on its durability, especially regarding the legs. Would you give me your honest opinion about it, please? As I am considering a purchase, I'd like to hear it from someone who is actively using one. Cheers!
Ye Glenn to be fair i love the gen 3's but also being honest this is my second pair as the first lot just went stiff and broke but i had them 3 years and as you can imagine they got some pain but ye i would get some pal nice and light and adjust so quick
@@simon6ppc246 Simon: Thank you very much, Sir; I sincerely appreciate your honest response. Based on your input, I've put in an order for the Primos Trigger Stick Gen3 24"-62" model. You're a true mate! Be safe, and good hunting...cheers!
Sir, I looked this up: The maximum muzzle energy allowed for air guns in the UK is 12 foot-pounds (16.2 joules) for rifles and 6 foot-pounds (8.1 joules) for pistols.
Simon, I noticed a string on your rifle. Was that to check wind? Because Dimitri puts one on his rifles to test wind direction. He designs the reticles for Primary Arms. Have a great day & GOD Bless
@@simon6ppc246 you can call me Matty or matthew also I’m going to do pest control myself soon with someone you know and spoke to yesterday or 2days ago
Hi Simon, do you prefer using the king over the Redwolf? And if yes please could you tell me why, as I own an fac redwolf in 22 and am considering a change,, many Thanks 👍
Ya Know Kevin its hard to write this with out sounding negative but that FX King does virtually every thing i wanted the Red Wolf to do because its in a totally different league. That rifle has honestly blown me away with how it performs.
Ye pal at 30ftlb honestly i would get i reckon 130 shots if not more its a joke and i to lost hundreds of pounds on my Red Wolf because it was FAC but 100% getting this FX King was the right choice.
@@simon6ppc246 thx Simon.. I’m happy with my shot count I’m getting over 200 @ 30 which is lowest factory setting.. coz of my age now I think I will stick with it.. I can’t knock its performance tbh.. plus I don’t really get the time to use it as much as I should,, keep up the great videos mate.. showing how things r done properly.. top man 👌👍👍
Hi Simon, It's a pleasure watching you at work. Quick question: What moderator are you using on the king? The FX king is on my shopping list.. thank you for making these videos.
