I went with the 600mm .25 version to set up for bench rest. I don’t have a chronograph yet to really start the tuning process, but the factory settings were the 125 reg and 23 on the macro wheel. It is pushing a 34 grain FX at 970! Only change so far was to turn the wheel to 17, and now have the speed at an 884 average. Still a little to fast. You mentioned tuning to get close to 1000fps. From the research I’ve done, ie talking with folks, and interviews I’ve listened to, the majority of the top place finishers are 850-875 ish. Keith from 68 Whiskey, who won, did a great interview on his set up. Just take a look before deciding to tune that high for competition. Don’t want you to waste your time and not be happy with that speed.
Very smart I agree with what you said about 68 whiskey. And the gun is shooting so well at 920 Don't know that I'm really gonna fiddle with it It's besides adding a barrel tuner.
Awesome startin point for my testing always starts at 25 yards I have done that for years and has served me well I am right with you on that.For the last 3 weeks I have been go back and forth between the Wildcat, Impact and Panthera seeing the are so close in price I just cannot make up my mind. Nice shooting.... I wonder how a barrel tuner on a panthera would be if it would add any benefit if you had one custom made. Works wonders on powder burners. Are you using MRAD or MOA?
