@@andreiscarisoreanu1879 Fanatec is notoriously bad. their products break all the time, their customer support is absolutely terrible and good luck finding anything in stock. Logitech has a lot of reliability and their customer support is amazing, I'd rather go with Logitech than to ever have to deal with Fanatec again.
@@arch_.. hmm 🤔 fanatec has products available. Gt dd pro and dd1/2 bases are available with a wide variety of pedals and wheel rims. I’ve ordered from fanatec (without expedited shipping) and received mine the next day. I’ve had wonderful experiences with them (so far). There’s a few people who crap on fanatec and that’s subjective
@@facundootero7973 Pretty much any motor can be turned into a direct drive wheel, there is no one motor type to be used, altough the most popular type is a servo motor as it's the smoothest to turn
I'm a beginner sim racer, started last year. Since I did't know sim racing was for me, I went for the cheap tride and true wheel, the G923. It has absolutely served me well so far, even though I know It's not good compared to DD. If I continue to enjoy sim racing for another year or so, I'll consider more expensive products to raplace my current wheel, but I will always remember it fondly as the beginning of my hobby. No complaints for the price!
I'm a newbie and would like to purchase a G923+Shifter for PC/PS as my first wheel. Is there anything I need to know about regarding setting it up on a normal desk-table vs. a pro cockpit? Cheers!
@@ThePunisher014 no. Is your table wobbly? That's the only thing that might hinder your enjoyment. Other than that I use the wheel attached to my desk with the pedals pressing against the wall. Works just fine 👌🏻
@@luizarthurbrito Cool that's what I needed to hear. I just got confused watching all these reviewers use huge metal cockpits. I don't have the space for that xD
When I bought the G29 three years ago, I did so thinking when it breaks I will upgrade to a DD. It seems I will be stuck with the G29 for quite a while, it just keeps going on strong and I have been using it 2 - 3 hours nearly everyday.
I had mine for over 5 years before I upgraded only issue with it is the wheel was ever so slightly starting to have some wobble/play in the wheel rim but sold it cheap to a friend when I upgraded to the Logitech G PRO Racing Wheel and hes perfectly happy with it and uses it still.
g29 on ebay, they were asking 165, i offered 125 plus shipping and they accepted it. wheel&pedals used. we will see if they work. i offered another seller 200 asking 250 and they denied it just prior.
Still have a G27 set - actually includes the shifter, as many of the buttons are attached to it. I'd never use a wheel enough to warrant spending more than $400 on the full set.
I like the honest review of the products & comparison of the Logitech line. I personally have a G920 & have moved to PC from console gaming within the last year. I am within a sec 1/2 (on average) from most of the aliens on ACC so I'm pretty happy with that. I am excited that Logitech has decided to jump into this market & I'm likely to purchase it down the line. Thanks for the review gents
Truth be told, you may aswell get a moza R5. The price for the Logitech pro is horrendous. The pedals are literally more than a Nintendo switch pro and the Logitech is basically a thieving 1000. If you got money to burn go for it. But there’s always a great alternative🤷🏾♂️
Very well said guys. I use the G29 now and just cannot seem to improve myself. Been trying for 2 years now on F1 2020 so I decided I want a Direct Drive and decided on Fanatec, but here in Australia they are just sold out everywhere. So.....I received my Logitech G Pro Wheel/Pedals today and let's see how things go. Thanks again for your great opinions.
Have the G29 and just upgraded to the DD G Pro...So far, 2 days owning the pro, I like the wheel. But like you said, you're still going to be quick with the g29 and 923. Stick with the cheaper options, those wheels work great for the price. It's not the wheel, it's the driver.
Did you know that you can get a load cell aftermarket upgrade for the G923/G29/G920? One of the best things about the G series is that the aftermarket loves us. I've already done both the load cell and an upgraded 13 1/2 inch steering wheel with a metal (not 3D printed, too soft) adapter. Both upgrades cost me less than $150US and vastly improved the useability of my 923. There's no need to go nuts here, keep it budget friendly and get out there and play the games!!
Been into Sim racing for several years. Just returned the Moza 5 bundle and got the g923. Had the g29 and 920 in the past. Personally I love the cheaper wheels annd pedals. I drive better with these wheels. Your don't have to spend more $$$.
Reportedly (by BoostedMedia) the G Pro PS/PC base will also work on Xbox if an Xbox wheel rim is attached, so it works exactly like that other manufacturer you mentioned. And remember to tune in next week for "Ferrari vs Fiat - Which Do You Buy?"
Great video, really enjoyed that one 😊 Near the end of the video you say that the pro pedal will become available with g923 on console next year, where do you have this information from? I have been searching the internet and can find nothing to confirm this?
