It's coming up on springtime so that means I'm back once again with the videos. Today I document myself totally rebuilding my FXR's wiring harness from the ground up. I focused on the handlebar controls today but there is plenty more still to go so please be looking out as there will be a bunch of videos coming about this new bike I picked up! Nice work! Looks like the wiring will turn out clean. I’m doing the same wiring project on my 97FXDL. I also have the m-unit. How did you get the stock Harley controls to work with the momentary ground that the m-unit needs? I’m just curious as wiring is my next step. Thanks in advance!

Thanks! I actually just finished up the harness for it a few days ago. For the controls i I just tied one side of all the switches into one wire for the ground and then ran the other side to the corresponding port on the m unit. A lot simpler when you look at it in terms of just completing the circuit compared to switching 12v between every switch. Lmk if that helps. I appreciate the comment and sub!

@@low.budget.customs hey being that the oem controls colours don’t line up with your m unit coloured wires how did you know what each wire did? Do you have a diagram that shows colour code for each stock wire?? If so can you send it to me?

Nice job I have 89 fxrs I’m rebuilding from the ground up , did the wiring diagram u have come with the m- unit for did u find it somewhere else, appreciate your info if u can

Greetings, I'm about to start my harness and bought the m.buttons but found them to be tiny so I returned them. My question is how to deal with the non momentary power button on the stock Harley switch housing.does it actially have to be momentary? Also the low/high beam button which is a three way switch? Any advise is appreciated.
