I have an FX45 myself and while I hate to admit it, I have to agree the 35 does sound better. I have a Flowmaster 80 series muffler sitting in my garage waiting to go on
Nissan did an excellent job with the exhaust system on the VQ engine for the Z, G35, and FX35. It’s one of my favorite V6 engine sounds. The V8 I think could sound better, but it needs a lot of aftermarket exhaust work to do so. Correct me if I’m wrong, but everything behind the headers I believe is the same exhaust system for the V6 and V8
I, too, have the FX45. Can you recommend an exhaust system that sounds good but not obnoxious? I love my car. I just want to give it a little growl without deleting the muffler.

Neither one of these even come close to sounding as good as my 03 45. People in sports cars look when I start it...maybe I'll post mine. And no 35 is gonna sound better than that V8..exhaust or not sorry. Got a G35 with muffler delete and X pipes..stop it
I did a muffler delete on the FX45 in December and it really livened it up. You should definitely get a rev clip of yours and post it with the exhaust system you have to help others when they decide on their exhaust system.
You know what, I agree with you on the exhaust sound of your 03 FX45, cause I bought FX45 (2004) in 2016 and then I bought another FX45 (2005) in 2021, my 2004 sounded much better than 2005. I think 03 and 04 got different exhaust. it growls more than it whines, if I am explaining it right.
They use a similar V6 Engine. The R35 uses a twin turbo 3.8L VR38DETT and the FX35 uses a naturally aspirated 3.5L VQ35DE which is the same engine in the 350Z.
New, Infiniti hasn’t made a the FX/QX70 since 2017. The V8 version ended in 2014. You can’t find the FX45s because of 2 reasons: 1 they are rare, 2, when people buy them they tend to keep them till they either get totaled, or don’t run anymore, or they just can’t keep it anymore.

I searched for 2 weeks straight and the conspiracy is they're all at global motor group in jersey but when I look the place up the reviews say it's scammy and doesn't even exist. My bad for paragraphs I'm set on getting one but alas it seems I have to settle for the 35 as there are many more available. Appreciate you thank you for answering and not being a robot 🙏
They’re fairly rare and they didn’t make a lot of them over the 03-08 run, so it’s always fun when I get to share mine with others. In 09 they were replaced by the FX50 which had a 5.0L V8. They sold those from 09-13, then changed the name to QX70S in 14. After 2014 they didn’t make the V8s and sold them only with the 3.7L until the end of production in 2017. For those who love the FX, seeing the 45 is quite the treat.