Nice one guys I have no doubts about my purchase but youve also just affirmed my confidence, as a 1st wheel buyer Ive opted for the 923 (expecting it tomorrow)
21:14 I think they went all out to avoid people saying that Logitech only makes "mediocre" products (which is a lie) they needed to come out swinging to showcase that they can make high quality products, brand image is everything. I don't doubt they'll launch a middle ground wheel in the future, they just need the good press on this one to boost brand fidelity, don't get me wrong, I'm also a Logitech "fan" so to speak, I have a G29 + Shifter and a M&K from them as well, it's good to see that they are open to "new" technologies.
Using the G923 for my First Wheel and really enjoy it. I’m interested in upgrading to the G Pro Pedals for the PS5. Would it be worth the $350 to upgrade the pedals? Were they a Big difference?
Thank you for talking about the mounting points between the two wheels, i already have a rig and dodnt want to buy a new one, so knowing thr two have similair mounting holes was a nice touch. And thanks for not putting the g923 down as its perfectly fine for what it is
Like you said I wish they would have went for the middle ground a logical upgrade from the g92X opposed to a premium option. As some one looking to upgrade from a g920 I'm likely to choose moza
@bartle6963 yes I did I now have a moza r5 and fanatec csl elite v2 pedals. I love both upgrades. I have heard mixed stuff about the moza pedals so i opted to go with fanatec and love them. The r5 I have a 350mm aftermarket dished wheel on using moza's qr adapter and the r5 is plenty of torque for me when drifting or driving grip racing. Loads of detail that I had previously not noticed with the g920 is apparent with the r5.
I’ve been sim racing for 2 years, I started with the G29, but about an year ago, and since I didn’t want to spend about 1k Euros on a good Fanatec bundle, I got the Pro pedals and the adaptar. Basically, if you want to take this even remotely serious, a Load Cell brake is just essential, and I found that that was the most important upgrade. Unfortunately, I dont think that pedals are up to scratch when you consider the price, but, eventually, I did find ways to improve them (like using the faces from the old pedals, go and guess…), and now I’m fairly happy with the pedals. One year into the hybrid solution, and now I’m looking for to get the Pro wheel as well. The thing is… When I started, I really didn’t want to spend much money at a single time, and what happens, is that you find that when you are mindfull of the costs, you’ll always tend to stay within the same ecosystem. I’m buying the Pro wheel now, which means for sure that I’m pretty pleased with Logitechs products. However, if I was willing to spend some 1500 on a single day, I’d be perhaps looking at Fanatec as well. However, their customer support is a total chaos and they do have some quality issues… That said, I race mainly on PS and GT7 particularly, and with TrueFFB compatibility and the quality woes at Fanatec, I do believe that best choice really is the Logitech Pro. But if you are already in to the Fanatec ecosystem, I dont think that it is worthwhyle to spend 1500 on a totally new set. Yep, it is not that simple! 😂
I probably play gta5 or beamng using the wheel once in maybe 6 months. So paying $999 for the pro is not an option no matter how better it is. Ill stick to the g923
Can you use the pro pedals with the G29? I plan to upgrade to the PRO, but it’s a bit pricey. If I can buy the pedals to use with my current G29, that would be ideal for me.
I have both the g923 served me good when I first got it and I had the MOZA r5 the reality is it depends on your strength patience and how much you are willing to spend for more detail and immersion ima big person and kinda strong so the g923 isn’t the best resistance wise and detail isn’t much there with things such as feeling wheel spinning and tire grip r5 was an noticeable improvement but still some resistance dead spots and clipping the pro is perfect with 11 nm for daily play enough detail without super resistance with little to no resistance dead spots I would skip the g923 and the pro pedals and hold your money you will eventually want to upgrade and realized you just wasted your money
I started with a G923 set 2 months ago. If I had been able to side-by-side compare the G923 to the Pro set, I’d have never bought the 923. The comparison between them isn’t even close. The Pro wheel is larger, feels better, is heavier, and much higher build quality. The G923 is nice for what it is, but next to the Pro, it feels like a toy wheel. If you’re on the fence between these 2 sets, save up for the Pro. It’s really worth it. Even the pedals are worth buying over the G923 pedals. They’re larger, and much more adjustable to the user.
Still rocking a load cell modded G27. I have no interest in paying more for a console makers piece and skipped everything since they doubled the price and took away the shifter. Was excited to see a Logitech DD offering, but it's just convinced me to build a DIY (hoverboard motor and Odrive) version instead.
had a g920 to learn how to drive well since i don't have the money yet to go to a track, i put 300 hours on acc with it and then i got to the point where I'm ready to invest big money now into the gpro with a new setup with vr and motion Sim, the g923 is a great starter wheel if you don't have much to go off on to invest and you can get fast with it but their is a limit you will hit once you drive gt cars and even sometimes regular cars where you can't get all the information through the wheel to where you start understeering and clipping of information where you have to correct alot more in your driving so once you notice it then its time to upgrade Togo faster and have more fun!
