@@ahxpluhh i think each person will have little bit different experience due to the ingredients ,but probably 2-3 months on average . Ive never timed it TBH but thinking about it ive probably filled them 3-4 times a year.

Hey andre, I appreciate ya coming by here. did you mean a 5.5 Lit. LBS would be for a fill that you would get at a shop, they run in lb. so it sounds like your can is set up for a traditional system if you ment lbs. if it is a DIY set up im not sure what the lbs translates to in materials as i do not have a way to know other then the gauges that set on the tank after the reaction. if it is a DIY set up i would consult the maker of the unit. Hey Ninjaflex, I think youll need to run a lil more then 1 bubble per second.. but that will also depend on your flow in your tank and how it disperses the Co2 if you have good flow around the tank 1 bubble might be sufficient. BUT to answer your question. MY tank literally just died from the day i made this video and i run 2-3 bubbles a sec. so assuming you could run 1 bubble and get the results you want id say between 3-4 months . so 3-4 time a year. it lasts quite a long time if you run it everyday for say 8 hours a day , and ill say theres been some days mine has been on for longer so you should def get 3 solid months from 1 fill for sure , 4 months + if you run it light. Hey @Cat Thanks for the question . Its 1 stage regulator BUT hear me out... with DIY Co2 Im not sure Ive ever seen a 2 stage regulator that wasnt homemade. a working pressure adjustment adjust the pressure the regulator handles. In a diy system those pressures dont exceed 600 psi. so the regulator just puts it out on the higher end of things setting at almost 50 psi output. untill the pressure in the tank is below 50psi. meaning your due for a refill anyway and you dont need to adjust the working pressure. The needle valve adjust the OUTPUT pressure to your diffuser so you just need to figure out what your bubble count you need for your tank on THIS system is and you can either buy a co2 testing kit or use a co2 bubble inside your tank to measure. With that said the pressures inside a conventional liquid co2 system solely depends on temp. as the liquid warms it expands into a gas and those pressures can get up to like 1600 psi.. thats why you need a working pressure adjustment as 1600 psi would probably blow the regulator, needle valve, disc off the diffuser and your fish out the water. if that makes sense. IF your running a conventional system stick with it if you can get fills and can afford the system itself. DIY Co2 is aimed at people who can not get conventional system refills - remote living- people who like to tinker and people who are just getting into Co2. it sounds like your past the beginner stages BUt this system would Def work for you in a pinch if you couldn't get a fill or your regulator broke and you needed to span the time between equipment changes that sort of thing this system is a great back up and even fun to just run on a less serious tank for fun! Hello - sorry for the late reply.Ive got somethings ive been dealing with here. But to answer your question .. the short answer is yes. The calculation in the video is for " Maximum " Co2 output for the ingredients to use them. the variable for you would be the system, Can the system handle max output or have they purposefully altered the ingredients for their system pressures. I would assume you have a pressure relief on a system that big?!?! You dont wanna play around with a 12l system thats a big tank and the reaction is gonna happen very fast. so make sure you have your ducks in a row before you filler up. Hope that helps you .

Hello Christopher. thanks for the comments and questions and stopping by to watch! To Answer your questions, As long as your Pressure relief valve does not pop open you are ok on pressure, That valve will pop open if there becomes to much pressure in the tank. its ok if its over the green area - mine usually stops around 400 or a little after. The way weve set up the Acid and Sodium were getting a maximum reaction with the materials we put into the tank, so theres very little waisted material. your thought about the liters is incorrect- 600 liters would be about 159 gallons of material.. thats incredibly to much . IF you look in the instructions it will give you a different formula like 600/800 - so thus is the reason Ive used Science mole numbers to create the proper formula for maximum Co2 Production. Hey thanks for the comments to answer your question. The reaction starts so fast that it really dosnt matter the order, but if you wanted to get tech.. the soda is the fizz so I'd say put that in first so the acid gives you a .00001 sec buffer ...lol just gotta be quick with getting that top screwed on , make sure to fit it before hand.

To Answer your Questions, The difference between the 2.5 and the 4L is strictly volume inside the can and how many times you will be refilling it. for your 125 L i would suggest using the 4L can. each fill will last you probably around 3-4 months of use before needing to refill depending on how fast ya get that cap on after pouring the water hahahaha - I hope that helps ya!! :) Enjoy!!

