Hey Man Just saw the video love it Im looking to get one what should I look out for and how's it holding up Im looking at an 06 model fx45 with 167k kms
I’m currently at 136k miles. It’s had some issues here and there over the years but for the most part it’s been decently solid. Have had issues with wheel bearings, alternator, and the cam and crank sensors. This particular one had rust issues when I bought it from ohio, but they haven’t gotten much worse over the 4 years. It’s a perfect weekend car which is what I use it for now. I may put 5,000 miles a year on it where as when I bought it, I was putting close to 20k a year on it.
I find it impressive that someone with Down syndrome manages to incorporate something like that, When I look at your engine compartment and how dirty it is and you probably do that often, driving around in the mud, I don't know how healthy that is for this open intake and how quickly it gets dirty
How's the battery when you not running the engine did you update or you thinking about it or you wanna put it extra one in the trunk? I am owner owner off FX 35 2010 ! and my battery dying on me every three years if I push five I am sorry later even I use the best in the market ! Because such a small place for the battery is not too many choices for us to update the biggest one to have problem resolve! my question is were you idea about the battery problems
I still have the battery I got it with in 2020. The battery is either a 2019 or 2020. The only time it has died on me was when I let it sit for a month and a half without a battery tender, but a jump start got it fired right up and haven’t had an issue since. Most batteries now a days only last 3-5 years now. You might have a ghost draw on the charge.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t listen to the songs from the game while driving it on fun curvy roads 😂😂 even in that game it was an op, only the Cayenne based Gemballa was better n my opinion. That game also gave me a special love for Cayenne turbos 😂 but they maintain a high value
I LOVE the RX8 wheels. I had them on my 2014 Mazda 3 sGT for the summers. I just bought a 24 CX50 TPP in December. Traded in my 21 CX30 TPP. I just purchased the Falken WildPeaks in 245/50/20 and am having installed next Saturday.
You’ll want to get your speedometer recalibrated with the larger tires, I never did and my speedometer is off slightly since the overall diameter is slightly smaller than the original 20s since you’re bumping up, you’re speed will read slower than you are actually going. I live my wildpeaks!
Still doing awesome! Had it cleaned during one of my last oil changes, but the car is still running beautifully, and the sound is still awesome and makes me smile
Thank you. Youre speaking my language.. ive had my 08 infiniti fx35 over 10 years. I love it. Easy to work on.. Currently 219921 miles on her. I done a muffler delete, painted several times along with rims. Im lookinf for a fx45 now. And like you said.. i dont ever ever ever plan on getting rid of her 😂Yours sound great. Thanks
Both are pretty reliable. They both have their own issues, but the 35 uses the VQ35DE out of the 350Z and I’ve seen those engines go 700k+ miles. The vk45 (FX45) wasn’t as popular so finding them with really high mileage isn’t super common.
Nice review. I just bought my wife a one owner, garage kept in Fl., flawless 2007 FX35 with 150k miles for $5400. I drove it home about an hr. away and I've decided I'm going to look for a FX45 to have as a spare. Very nice car! Oh, the rear seats can be pushed forward with two levers from the back hatch on the right and left side.
They really are. I’ve had both the 35 and the 45. I definitely prefer the 45. Did I forget to mention the levers in the back to drop the seats? That’s my mistake.
I'm not a mechanic- so WHAT Is that and what exactly does it DO ? How much of an "improvement" is it for real?? I love to hear about anything that can make a car BETTER than it was...
I’ll do my best to give a decent detailed description: What it is: it’s an aftermarket air intake for the engine. What does it do: in general, an air intake is piping that allows air to go into the engine. Gasoline powered Internal combustion engines need 3 things to operate: 1: air 2: fuel 3: spark. The air and fuel compress inside of the engine in cylinders with the use of a piston. This aftermarket air intake has more opening and allows more air to go into the combustion chamber but to see any signify differences would require updating the car’s engine computer to account for added air. My CX-50 is turbocharged, which means that it has this little rounded case with a small fan built into it that spins by passing the exhausted gasses over a turbine connected to it. What this does is as the exhaust gasses pass through the device and spin the fan, the fan pulls in more air and forces it into the engine. This is significant because more air+more fuel=more power. Turbos because they suck in air make a whooshing sound as you hit the gas, the more you push the gas pedal, the more air is allowed into the engine which pushes more over the turbine causing it to suck in even more air making more and louder turbo noise. On this particular turbo set up, when let off the gas pedal, the excess air that was brought into the turbo that is no longer needed is released through a pressure release valve. When it dumps the air out it makes a fun SPSHHHHHHHH sound. So with this, it makes driving it more fun with the added turbo noises and also can give you somewhere between a 3-10hp boost depending on what you do. It also allows for an increase in torque if I remember correctly as well. Hope I was able to answer your questions. Feel free to ask me anything else you’d like to know about it or the car in general, love getting to share the knowledge and information when I can! 🤙🏼
Easy mistake when you forget to look it up before and go off the previous Mustang’s performance. These came out in 03 during the sn-95 model year. Also thought the 05 was under 300hp.
