After catching many peacock bass shown in the last video, I went on a search for some snook. I fished the G-15 canal (North New River Canal) in Sunrise, FL and landed 2 Smallscale Fat Snook. I free lined live shiners that I bought from BJ's Bait and Tackle with 4 lb fluorocarbon. They fought very hard on light tackle! Hope you enjoy!
Rod: Okuma Celilo, UL, 6'6, 2 Pieces
Reel: Kastking Centron 500
Line: Berkley Vanish 4lbs test Fluorocarbon line
Bait/Terminal Tackle: Free lining live shiners using Mustad size 6 shiner hooks

Wow I didn't know you catch them in these canals. Max yesterday they were catching the almaco jacks at angling pier. The day we were there they said they were amberjacks but PEOPLE said they ars not amberjacks wich have to be 28 inches. They said these only have to be 14 inchec . Not too many but a few were caught.

Thanks for the support! In the canals, look for bridges because there are lots of snook stacked under them. The spot I'm at is the G-15 canal in Sunrise, FL. Look for any bridges and you'll find it! 🙂

Brought back some great memories for me. Grew up in West Miami back in the 1960's fishing the Tamiami Canal for bass and finally caught my first snook where the canal went under the on-ramp bridge to the Palmetto Expressway. Still remember that I caught it on a yellow Heddon Baby Zara.
