First flight of the FX9630 RC Twin 30mm EDF. Made of EPP it's very crash proof as I discovered! A model of the 5th gen Chinese J20 Fighter, a competitor to the F35 and F22. It looks the part in the air.

If you still have this model just wanted to sugget try flying in mainly c mode as that is the easiest setting and A mode can be used for inverted flight etc. i thought a mode was the easiest gyro setting but its not c mode is. I noticed it didn't even steer right in a mode because it wasnt trimmed right but im a mode it didnt matter once it was in the air

Interesting. "C" mode t9 me was BEAST mode. No to little gyro and and blamo fell out of sky. I only do C when im hi in the sky!😮

I haven’t tried adding weight yet to mine. I have found that giving full power and pulling the stick back all the way can get the plane into a high alpha. But it’s hard to get out of it. I also found that I could fly it missing a vertical stabilizer and it seemed to have no effect on the flight characteristics.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Transitioning from high alpha to "normal" is always interesting! The craft needs forward momentum to get air over the control surfaces for it to respond which can only be achieved in a perilous dive!!

@@1nformatica absolutely. I’ve managed to get it back to normal flight only two times out of the several times I’ve done this. I’d definitely say the weight in the plane needs to be redistributed and shifted slightly forward. I saw someone do something similar with an older AirHogs RC plane, (except the weight was shifted towards the rear). Anyway, this guy cut open the plane and moved the battery thereby shifting the weight and not adding any more than the plane already carried.

You're welcome! The FX9630 protocol is now included in the latest release of firmware 1.3.3.33, Protocol number 58,FX,816,620,9630. I haven't tried it yet so may do a video. Have a great day!!

What is the flight time? Can a more powerful battery be used to increase flight time? Thanks.

Flight time depends on your flying style! If you take off from the ground and rag the thing around with aggressive maneuvers then about 4 minutes. Hand launch and fly gently 6 to 8 minutes. It appears a little tail heavy so a bigger battery may help with that. The supplied battery is a 2S 300 mAh, and there is a little space for a bigger pack maybe 450 mAh. This is an awesome little jet! I have one and it definitely needs a little extra weight in the nose. I also want to know how to bind to a jumper t pro or t16 pro but not sure how to compile the FW file from RC Groups. I hope they add this protocol to an official release soon. I did notices there are some empty ports on the board inside the plane…. Could any of these be sbus ports like in some of the other tiny planes like the cartoon fatty Corsair???

We are interested in the info about binding this to a Multi Radio Me Old China? I see that someone has posted some work on the FX protocol on Github (all Greek to us Old Fossils! 😉) but I presume that it is not available in any Released Firmware yet? We're actually interested not for this but for the FX9603 little 3-ch brushless Cub. Not that it is really necessary even there as we have just got in a couple more of the little PCA S-FHSS receivers for the onboard S-bus sockets on that and a couple others of our more recent sub-250gm toys.

@@LiamHeld73As with any pre release code it may have bugs. It's not like your tx will burst into flames but just be prepared for the odd glitch. You can always go back to previous firmware.

I think when I have it set up on the Radiomaster with rates and expo it will be a lot smoother, remember this was my first flight!! And it's an EDF!!

He's flying in the hardest gyro setting that allows for inverted flight at any time if decides I thought a was the beginner mode as well it's not. C is a super easy mode and feels similar to eaachince 400mm but faster.
