I'm really happy I backed de DeLuxe Edition. One of the best looking games of all time IMHO.

What's the difference with the normal retail version?

Yeah, we just had a game the other day that was decided by one player changing the dice just before the last round. It adds a nice strategic element to the game.

yes, i's a race for those chase gifts, it's awesome, too bad I almost always end up with 3 matching cards I have to discard for the others to tkae LOL. It's a fantastic game.

That's the retail one. The DeLuxe versions has all of it's components upgrades, and is a thing of beauty! I'm really glad I backed it.

Shlomi Ben-Naim they need to control the distribution of the videos over the course of the week while they are on the cruise. This way there is a constant stream of videos being put out rather than one large dump. It’s kind of like an annuity of content.

The dice add a level of strategy to the game - do you take an action that might earn you another servant and earn three points? You need to select the cards from the board so it isn't that random, not unlike paying to take a higher card to take a better action next round.

@@andrewv3515 I know that's the theory, but in my experience, it's just random who gets the most opportunities to win the prize each round.

Also, don't forget that if you have a card in your hand that's one of the numbers in the destiny dice, you can always do an "equal or lower value" trade and discard that card straight to your pile. It's a tactic I've used a couple of times!

The game is all about weighing benefits. Most cases you will be taking a sub par option (for your strategy) in order to get a card that's valued highly that round. In my games, typically a different person will grab the cards each round, either they're focusing on it, or something different. There's an element of randomness and luck to it, sure, but the reward is a servant or two, maybe 3 points and bump on the track, good sure, but maybe by skipping it that turn you ran the river and unlocked the double servant that's going to improve every future turn instead. It doesn't seem that swingy to me. Also, it's possible to mitigate it at least once if you have enough Intrigue saved up, you can change a die face.

I agree. I have played it twice (5P and 4P) and come to the same conclusion. By far it is my least favorite aspect of the game. You can mitigate the dice to some extent but that takes a very devoted strategy to do so, which feels like more work than it's worth.
