I hope the sales rep are watching this, seems like they do a Friday job on these sub 12 ft, my FX impact MK2 is spot on,but I have seen a lot of problems with the panthera and for the price it's not acceptable.always enjoy your video's always fair and informative 👍
Have to say Im a big fan. You have an unusual cadence in your voice and delivery, but somehow its a perfect, direct and simple commentary on what you are doing and thus keeps me watching! Doesn't hurt that I have a very curious mind and a need to know how stuff works, particularly mechanical stuff and even more so airguns..having been a shooter and gun fiddler for many years! Keep up the good work Geoff and I'll keep watching the vids with much interest! 👍
Hi Geoff, another very informative video and explained perfectly,it's a bit worrying when a rifle of this quality and cost (around £1850 I'm guessing)gets sent out with loose and slack'ish bolts etc,I recently bought a Mk3 impact compact with bronze action brand new and I had similar issues however, once tightened up its like a lazer(unfortunately my shooting ability isn't as good as the gun)I'm really looking forward to seeing you're next offering, once again thanks for sharing you're expert advice and knowledge to us all, kind regards,Phil.
Another quality video Jeff & Jake. Really enjoyed shooting this last Saturday at PAGF, was lovely and at 50 yards pellet on pellet for me was really good.. thanks again - Paul..
I mean…what do you want for a £1900 “target” rifle ?! We all know this will be an impeccable rifle when you’re finished with it. Looking forward to this series fellas. Again fantastic work ❤️
Really enjoy watching your adventure with this rifle. Hope to see you tune the rifle to accomplish a 7mm (1/4") grouping at fifty yards every time. This channel has become one of my favorites on RU-vid.
I took alot of tension out of my magazines helped alot but still got more fliers than id like started using jsb heavys the skirts seem stronger and havnt had any as yet and feed better Great content 👌
At least this one is keeping you busy - the digital gauge is such an easy, yet useful upgrade. lets not talk about the hammer spring adjuster......thats just embarrassing for FX. Keep up the good work and thanks for posting.
so as usual an awesome job done my friend. however again a job that should not really need doing . i know for you it’s not about the warranty as fixing it for the better is your bag . but i feel sorry for the peps that have bought this rifle and it’s gone tits up . real shame because it’s a good rifle when it is good
Awesome work it sucks that you had to fix it to shoot well you always make every rifle you have better than the factory I can't wait for you to make your rifle from scratch that would be awesome thanks for sharing be safe buddy 👍 great info ty
Super interesting and professional, love your videos. What air rifle would you choose for using Straight out of the box ? I have 10 months too retirement and I'm going to treat myself to something special, your opinion would me very much appreciated, Thank you
Please hold whatever rifle first, checking weight and shape of each as such will be increasingly important as you get older. I have an issue with many makes of rifle but Air Arms have a good reputation and a number of very nice rifles beyond the 400/500 series.
Lovely post! I’m thinking of buying one or two myself for my Dynamic. But I don’t like the shiny bit of the gauge.. I see that you have a cover on the digital one, what brand is it? It looks carbon.. Best regards and thanks again! Stef
Hi there Thank you for your answer! I tried to get to B&K, but it seems they don’t have them.. Could you make two of them for me? Surely I’ll pay for them! Just give me the price! Don’t know if you do that.. So it’s only me asking. 😉
I tried to replace my regulator gauge with a digital one but could not get it to budge. The cresant wrench would not hold. I even added some thin rubber around the gauge for added grip. Someone said to use the proper size socket but the one I got would not fit between the gauges. At the time I just did not want to destroy the gauge on my new rifle. A technician at a FX dealer told me they are adding a drop of thread lock on the gauge. Did you find any such thing when you removed your gauge.
yes our one had some thread lock on but wasn't to bad to get off on our cricket we had to make a metal disk to fit in place of the plastic cover so it didn't distort when undoing with the cresant wrench
You aren't having much luck with this one at the moment are you?!? Usually you don't need much of an excuse to dismantle a gun, but this one is giving you loads.
I think the elephant in the room is the barrel. The gun is clearly shooting much better but not with an FX barrel. Are you going to try putting one of your better FX barrels back on it now the internals are sorted ?
The panthera is made to shoot slugs. Thats why the magazine is the way it is. I have to say, i've been shooting FX rifles for about 20 years now, they've been very reliable for me. More so than my BSA's, Hatsans and Weihrauchs. Completely free of problems, no, but accurate and reliable for sure. That said, the liner issue you had with this one is just stupid and should definatly have been caught at QC, or by the dealer that took it apart and put it back together, if applicable.
you made me think, over the years we have had 12 fx rifles we have some very good ones but we have had some not so good as well, i don't and never have liked the liner system in sub12 guns, it seems to work better in the HP guns or the ones i have shot anyway 😀 in sub 12 it's a bit of a lottery now with FX imo the last 3 we have had have all had QC issues and it's a shame because if you do get a good one they are fantastic guns 😀 thanks for watching
@@sub12airgunners Mine were all HP, i'm Dutch and we dont have power restrictions. Makes me wonder, do the sub 12 rifles go to a seperate department? If they do, maybe that is where the problem is. FX should probably look into that. I've had 11 of their rifles and the only one that persistently refused to be reliable was the Revolution. Currently i have my old typhoon still (for nostalgic reasons) and a maverick sniper. That maverick has been my main rifle since it came out, shot about 13k rounds through it and the only wear on it so far was a bent reloading rod. Took a couple thousand shots with a stronger hammer spring to reach 140+ fpe in .30 to do that, so i'm calling that "normal wear". I enjoy watching your videos, theyre informative and unbiased and you seem to have a lot of knowledge about what you're doing👍
im sticking with katrans you dont need to take them to bits every 5 minutes! were you going to make a reg tester for katrans by the way? i turned one of mine down the other week to squeeze a few more shots but its a pain in the ass with guess work, luckily got it bang on first go
Jeff, you know the problem I have trying to equip a FX Dreamline elite, SabreTactical with a front mounting for a sling! Well is it possible to attach a sling to the front of this rifle in order to shoot prone?
@@sub12airgunners Jeff I don't know if you have ever seen one of these! It's what I use instead of a full shooting jacket. It's far better especially when it's hot like now. It keeps the sling in place on my arm:
My local gun shop warned me not to buy FX ,he had a wealthy customer who was always buying new toys, high end shotguns and bullet rifles ,scopes, and all the kit that you can think of for shooting money was no object. He decided he wanted an air rifle so purchased a FX Impact + a top scope, + case, pellets targets, cleaning kit. Two days later he was back saying the rifle was not accurate and underpowered. Shop owner coronagraphed the rifle and it was doing less than 6ftlb 😳not wishing to loose a good customer he said no problem I will replace it 👍 Gets another Fx off the rack and the customer says can you put it on the crono please, and that one turns out underpowered 😳3 more come off the rack and all way underpowered and inconsistent. 5 new Impacts and not one fit for use🙄🙄
@@Tim_Bassett Sorry for embarassment , i have a local pcp, no magazine philippine made ,and made tight grouping no flyers under 10 mm grouping almost 7mm groups at 60 meters.. I have a new pcp now also made in indo, Very accurate at 50 to 100 meters.. And they are all cheap pcp but good quality..
