Thank you for the bloopers at the end ! I needed the smile , hell I needed the laughs ! Great review . I love my FX and enjoy shooting it in many calibers . The accuracy is amazing because of the adjustability it offers . I have found I can shoot almost any pellet/slug accurately . Shoot straight , shoot often !
Couldn't agree more! Great review! I love my .25 and it's as versatile as yours. Setting 6 I shoot Mk2 Heavies. Setting 3 I shoot Hades. Setting 5 NSA 29gr setting 3 shoots Hybrids and they all shoot lights out! Of course my Orion Cam and magazines make it better too! 😆
Very nice job man. I love that platform but just can't get myself to make the jump. My Wildcat MK3 Sniper comes so close to doing what the Maverick does, I just can't make the jump. Congratulations on a very accurate and consistent PCP my friend!
Great review video Erlis. I always appreciate your kind honesty and thorough content. Impressive gun so the Maverick is. What was the total turn around time from ordering to receipt of your rifle from SPAW? I always hear nothing but stellar reference to Ken. Seems to be very respectable and outstanding at what he does.
Sometimes it depends on availability. When I contacted Ken for a VP he already had it there so it was jist waiting for the time he spent with the gun tuning gor the two projectiles I asked. Hades and the 25gr about two weeks
Hey Orion , I watched ur video & took ur advice to buy a fx maverick , from Spaw-. Ken , u said he tuned ur gun like u wanted & sent it to u . But my experience up to now , has just been da opposite. My gun doesn’t seem to be functioning like urs . It hasn’t . First day problems with magazine. Can’t get Ken back on da phone . Steve is now trying to help me . He cool , but since I don’t have a RU-vid channel I don’t get dat treatment, like u , and countless other RU-vidrs who seem to get top notch service on Dey purchased airgun. But I am somebody to me& my family . Nonetheless.
I'm really sorry you are having a bad experience. I know Ken is really busy and I was having hard time getting him on the phone. Email always works for me. Also remember you have warranty on your purchase and if you're not happy you can send it back. Let me know how it goes. I built some 3d printed magazines for this gun that I like better than the factory one. Hope you can resolve your issue amd enjoy the rifle. Keep me posted!
Don't tell to many people that the maverick is the impact and wildcats kid. To many people already think that guns get up, eat bullets, then drive somewhere and start shooting people 🤔.
Great video, Erlis. I had been planning on getting an Impact M3 for my next gun, but after seeing your review and what Steve at AEAC has been able to achieve with the Maverick, that will be my next gun. Keep up the great work!
The m3 is great, but at least for me, the Maverick have everything I need/want. The M3 will start making more sense if I will start doing long range shots, but as you said, even tweaking the Maverick I think is possible to achieve the same pong range shots... The magazine is the other thing... One thing I'm sure, you will love the Maverick
Not sure what you paid for that, but when I was looking for a Maverick I called SPAW and was told they only sell FX guns now with “Premium tunes” for 3-4k. I said I knew how to tune myself and just wanted a Maverick VP. To that I was told to look for another dealer. 🤷♂️ Not sure how a FX dealer can get away with over charging their guns but they are. Pay to play!
@@coreymoyers really? This is a nonsense you can see the prices on the website, you can buy a gun from Ken and ask him to not tune it at all. A friend of mine just did that. The price is listed on the website. I don't know who you talked to? Did you talk to Ken?
@@coreymoyers Not sure who your thinking you talked too, I do not charge for basic tune with the gun purchase. Only time I charge for a tune is for slug tunes because of the time and cost of slugs. I answer all the phone calls and emails here, and I assure you this was NEVER said.
@@OriOnTheIguanaHunter. I doubt that he talked to anyone. And if he did, he is making up a story about what they told him. Some people like him like to lie just to see how people react to it.
We here in Puerto Rico also have thousands of iguanas everywhere the same as the state of Florida. Here our local iguanas hunters prefer the .22 and .25 calibers airguns to take care of them. Hope this info helps 👍😊
Nice! I'm glad your experience is same as mine! The bipod extension is a saber Tactical one. I like it has an arca swiss connection so I can mount it on my camera tripod also
Orion, How does it carry in the field? I had the Prophet, but it didn’t carry well. Then I got the Uragan, because it had a stock handle like the Wildcat, but it’s actually pretty heavy 🥵 Then I got a FlashPup, cuz its light & short, has a handle, but it’s only 24 shot & short range like 50 yards max accurately with .25 Polymags. Bullpups don’t sling very well either 😭😂 Thx for the review 👍💯💥
My current setup is heavy. But the main reason it's so heavy is the scope. My scope is really heavy but I like that glass so much I won't use anything else. I think the compact version will be a better fit for carrying. Will give you a ton of shots even with the small bottle
I LOVE my Maverick snipper but it has more barrel flex than expected so I ordered the carbon fiber barrel sleeve. I'll let you know how it works out. I'd love to see more videos with the Maverick and how you may tune or modify (and Hunt) it. Love your channel and God bless my friend.
