Superb as always Simon, the wife and I always round off the evening watching one of your videos. Watching these has got me back into rifles after a 40 year break, how air rifles have changed. The pcp is so accurate, we both have one now. Thanks.
A super show, Simon. I love seeing your kit, and you using it. Great shooting, well done! Thank you for showing us what a Stock Dove is. I can see the differences now from a Wood Pigeon.
Great attitude great craft with excellent shooting skills. You never cease to amaze me whether it’s a rat at 25 yards or a fox a 250 yards. Great video.
Thanks Simon! I always enjoy your videos. As I've said before, this is wonderfully filmed and edited. And the pace of it is excellent: you provide just enough video before a shot to set the viewer up for what is to come, and just enough afterwards for the viewer to see each "story" to its end.
Ye thanks Brian i always think you haven't to drag things on like others do or it gets boring but also you have to do enough so you get to see what's happening at the same time lol.
This defo is the best video I've watched in all the years of following and I've loved every video from the start but this is the best one for me out standing shooting mate you've worked hard on that farm in this footage so well done mate 💯
Excellent shooting as always and a great night on the rats 👏🏻 I’ve been using my Alpex 4k lrf without an ir torch, waiting on the PBiR x to arrive so good to see what I can expect. Keep up the good work
Great clear image on the video I'm impressed with that sight setup. Non stop action on the rat's and 12 fpe does the trick and even a bonus double on the one shot. Cheers Simon and give Jack a pat for me
Always enjoyable, Simon. When I bought my first rifle 2 yrs ago, after many in the doldrums, well actually, since my youth, I got a cheapo light-weight set of sticks. So easy to handle, no lugging a big lump about. All you need is that little bit of steadiness for an airrifle.
Lol ye honestly that Wolverine is a tack driver as you can see i suppose, to be fair i am not really a Daystate fan in all fairness but them Wolverines for me are the best they ever made.
Love your videos the 4k is fantastic i upgraded from the ds35 70 which is now on my ghost, the 4k is on hk100 kt which love ratting , the trigger sticks are a must i never go out without them well worth the money..keep up the great work..
Top job mate cracking night on the rat's got to say that 4k alpex looks brilliant i got the old alpex for my theoben mk2 FAC 25cal and really enjoying it but that new 4k definitely better. Looking forward to seeing it on the ppc
The scope looks great ! I love my gen 3 sticks for all my shooting from Foxes to Ferals & Rats, I threaded some elastic through a Tennis ball and through the small gaps in the handle, now i can open my sticks and pop the ball under the top section, this stops them from closing when your using them 👍🏼🏴
Ironically watched this whilst at a mates in stockport before heasing back to yorkshire land. Scope looks great, i went with a DS35. I like seeing the sub12 getting some screen time. I dont get mine out as often now but they are still very capable work tools! Cheers for the uploads, got my eye on a pbir now
Thanks for the video Simon. You could have done with a re loader on the rats that evening. The view at 249yds was impressive and something one can't gauge at a show.👍👍 atb Neil
Hi there simon wow what👍👍lvly clear picher of the apx amazing simon you are right on the mark my friend 👍👍the rifle you was husi on the rats its got lvly sound on it as you shoot it mazing job my friend👏👌hope that you do well on the problum foxs carnt waight to see that please stay safe for us all and we see you soon my friend thank you so much for your time happy pestcontrol simon lvly job 👍😁👏
That’s a proper amount of rats alright ! The Alpex seems to be doing the trick. My buddy has one and he says it’s ace and crystal clear . I am looking at an ATN day / night scope for ratting , hope it’s a clear as that Alpex . Wish me luck . Great vid buddy 👍👍
Great shooting as always Simon, the Alpex 4K certainly looks like a winner, had to order mine at the Shooting Show as the first batch were all sold out! Been looking forward to getting my hands on a day/night scope like this for over 20 years (I actually approached a few companies with the idea of a scope just like this back in 2000 with no luck, glad someone has eventually built one, better late than never I guess!)
@@simon6ppc246 Maybe that's the next step! :) They are about to release the new 4K Habrok binos later in the year, which looks like it has the day/night Alpex 4K sensor in one barrel, but only a 256 x 192 thermal sensor in the other, when they should have put the Stellar 2.0 in. Now that would be a great bit of kit!
Hi mate, I watched this vid yesterday first thing and can honestly say that it was just the nudge I needed to grab he rifle and head down the woods....must of had a senior moment as I'm only writing my jibba jabba comments now lol. The quality of that glass though is just phenomenal in both daylight and at night vision, this is just one of the many reasons your vids are so enjoyable as the kit reviews are great.....my credit card might say otherwise though lol. For work I'm based on a dairy farm for the next 2 weeks for a machine launch and the farmer has said I can shoot rats at his other farm, I'm made up as permissions are hard to get these days. Please keep the extra long vids coming, I know it's extra work for you but just know it is so appreciated. Apologies for the essay but wish you and Jack all the best.
Ye cheers Jeff this really is a good scope and i am enjoying using it to, its on my 6ppc now but the weather has started again so i am back sat at home but hope fully it should pick up again soon, and ye get on the rats you will enjoy it 👍
Excellent as always mate I’ve just bought one zeroed on the .22 and 22lr just my 223 and 243 to do seems to hold zero well if you put the correct data in for bullet speed and BC
just been out with a mate to site in his alpex 4K. at 100M, you can see clearly the impact of a shot. very impressive picture. i didn't get to look through it at night, as he was on shooting duties. 250M shot with that picture you had would be a breeze. looking forward to your fox hunt.
What a cracking set up, it's almost cheating. We were brought up on sub 12ft ib in the uk, so we soon learnt to head shot all the time.Great nights shooting!!
Hi Simon , excellent video , makes for very interesting viewing , purchased a Alpex back in Nov and have been chuffed to bits at the rat control I've had . but noticed a month ago that the rats were becoming very wary when i turned the IR on to point that they would scatter , gentleman on the HikMicro stand reckoned i was using the wrong frequency and to try 940 , we are back on track again and I'm just off outside to try my best again . Next thing on my list is a AGT Vixen ,,,,,,,,,,,,, when I can find out were the missus has hidden my piggy bank
If i was going to upgrade from my 4k pro the Aplex would definitely be my choice, the gen 3 sticks are far more stable than the gen 2's, i bought the gen 3 because i was sick of the legs on the 2's slipping, worse thing is the pick up after ratting, nice video Simon
I seem to have solved my rat problem after a few months hunting outside the chicken coop with my .17HMR and red flashlight. I had traps inside for the smaller ones but did a get a few pretty small ones with the rifle.
Re primos, they are good until the legs start to stick. Also their CS is pretty poor. I have been waiting for a replacement for a lost camera connector box. Don't loose stuff and their not good if you get them dirty or throw them around.
Alpex looks impressive, really interested in getting one myself. Currently using pard 007 Sp lrf but struggle with focusing near targets. Great shooting especially 241👍
Just find your channel Simon. Its a great pleasure to watch! I’m getting my license for rat hunting with a air rifle to (here in the Netherlands). So you videos are very interesting for me. I’m thinking of buying a Daystate Alpha Wolf With a Pulsar Digex C50 night vision or a thermal scope. Not sure yet. What is your favorite air rifle for hunting?
I have a few BT to be fair one being my old Rapid 7 another Wolverine R and new to one of my favourites is the new FX King and ye the C50 is a cracking scope for pest control but the new Alpex 4K is the latest one out very clear.
Another good sesh bud, sorting out them long tails. Can you tell me what IR torch mount set up you for the Alpex 4k. I’m looking for a set up for my 4k and not sure if an high or medium mount would be ok.
