The G-9000 was my first G shock. This female loves chunky watches and this model has served me well for over 7 years of daily hard use. And I am still using the original battery. As a beater watch its fabulous, but as you so accurately the buttons are so hard to manipulate and I have arthritis which complicates things. I have been looking for something about nicer, so recently purchased a GSG 100 Mudmaster blacked-out version which I love for daily use. Thank you for these great tutorials which are great for those of us who can never locate the original manual. New sub.
One of my Favorite watches. I love the blacked out version. In my opinion these earlier Mudman versions are the best & a much more streamlined watch. Thanks for the video!
Ahhh no.I had one and I gave it to a friend who works in waste management. The screen was too small but very rugged watch. I personally like the digi-analog models.
Omg, thank you so much! I picked this up from Walmart on clearance and the manual in it was for a DIFFERENT watch! So nothing matched up! Without this tutorial video, I don't think I'd EVER figure this thing out!
I like your honest videos , mentioning pros as well as cons. I have the mudman in a more attractive version ( positive display, white engraving, red buttons ) and its brother the G9100 gulfman. I love both, they are affordable and very solid.
I have this model in black with red button version..bought it in 2012..really solid & affordable watch..just change the battery, band & bezel in olive colour just like yours
Thanks for this video, the booklet that came with the watch has such small print I had a lot of trouble reading it. You cleared up a lot of problems I was having. Also you have very well maintained nails. 👍🍸
I had the red / black pattern for 5 years, day by day. Then I took the pattern on black. I mean, I did not change the battery to any of them ... very reliable.
Worn it everyday for 8 years now. On every extreme situation. As a paratrooper, this watch has been with me through mud, saltwater, freshwater, desert, tropical jungle, out of plane, and winter. Really tough watch. Replaced the band last year. However, it gets a little bit foggy sometimes. Maybe some parts inside was worn out. Any suggestions on fixing it?
Excelente video!! Me fue de mucha utilidad, gracias por compartir. Yo tengo un reloj igual y tenía algunas dudas, pero ya las resolví, es de fácil comprensión tu tutorial. Felicitaciones!! Greetings from MÉXICO!!!!!
I was about to buy this watch a few months back until i realized how difficult it is to press the mud resistant buttons. Went for the 5610 instead. But other than the buttons it looks amazing on the wrist
Jim there’s a hack for this. I have 2 of them. They used to have very stiff buttons and straps. If you take the screws off and boil the straps and buttons in water they go softer and stay that way.
It was this watch model that Sheriff Hood (Anthony Starr) wore in the Banshee series))) ... I had to take a long time to make freeze frames to determine the model)!
Thanks for the vid. How do you set your time zone with the UTC feature? I’m on the east coast of the US but in the NYC world time mode it doesn’t match the time on the Home Screen.
I have zero interest in this particular G, however is hall be watching the rest of this tomorrow during my breakes, NOBODY does this kind of video as well as you do, good job as always mate!
You forgot if you keep scrolling while setting the alarm it will give you two more options i have yet to figure out the first gives you numbers 1-12 and the second gives you numbers 1- 31 im assuming its so you can set the alarm for a specific month and day now that I think about it
Very good job of explaining this module. Love the looks of the Mudman but in actual use it is anything but intuitive. I'll stick with the easy to use Ironman.
Just got this same model in today! My display seems a little lacking for brightness is there a brightness adjustment? Or perhaps my battery is low? I did buy it online after all! Any info is helpful and appreciated! Love the videos!
Thank you for the tutorial. It really helped me out. Can you explain how the DST works. Do you need to set up DST for you current location as well as the location you want on the world clock. Is it reliable
Set the UTC +- time for your location first. Then set your current time and select the second city time if you require. This is basic time setting. For DST, you have to manually start or end DST for both home and second time. Many places don’t use DST and the watch wouldn’t know about it.
Hey Watch Geek, If you turn on the Auto EL, does the watch enter a temporary sleep state and turns itself on when you tilt it towards you? I hope you answer my question