@@petek7822 I truly think you'll be much happier with the 4L tank considering the size. the 2.5 L is a great unit, but i wouldn't want to run it on anything bigger then say a 75 liter tank.

Thats a great question @rektful - and YES basically. Over the month or 2 or even 3 or 4 depending on your use .. youll see the gauges drop to 0 or close to 0 - More importantly you wont be able to put anymore Co2 into the tank at a stable level.. meaning your drops per sec are not constant. At that point- Disconnect the Co2 line at the bubble counter and open the valve all the way to let the rest of the Co2 out so the bottle is all the way empty of any gases . At that point you can disconnect the solenoid power cord and twist off the cap to empty and re-fill. Just make sure to clean the threading on the bottle really good and test fit the cap again to make sure the threads are smooth. Hope that helps. good luck!!

@@JayRockDoesStuff 2 more questions: if there where a power outage, the solenoid doesnt get power which in turn co2 wont be injected to the tank, is this correct or wrong? 2nd question, I'm pretty paranoid in the thought of co2 killing my fish, I've researched something called "End of tank dump" where co2 drops below a certain pressure where the regulator cannot even regulate. As a result in releases a huge burst of co2 at once which can gass out the fish. Is this a concern for this kit? Should I be worried about it?

@@rektful Sorry for the late reply- I had written a lengthily response right after you had asked this and You Tube Glitched and erased my entire response- I haven't had time to come back to this untill now. This is a great few questions and the fact your doing your own research before you get into this. Yes the power outage would turn OFF the Co2- this can be undone by removing the solenoid and attaching the bubble counter to the needle valve if you needed Co2 without power. The End of the Tank dump is a very real thing and im glad youve read about it. With that said- Ive never experienced dump in my Gens - but 2 things you can do to avoid this.. 1 pay attention to your levels- when it gets low dump it yourself and refill it so its a controlled dump and nothing is wasted. The other thing is the dump kills tanks that run it really lean - meaning they are running it to the brink before gassing out fish in general so the dump just send it over board. I run my Co2 on the lower end. so if my tank were to dump.. i dont think it would effect my tank to much. I haven't heard of any gens dumping so it might be isolated to the bigger regulators on a regular system. but always run on the side of caution. @@rektful also get you a Co2 drop checker so you know what your levels are in the tank put it on the oposing side of the tank from the diffuser so you know where the entire tank sit. when it goes from blue to green youve put enough co2 in

Is this your first time using it? If so, either you mismeasured your ingredients or you might have a loose safety valve, meaning it's poping prematurely. If this your first time. I would reach out to who you bought it from and explain and see what they say.

@xplore7359 reach out to who ever you bought it from they should have a fix for you. These valves don't t go bad to often but if you have a bad one you want that replaced. Hope it gets fixed up for ya.

Hello @Tasos_ . Thanks for watching and great question . The answer is yes. If you would not like to use the solenoid the Bubble counter can connect directly to the needle valve And be controlled that way. However IF you choose to do that the input of Co2 will differ from day to day based on where your needle valve is. I would suggest timing your bubbles per second like a beat of a song, so you know your outputting the same amount each day. Hope this answers your question and helps you out!!

@@JayRockDoesStuff Thank you very much. So the biggest disadvantage if I remove the solenoid part is that I will have to adjust manually the bubble counter and make sure it will dose the same amount of Co2 every time i open it.

@@JayRockDoesStuff Also i have another question. I found another Co2 sustem like this one but smaller with the bottle only 1 litre which is fine for me since i have only a 10 gallon planted tank. And it doesnt have the solenoid part and some other stuff that dont actually need but it also doesn't have a safery valve. And that's make me a bit worried. Is there a chance these things to explode or something? how important is the safety valve? Thank you again for helping me. You are amazing :)

