I’m also a tomboy who has become more feminine when I got older but I still prefer wearing grunge style outfits if not the top then it’s going to be the shoes. The song means a lot because it lets me know that I can be a Tomboy without being boxed as a certain type.

Why does Soyeon get hate?! Also you watched one of my first RU-vid videos? No way!

@@georgehollins Yes I did. If I recall correctly it was about you speaking against fast fashion. And Soyeon gets hate because of the line distribution. K-POP is very misogynistic, and these girls are one the few girl groups who have a say in their music. Minnie started producing later on and Yuqi as of the single album before HWAA also started producing. In K-POP, the producing members often get more lines, which is kinda logical because A, its their own creativity that made the song so it will suit this member the best too and B, they deserve to get a little extra for the hard work they put into the album. Soyeon is the member who produced from the very beginning and every title track is hers because Minnie and Yuqi feel a bit more insecure and prefer producing the B-Sides of the album. Because of this, Soyeon gets a lot of hate in particular because of how often she gets to rap or in some songs, even sing, whilst Miyeon and Shuhua get less. Shuhua stans such as myself are mostly cool with it. K-POP companies barely focus on language classes for foreign trainess, and when they debuted, Shuhua could barely speak Korean. Their debut song, she just had to repeat a line, but the song after that, she actually sang lines in Korean and she got so much hate for her accent that she specifically requested in their next release to only sing backing vocals. Hate comments ate her alive. So whilst recent Shuhua stans are upset, the ones like me who have been present since their debut are just happy to see her abilities improve and that she's slowly getting comfortable and rewarded with decent lines such as the B-Side Polaroid (Yuqi produced that one. Shuhua is the one other member who's comfortable with a deeper, husky range so obviously, something that is produced to go well with Yuqi's deep voice will fit Shuhua too. That is how this group picks their lines) Miyeon stans are another story, unfortunately. She's a main vocal and those often get a lot of lines if not the most, in K-POP groups who don't have producing members. So a lot of those bash Soyeon, and to a lesser extent, Yuqi and Minnie because they get more lines. A lot are begging her to walk away from the group as they don't 'appreciate' her. Whilst Miyeon herself is happy. She actually was supposed to debut as the 5th member of BLACKPINK but decided against it, and the reason was the management. She's not comfortable releasing songs she's working on, but she has wanted to produce music for a while now, and she knew this wouldn't be possible in BLACKPINK. (G)I-DLE is kind of like her ideal group career-wise, but for some reason her own stans cannot accept that fact. They want more Miyeon, when everyone, both fans and members, are satisfied with the music we have right now.
