"Last Dance"... yeah, the song sort of got lost in what was happening with Soojin at the time. It wasn't "made" by the girls, Soojin was essentially edited out (her voice wasn't even included in that lyric video you watched), Miyeon (and sometimes Soyeon) tried to keep up with the v-live videos while Yuqi, Minnie, and Shuhua had gone back to their home countries during the hiatus while the Soojin situation was being "worked out". That video was basically Miyeon putting on a brave face and doing a bit of promotion for "last dance". Miyeon was a real hero at keeping (G)I-dle "seen" with her v-lives and her weekly host appearance on MCountdown.
Look forward to seeing Yuqi's solo performance as part of the "I am free-ty" 2023 (G)I-dle world tour. She plays her acoustic guitar while performing her song "Could it be". Yuqi is my ult bias. She is such an interesting and talented individual! You should check out her covers she's done on the official youtube. She tends to make those every year on her birthday.
You need to check out ALL of Yuqi's solo tracks. She's phenomenal. Freak, Red Rover, On Clap, Beggin, Flowers, Shallow. All prove her versatility and elevates her to world idol instead of K-pop idol. And she releases ALL her work in English to reach a much broader audience. Great review as always. Oh, and the last clip? That's Yuqi's band. They are all girls except for the drummer. She uses them whenever she wants them. And she also uses the same back up dancers when there's choreography. She's VERY loyal to her people.

I always loved "Last Dance". Not just for the symbolism. =/ It was just as the Pandemic hit, and the whole Soojin thing hit, so it truely was their Last Dance.
Hi! My first YT comment, been watching reactions for years and have followed most of your deep dives. I really appreciate the meticulous chronological approach you have, it's great for finding live versions and other interesting content beyond the studio discography and MVs. I've recently started a little Lee Mujin Service binge and it just so happens that all (G)I-DLE members except for Shuhua were on the show; Minnie appears in multiple episodes even. I really, really recommend including these in your deep dive. They highlight the members' individual charms and made me appreciate their vocals on a different level. Not only is Minnie's episode the first of the show, it's also one of the most watched. But the real reason I'm commenting on this video in particular is that you would indeed get to hear Miyeon sing a powerful, belty ballad in her episode.. which happens to be an original song by your bias in another group.🤫

Before they became CUBE trainees Miyeon was a former YG trainee and trained there for 5 years, almost debuting at BlackPink and joining CUBE in 2017 Minnie was born into a musical family and has been exposed to music since childhood. She joined CUBE in May 2015 Soojin studied Latin dance and vocal lessons for several years and is a member of an underground girl group. She joined CUBE in 2016 Soyeon started self-learning RAP and composition during his student years, and joined CUBE in 2014 Yuqi learned ethnic dance at the age of 3 and started self-learning KPOP dance during middle school. In 2014, she passed the recruitment review for CUBE trainees and after communicating with her family, she decided to go to Korea after graduation. She joined CUBE in the second half of 2016 Shuhua has been fond of singing, dancing, and performing since childhood, and joined CUBE at the end of 2016 Yuqi Minnie is a roommate, and Soyeon has a separate room. Before they made their debut and were reassigned dormitories and rooms, the three of them had been living in the same dormitory. Yuqi and Minnie, in order to successfully debut, not only receive daily training as trainees, but also endure the pain in their dormitories, practice hard with tears in their eyes, and often only sleep three hours a day. Soyeon was participating in 101 and RAP STAR at the time. The three of them encouraged each other, helped SOYEON become more confident, and supported her in all her decisions in the days to come. If you keep following them, you will find that since their debut, they have been the first and most excited members to react to SOYEON.
Yuqi has created huge wealth for the company,she often appears in the company's financial reports and ranks very high. And other members have not appeared so far. Among the members, Miyeon is the second most 'responsible' for creating finance for the company, and Soyeon is the third most 'responsible'
in the last dans parts of Soojin were taken by Miyeon Soyeon and Minnie, and the clip itself was re-edited so that Soojin was less visible, Soojin injured her leg while filming. this really is the last dance
Anytime i see Last Dance, i remember one of their recent italk where they where trying to remember the choreography and could not even remember the name of the song. They ended up arguing until they figured out it was Last dance 😂

I think this song was somehow dedicated to Soojin if you read the lyrics, I'm not sure though The first part, Miyeon's part in 2nd verse and 2nd chorus of Last Dance was supposed to be Soojin's, that's why they don't show any particular member in those parts
It was written before Soojin left, so it's mostly premonitory. Even the title, as it really was her last dance in I-Dle (and only dance because they removed her singing parts).
All of Yuqi's solo songs are in English, and it makes a lot of sense. She can't do them in Chinese, because it wouldn't play in Korea, and she can't do them in Korean, because it won't play in China. Releasing music in English is the best of all worlds for her. Oh, and Yuqi will let you know she plays guitar. Whenever she can. lol There was one clip of her pretending to play on a year end stage and the director did a close-up of her hands not playing and she got so mad.
Ahhh ok yeah that makes sense, English is kinda neutral for both markets. Lol I think I would get kinda upset too if I put in all the effort to learn the guitar and no one’s paying attention to that when filming