Good add for Ken Hicks but, he is in America & not here in UK ! So, who is the comparable Tuner in the UK & do I need to need his services on a NEW gun from the box, what should I look for when opening the box before using the gun?
Steve from AEAC has a great video on how to tune the gun, It's not hard to do but you will need a Chronograph, a lot of air and ammo. Steve video is really long, I might do a quick version on how to do that
Level the gun by removing the cheek piece and using that flat part of the rifle, put the level in the direction of the barrel. Then put the level on the picatinny rail and check, if it's leveled you don't have the 20 moa, if it's inclined you have it!
Dude i was laughing so hard at the end with the bloopers Great honest video overall but man that ending had me dying laughing with the cars and donnyfl
I’ve noticed with mine if you use the power wheel to shoot a variety of projectiles you give up a lot of velocity consistency at the lower power settings. For example my 25 with 109-110 bar reg, internal hammer adj to give max velocity for that reg pressure on setting 7 of 921-923 fps with 25.39. If you shoot at that speed they are ridiculously consistent. They stay pretty consistent on 6 and 5 which keeps the speeds 900 and above. Consistency starts to fall apart on pw setting 4 though. Most shots will stay 20 fps spread mid 850 to mid 870 but there are always errant shots that open the spread to 30-40 fps. So everyone should be aware of this give and take nature. It’s best to set the gun to one projectile at one speed for best results.
Outstanding video! I wanted an Impact initially, but decided the Maverick was a better value. It's like a Lego box for unique configurations, and has enough energy potential for any job. Thanks for sharing 👍
You mentioned filling to 300 bar. Don't do it! look at the side of the receiver at 0:41 It says max pressure is 250 bar. Be safe and enjoy your wonderful gun.
You are right, but the limitation is not on the gun, FX was using 250 bar bottles and valves, but with the release of the dual amp regulator they open the possibility of higher fill. The M3 is rated to 300 bar and uses the same dual amp regulator system. I might have missed this on my explanation and I think it was wise from FX to rate it at 250 because the 300bar bottle and valve was not readily available, but now you can buy those as an upgrade so the gun will handle it. All of these being said....I rarely fill any gun to 300 bars, specially the Maverick that it's so efficient, I got so many shots out of it that to my its silly to add 50 more bars when I can lower my regulator 50 more bars and get the same results. Thanks for the comment, it's very important to be safe and I might have missed this explanation on my video
@@OriOnTheIguanaHunter Hi Erlis thanks for this great review. I am planning to buy the FX Wildcat BT VP that comes with the 600 mm barrel in .22 cal also just like yours. As you already know the Maverick and Wildcat are exactly the same the only difference is the design of their stocks. I am planning to use my FX with the JSB exact jumbo 18 grains and the FX or JSB redesign 25 grains pellets. I do most of all my shooting in my backyard and the range is between 25 and 50 yards, so your current tune should be the hot ticket for my Wildcat. I asume your Maverick regulators pressure are set to 100/70 or 95/70 that happens to be the best overall tune for this FX airguns for this two relative lightweight Diabolo pellets. Can you share with me at what fps you are shooting the lighter 16 grains JSB Hades and the more heavier FX/JSB 25 grains pellets? I only do bench rest target shooting so I am sure your current tune should be the absolute best to achieve this same laser accuracy precision with my FX Wildcat as well. CurrentlyI also have a Air Venturi Avenger wood stock and a Kaliburgun Cricket II tactical WTC 60 both in .22 cal so the FX Wildcat should be my third PCP airgun. I subscribed to your youtube channel since last year and love all your videos since here in PR we also have thousands of iguanas everywhere the same as Florida and this is what we hunt here locally. Thanks 👍😊
@@zacatecano1986 you get more flexibility with this gun. I'm going to build a compact gun to have a short and long gun... My two guns now are same size... I can't do that with the RTI
Ok , let me start by saying “I apologize” to Spaw weapons Ken is da real deal .I was not happy at first , but Steve kinda cooled me off , walked me thru da process to what to expect asking questions from my point of view . Things are 100% with us now ! Got my maverick running smooth like ! Real Talk …
Jeffrey, I'm so glad to read this! I know Ken is really busy but he will always follow by email. I'm really glad everything worked out and you are happy with your purchase! Enjoy the gun because after all this time that Maverick is still one of my favorites!