@@Tasos_ If im being honest with you - The safety valve In MY opinion is probably the most important thing on the unit. IF you want to run a Co2 without a safety valve I would suggest you lookin to another method Like Sugar and yeast in a 1 liter pop bottle and save yourself a ton of money on even buying a unit and just empty a pop bottle. hook a hose and diffuser. to it and it will produce Co2 and put it directly in your tank at a much slower level. Citric acid CO2 causes a reaction that disperses a gas at a high rate of speed into the canister and pressure is built very quickly. Without a safety valve you Risk an explosion from that pressure- a safty valve ensures that will never happen. Better Safe then sorry!! However... with that said. a 1 liter bottle will not last you as long as yould think or like. I would suggest you get the biggest bottle you can afford and have room for regardless of the size of tank you plan to run it on. One of the biggest detraction's from DIY Co2 is having to do refills to often and if you have a small tank you will find yourself running out of Co2 alot and that will turn you off from Co2 and not give your tank the best results because you will have days where your tank is not being ran because you need to refill over and over. I hope this help you understand more, please keep researching till you know what your getting into here and feel comfortable with it. I think its important to compare units to one another so you can make a good decision when you buy. I am very happy with the FZone gens i have been running for a few years now and would recommend them to you and i dont offer recommendations lightly. hope this helps you . :)

Hey thanks for the comments. You do not have to wait. Once you've got the cap on really well you can use it. the majority of the reaction will take pace in the first 24 hours although it will continue to make co2 at much slower levels inside once the majority of the reaction is done. @@alebaratto1262 What size is your co2 container and what size is your fish tank? and how many bubbles per second are you using. That seem a lil short time wize unless your usen a small unit on a big tank. .. my 4L last about 3-4 months. .So your 1 month seema lil short, you might check for leaking with soap& water sprayed on all the joints to see if they leak by showing it bubbling.

The filter keeps the regulator from getting anything in it or crystalizing . if you forgot and i was you id probably run the cycle and hope nothing happens and get it put in there as soon as possible. Id also take EXTRA care to not tip it or get any of the liquid inside near the regulator, not having the filter in there could be damaging. ITs really your choice at this point to either lose the fill and get it put in there to ensure your regulator doesn't get damaged or risk it and hope nothing happens and be able to use the fill.. im not sure theres a positive answer either way ...

Nick- Thanks for watching the video and the question . TBH -Im not sure, I dont think that is normal. If im not mistaken , those are venting holes.. Maybe you got a bad regulator. I would contact Fzone or the company you got it from and see what they say. Ive never experienced this or herd of it.

@@nickraynor2434 you output will vary from mine.. due to position of your airator in the tank and set up, your light and other factors. Get yourself a drop checker. This will tell you when your tank has hit optimum Co2 with a color change of the liquid. To help you understand where it needs to be, Start with 1 bubble per second and see how you tank handles that , if its not enough bump it up from there. Use the drop checker to your advantage. I run about 1-2 a sec in a 40 gal breeder with med to high lights I also feed my tank liquid ferts like niloc G or easy green usually weekly But just play with it and when your tank is doing well leave it alone :) hope you get all figured out. lemme know if i can help anymore ;)

Thanks for your question. I used translate to understand what your saying, so hopefully this helps you. For every 1 gram of citric acid you use , you will need 1.3 grams of baking soda for max Co2. so if you use 100 grams of citric acid, you will use 130 grams of Baking soda, so based on what you have you will use 230 grams of citric acid and the 300 grams of baking soda with your water. Hope this helps you.

@@JP-vb4ky - Im gonna try to do some general aquarium stuff.. in my fish room as i always have something going on. I would like to do more unboxing and setup / modification videos. But when it comes to like telling someone how to say maintain their tank or how to grow plants or how to medicate fish exc.. like logistics of fish keeping, Ive found there are several ways to achieve the end goal and those processes have been evolving for years and years and years and so what works for me may not work for you so ill probably stay away from those types of videos when it comes to fish keeping. But i would love to do more product testing for aquatic company's and unboxings for sure! thanks for the nice comment i appreciate that!

@@JayRockDoesStuff Yes i know, the calculation is something i didnt know and is good to hear. But i was talking about what you said and showed about the standard mixing instructions. You said there 600 A and 800 B, but i was just pointing out that my "manual" said 600 till 800 gram for both and 800 - 1200 ml water.

@@Ray47nl Right and if you look at the label under the top of the container itll say something different , so how do you know how much to put in ? the answer is what i explained in the video.. you can calculate for more water/mass if you'd like. The water is just what activates the materials that react inside. if you were to put 800 and 800 yould have material that never gets used inside wasted like 40 grams of waste.. so this is why i gave the calculation for co2 based on science. so you can either add material to used the wasted 40 grams or subtract the 40 grams out.. If that makes more sense hopefully?
