Ever wonder what the sound difference was between the 3.5L and 3.7L V6 engines offered by Nissan? Here’s the answer. Edit: new Instagram tag is @fx45life
As an fx 35 owner im excited about purchasing my qx70 this week. Dumb question? Is it too cheesy to get the qx70 same color as my 35 or should i go different?
@@Br99klynINg24_8 if you’re not a fan of the color of your current one, look around before you buy the QX70 and see if there’s one you like more. If not, go ahead and go for the one you’re looking at.
Looking to get a used 2006-2008 FX35 but most ive seen have between 130-150K miles on it.... Makes me nervous, but i know these go a long way if maintained.
There’s a few things to keep in mind at that mileage, but a well maintained Fx35 will go 250k+ easily. Keep watching, and if you’re willing to travel, you may find a good one. Also check out the FX Facebook groups. Sometimes a member has a nice one for sale
@@DWK33 I picked up a 2010 Fx35 with 130K on it, i put about 10K miles on it already... and just found out i have a slight blown head gasket... so i'm like FACK! The car is not overheating or anything, its just not recycling the coolant back into the radiation from the expansion tank. So far i'm not losing any coolant yet, but i poured in a bottle of k seal so until i decide what i need to be done.
My dad loves it. He bought it new in 2018, and has about 50,000 miles on it. He says it’s the best car he’s driven and owned. Last year, I traded my FX35 in for an FX45. I feel the same way
@@samthecarguy1143 nice trade. Yeah, what happens after an engine sits overnight is that most of the oil drains back into the pan. When starting for the first time after a while, it takes a few seconds for the oil to build up pressure. The tensioners rely on oil pressure so that's why they rattle for a few seconds until the oil pressure builds up. As the tensioners wear they need more pressure.
This is so weird. I have a 2017 QX50 and it sounds like your QX70. At start up it's noisy but quiets down after a 20/25 seconds. Why does it do this? I've ALWAYS owned a Nissan (different models) and they NEVER did this. Why do they start up so noisy and then simmer down to the proper tone.
They use the 3.7L from the 370Z and a similar exhaust system as the Z. Probably something with the cold start has something to do with it. The 70 and 50 are both hidden sports cars 😂
The ones in the 04 are from the 05-08 with sport upgrades. And the ones in the 17 are part of the limited package. You can buy them from a local dealership. First gens are about $700 for all four, and limiteds are about $1000 if I remember correctly.
If y'all ever started a FX45 or a FX50 up and drove either one ,Y'all would RUN away from the V6 ...V8 only! V8 turns this car into the sport car it was made to be !!
Not 100% sure. I’ve been told it was the catalytic converter hear shields rattling, and also that it was the lifters rattling. The car sat for a week and a half without running at that time as I was out of town with my parents on a vacation and left it at their house. This day was also particularly cold. l notice while I owned it it only did it when it was cold and had been sitting for a long time.
Cold start rattle. Timing chain tensioners rely on oil pressure. Need to be replaced before the timing chain jumps. These are interference engines and if the chain jumps, it will more than likely cause the valves to hit the pistons.