It’s been 2 months my friend and nothing happening from your channel. I hope and pray that all is well with you and yours my brother. God bless and stay safe. We are all missing you and your videos. Been busy with the .25 cal Avenger and not disappointed at all. Best 300$ I ever spent. Heck with the SK-19 .25. Too easy! This is way more better bang for the buck😂🤷♂️ Waiting to hear how the 20 MOA rail helps out for the long range shots! ??? Does the Liberty .22 shoot just as good at 50 as the Maverick? BTW …couldn’t agree more with you about Ken Hicks and tuning your gun first. The man is spot on with FX and airguns in general. Genius!👍💯🤷♂️
My brother all is good, just really busy with the newborn, I have some ideas to film something from home, but since the baby was born I'm bot going out
sorry I don't understand, a bar coming from "your bro" to my shoulder rest? I don't know if that's a typo or something, it doesn't make sense. Let me know what's your question
I don't have an Impact or a Maverick, but I dearly love my FX Boss and also my FX500 that I bought used from Ken. A+ to you and Ken Hicks, Mr. Erlis. Great video.
It is def a blazer! FX just can't be beat for the price point and modifications. I love my FX air rifles. Wouldn't want any other. I now own 5 caliberz. I've got mine tuned up to 90fpe rn! Nothing much gets away lol hey, nice review on this. Sta slingin that sweet air rifle lead! Ed da pro snipper air man💥👇💪😱😱😱
Keep crying to RU-vid Eddie. But they won't delete all my comments. You told me you had 43 FX guns. I guess you forgot that. Just like you forgot about the 3 wood stock Avengers that you claimed to have. And the 13 farms.......🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think you might feel more comfortable away from the heat. Go inside to the basement or to air conditioning so you can be cooler. Can Iguana be hunted in the winter months? You are very thorough and I appreciate that. Thank you.
They will be around the entire year but they are more active during April to October, remember we don't y cold winters here in south Florida. I'm finishing putting something together so I can film indoor, will see how that works, thanks for the comment
Just dropped an order for the Maverick 30 cal...it was a toss between that and the Impact. Lesser parts and similar power, made the choice easier. Thanks for the review.
Es que tengo ya el canal hace mucho tiempo en ingles y casi todos mis subscriptores hablan ingles.... Les estoy poniendo subtitulo en español a algunos videos
Erlis that's a awesome set up you got going on there . Can't wait to see it taking out Iguana's 🦎 🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎 And it's good to see you again keep'em coming and keep'em in your crosshairs +
Yes those two are in a completely different league. If you can compare some of the Elements with the Tract that would be the Nexus but I haven't had the chance to own one yet
@@OriOnTheIguanaHunter had a lot, from magazin not fitting to barrel liners who are bad. Got a new one under warranty but that one is not good to. Have now a pre superior barrel in it. Pellet liner. It is in 22 and the sniper model. And almost everything was lose up to the trigger adjustment screws. Am now on the way up… but due several reasons my range time is limited. I stil like the platform but am a bit dissapointed. Realize now that I am extremely lucky with my Wildcat Mk3 sniper in 22. Out of the box for more than a year now and doing 1 inch at 100 mtr with 20.2 NSA at 50 J. Just like you wanted more air, no more big bottles lugging around at the range. Like I said before., sure would like a Ken Hicks overhere…….
@@OriOnTheIguanaHunter good to know. I thought for sure it would have been a .25 cal. Great work. Love your videos. Please keep it up. Very happy for your little one. Enjoy!!
@@OriOnTheIguanaHunter well you let me know if it goes up for sale. I live here in South Florida and I'd love have a 25. I have a Taipan Mutant .22, but want a .25 as well.
Good point, I don't think so, everything on the gun us designed for right hand person. The magazine can only be inserted from the right and the cheek piece has a shape for the face but again, right hand...
@@steveyountz1757 I don't own one, but recently saw mention that there is a mod to turn around the cocking mechanism. The magazine is my a big deal, the face rest we could deal with (I'm a lefty and have been looking). Will post again once I find it.
I really appreciate the responses to my comment but think I will look at the 'Dreamline' version, when I can look at buying. Now, is there somewhere on the east coast that sells FX airguns. There is nothing......that I can find......here in South Carolina????
I will add one bit to clarify a point you made in the video. The FX Impact M3 has 3 gauges. The bottle and 2nd regulator are WIKA (good quality). The 1st regulator gauge is FX (junk-you were very kind in your description). I got my M3 last Friday. When the gun arrived, the 1st regulator gauge was at 195 bar, but Ken's report (yes Ken Hicks at SPAW is the man) said he set it at 173 bar! 5 hours later, the gauge was right at 173 bar where Ken said he set it. The 2 WIKA gauges had not moved at all. On Monday, the gun went back to Ken at a cost of $94. It will cost $94 to come back, so with the cost of the gauge, about $250 and 2 weeks lost in shipping time, for a gauge. I was told the new guns would come all WIKA gauges. Don't believe it. Have your dealer double check and swap out the 1 FX gauge on the FX Impact M3 before shipping.
