Eurovision is a circus :( This song is fantastic, absolutely no idea how it finished last

because it was very underwhelming, this is like a metal song that lacks power, there is a very good song hidden somewhere here but it felt so lackluster, personal opinion

unfortunately, 11th in every country = 0 points. it just wasn't enough people's favorite anywhere. It's my #2 this year, but I wouldn't expect everyone to like this style

I'm crazy about Scandinavian folk metal, it's gorgeous! In Russia there are also many folk metal artists in the style of Slavic mythology, the style is very similar (although I know that everyone hates us). I will root for Norway in the final, Gåte deserved to win! 🇳🇴

Something tells me this song will start the revelation of what you and I seek in the whole world . Quality over Quantity will prevail again soon enough.

The only good thing about this song is Gunnhild's voice. Besides that, it lacks an instrumental melody. There's close to zero chance of Norway winning, and this is a fair result. Norwegians should be happy if it ends up on the left side of the scoreboard. However, I do believe Ulveham deserves a spot in the final. There is so much trash this year. Even Sweden couldn't come up with a decent contribution but needed, ironically enough, help from Norway.

the song is inspired from a hundreds of years old scandinavian ballad about a girl being cursed, turned to a wolf by her stepmother and cast out into nature, but the girl eats her stepmother in the end. and the singer also uses traditional vocalization that used to be sung out in nature to call out to the farm animals when they were to return home. especially used in valley and mountainous landscapes because the sound carries so well and echoes far

I hope that's not reflective of Gåte's overall chances on Saturday, but I fear it might be despite _Ulveham's_ internet popularity over the last couple of weeks. ☹ I first heard Gåte about 17 years ago when the promo track _Kringelhauk_ was used on a fan-made video for _Freespace 2._ It was a more ambient sound that reminded me of mid-80s Tangerine Dream but with Gunnhild's increasingly raw vocals going full Björk towards the end, the combination was like nothing I'd heard before. I listened to a few more of their early tracks but learned that they'd split up in 2005 so didn't really think much about them after that. So having recently discovered that not only had they reformed (twice!) but were in this year's ESC, I've been stanning for _Ulveham_ ever since, hoping for it to win because it's bloody awesome and so unique. But if I'm being honest, having now heard all of the finalists, there are a lot of very strong contenders this year whose material arguably ticks more of the traditional Eurovision boxes. Despite Gåte being the darlings of RU-vid in recent weeks (or at least the bits of it that the algorithm serves up to me) I'm beginning to feel that _Ulveham_ is probably a bit too much of an outlier for this year. The strange voting system won't help either. But I guess there's always the chance of a Lordi-style surprise win. This is Eurovision after all. If it was a popular online vote I think Gåte would be in with a really strong chance. Still going to have my fingers crossed for them on Saturday. I know I should be rooting for the UK but our entry is just too vanilla in comparison. (And I just realised they're right next to each other in the running order. 😆)

Make sure to attend at least one of their five concerts in Germany on their European tour in December, you won't regret it! And also check out the acoustic version of "Ulveham" on their channel as well as the original full-length version, if you haven't already done so.
