The G-Clamp Fall Protection System is temporary and reusable fall arrest anchor system that does not rely on screws or nails for installation. The system uses friction and tension to create an ultra-strong, reusable, OSHA compliant fall arrest anchor on virtually any type of roof. The system has 3 main parts - the G-Clamps that install under the eave, a Saddle or Hinged Peak Anchor and 2 heavy duty ratchet straps. When tension is applied to the system with the ratchets it creates a friction based fall arrest system. No tools are needed to install the system.

That seems like a great system: no nailing/screwing into the roof and possibly damaging the shingles and/or voiding the warranty. I suggest narrating the video, explaining what you are doing, instead of the music, which I muted.

Thank you for your constructive criticism! We are actively working on a narration version. We got a little excited with the music!

best system I've seen for roof anchoring. I feel like it can be made less bulky. but its definitely better than nailing shit into the roof. great work guys

You need 2 or 3 guys to set this up? There's only one of me and the little lady ready to call 911 as backup.

There was an old system of pulleys and ropes used over an entire roof. Typically used a temproary land installation of a pole or tree, classic rope over the house. THe problem is after 50 pitch probably want scaffolding, low incline roofs make nonsense, However the onverall analysis is the pick axe salesmen are still doing teh devils work lol.. and only have more power and expanded ot governign operations. LMAO

I'm with you 17 years running claims never used a harness but I am going to get the pitch Hopper. They need to do this with a steeper roof that looks like a 7/12 in good condition very easy to walk, heck we're good shingles and the right shoe I can walk a 9/12 is all over the valley or dormer nearby.

Does it damage the soffit or fascia when tighten the ratchet straps?
@safefallsupply7328
@safefallsupply7328 2 года назад
Only if the ratchet is over-tightened. The length of the clamp distributes the force over a 36" span.

How much for this kit?

Swing fall hazard? If you fell off the corner you'd either hit the side of the house or the ground before it caught you. OSHA general rule for 15 degree from anchor center working area would require this to be moved 100 times for proper use.

Thank you for your comment. Wouldn't this be the same for a permanent anchor? While the G-Clamp can be moved, 100 times is slightly exaggerated. With any fall protection, you do need to be mindful of your free rope length.

is it possible to install this with a 1 man crew?

It's quicker/easier with 2, but once you get the hang of it, you can put it together by yourself.

Relying on the gutter to hold the pressure doesn’t seem to safe!
@joshcosta423

It's not replying on the gutter... It's relying on the soffit.
@Josh-ww5kz

It's relying on the fascia board actually. So better hope that board has a a few screws/nails in it at every rafter tail.
@safefallsupply7328
@safefallsupply7328 2 года назад
Agreed. Don't do that.

Some houses have rotted facia. Not safe at all. Also you're risking damaging the paint or chipping a boards.
@safefallsupply7328
@safefallsupply7328 2 года назад
@@hidros1461 Of course, in those instances we would recommend a permanent anchor to be installed. If installed correctly, it will not damage the soffit.

So, how does this setup work for fmu/lmd? First man up/last man down. How are they to remain properly tied off?