You’ll have to verify that, but it is something that alters the initial design of the intake system, so there’s a chance it could affect the engine/drivetrain warranty. Personally, I decided I trust Mazda reliability as well as CorkSport enough to risk it. I’m at almost 40k miles with 0 issues from the car as of this comment.
To my knowledge there isn’t an orange drl. The orange light at the turn signals only turn on with the headlights. You can turn off the drls in settings though
You’re very welcome, I spent time with it and learned as much as I could because the dealership didn’t know much about it when I got mine. Since this video I’ve found even more handy features in it as well. If you to to the too screen, I believe (maintenance settings or vehicle info) then go down to maintenance details, it will show you your tire pressures. I learned that late last year after having the car about 8 months.
They’re fairly rare and they didn’t make a lot of them over the 03-08 run, so it’s always fun when I get to share mine with others. In 09 they were replaced by the FX50 which had a 5.0L V8. They sold those from 09-13, then changed the name to QX70S in 14. After 2014 they didn’t make the V8s and sold them only with the 3.7L until the end of production in 2017. For those who love the FX, seeing the 45 is quite the treat.
One thing he did not mention is that on regular 87 octane it gets 227hp and 310lb ft torque. As for the non-turbo base model up to the preferred plus, those come with 17" alloy wheels. The 20" wheels come on the non-Turbo premium, premium plus, Turbo, Turbo Premium, and Turbo Premium Plus. Only Turbo Meridian has 18" alloy wheels with falcon tires.
New, Infiniti hasn’t made a the FX/QX70 since 2017. The V8 version ended in 2014. You can’t find the FX45s because of 2 reasons: 1 they are rare, 2, when people buy them they tend to keep them till they either get totaled, or don’t run anymore, or they just can’t keep it anymore.
@Sam, The Car Guy i see. That totally sucks. I searched for 2 weeks straight and the conspiracy is they're all at global motor group in jersey but when I look the place up the reviews say it's scammy and doesn't even exist. My bad for paragraphs I'm set on getting one but alas it seems I have to settle for the 35 as there are many more available. Appreciate you thank you for answering and not being a robot 🙏
1:13 not gonna lie, midnight club 3 was the same reason I love these cars. I bought a Honda Odyssey partially for the same reason because it was the traffic in midnight
Wow, that looks very good! I think I would like to do something similar, but I like the black Mazda wheels, if I could find some. I have the zircon sand version and the black wheels would look sweet. Anyway, thanks for the video! New sub!
There’s a guy up in Canada with a zircon CX-50 who powder coated a set of RX-8 wheels black and out them on his. It’s actually where I got the idea for mine. You can see pics of his on instagram @taywward.fc if you want to go 17”, there’s numerous people with the lower trim that comes with the black 17s that people are willing to trade the 20s for.
They use a similar V6 Engine. The R35 uses a twin turbo 3.8L VR38DETT and the FX35 uses a naturally aspirated 3.5L VQ35DE which is the same engine in the 350Z.
I was happy I was able to find it that time, now before I hit the trails, I take it off and put it in the car. It’s currently sitting on my passenger side rubber floor mat from an off road adventure I had yesterday
@@samthecarguy1143 I got my CX50 on December 4th. So whenever I get my first oil change I’ll try and see if I can purchase another one. I just don’t know how I lost it. I could’ve lost it at a car wash, someone could’ve taken it, no telling! I just didn’t discover it quick enough!
@@eleanormassaro5195 it’s easy to lose them. They can easily pop out if you scrape the hitch on the ground rather that be off road, or a driveway, or enough force pushing against it from water or something similar.
I now have a set of 235/55R18 falken wildpeaks on it with a set of RX-8 wheels I bought off a friend. It’s much better off road now. Need to get some videos and make a video
