This song was written in 1928 for a (never published) musical East Is West, but wasn't published until 1930 and included in the Girl Crazy Broadway musical. There are many versions of the song, even Brent Spiner (Komandant Data) recorded it on his 1991 album Ol' Yellow Eyes Is Back (guess who he parodied there 😁)