FYI if you have a X-Rocker Xr Racing Circuit or Playseat Challange just watch out with the G Pro Wheel as if I go to 8nm or higher I can feel the X-Rocker Xr Racing Circuit flexing starts to become a lot more noticable, so while this wheel will mount no issues just dont run the wheel base to high, I have mine set at 6.5nm and it feel fine but still a tad bouncy at times 😂
I dont get the out cry though because 99% of people should get the g923 or a used g27 or g29. Only serious people need this and plus if really want to take sim racing seriously its way more important to get a load cell and this is porbably the most convient package I have seen. Load cell brake peddals always come first before direct drive
As for compatibility, the G Pro comes in two flavors that either support the Xbox Series X|S consoles and PC or the PS5/PS4 and PC. That said, you could buy the PS5 version of this wheel and it will work with the Xbox Series X/S if you switch out the PlayStation wheel for an Xbox one.
How well does the Wheel/pedals Pro marry up with the Next Level wheel stand 2.0? I'm concerned that both wheel and brake cell pressure will have things shifting around.
f1 cars have 4 paddles in the back. shift up, shift down. clutch #1 and clutch #2. clutch 1 and 2 controls the same clutch. it's for launching the car. So this logitech steering wheel is trying to emulate that.
At $700 for both the wheel and pedals. The pro would be an interesting option for PC users vs the competition. Despite it having significantly more plastic (even abundant in the pedal base) and having a proprietary wheel collar, Effectively meaning you're stuck with that wheel. It would still be a stopgap, and a relative upgrade in quality and precision over the increasingly aging G29 series. But at double that reasonable price. Its hilarious and insulting.
With Logitech not selling through stores like BestBuy, Amazon, Or Dell, and not having any replacement wheels or even informing us on what is to come, I am just going to buy Fanatec.
I have a question, thats not clear for me. I've experienced the G29, on PC, playing Asseto Corsa. And the thing that bothers me is that the pedals have no feedback. When i'm driving a real car, or kart, i can feel on the brake pedal, when i'm close to locking up, and on the gas pedal if the car is loosing traction, or understeer/oversteer. With Sim Pedals on the market offers this? The reviews mostly focus on the wheels' feedback and braking stiffness.
Hi Pedro, what you're looking for is a loadcell brake pedal, it doesn't have a rumble motor in it but without getting into incredible amounts of money it's the closest you'll get I think - Rwaggy
What about 300RS GT edition? My discount I can get the combo for $350 and two year warranty. The pro is out of the budget. For a beginner it’s a bit pricey. But sure is likely a good solid combo
Well ... looks like Logitech raised the prices for the Xmas business. Here in Switzerland the 923 is now about CHF 275. And the G Pro about CHF 990 for the base. I'm just starting to think about my very first wheel and I think the 923 would really be sufficient. Especially because I will probably never play racing simulations, only games like American Truck Simulator. Thanks for the video and take care!
Had the Fanatec DD Pro 8NM, replaced 3 times because of defective wheelbase, horrible customer service at Fanatec and still QC Problems o be careful, went back to Logitech G923 and now thinking about Logi Pro………Decided to keep my 923 since to be honest, I don’t want to spend hours and hours playing simracing games and for that money, you have to know you will use the equipment a lot. No doubt the pro is awesome but think about how much time you are spending in this hobby. G923 still offers an excellent experience and in my view better wheels do not increase the experience by the multiples reflected in the price. Good luck with your decision guys.
Doing fine on my Driving Force GT had it years now it's bullet proof still like new if you look after it because it's all hard plastic although the brake is on or off no in between and wheels love to lock up:), I wanted better but the Logitech G Pro DD is too big compared to current base's and fanless motors make the whole kit £1000 pedals included and i may overlook what i do not like for Logitech's ease of setup with most games.
I have a mint barely used in box Driving force gt. Bought it right before they stopped selling them thinking I would revisit ps2 with it. Also have a t150 and t300 for sale, lol. PS version of Pro on the way.
Hmm i feel like the Moza R12 bundle with CRP pedals would be like £200-£300 cheaper AND a better product than the LG Pro - Also the R3 bundle better than the G923 for similar price
All we need right now, is Thrustmaster to announce a DD Wheel, compatible with their ecossystem. Really. If they play this right, they will be king of the hill effortlless...
Hi great review, the G Pro is too much at £1400, i have the G920 with gear shifter and load cell for the brake pedal, and all done for just over £350, i like the Pro wheel but not at that cost, as you say where is a 6Nm wheel at £500 ???
What I would like to know is what arcade racers will work with this wheel. Obviously the ones on the official list. But what about older games like grid 2, dirt 2/3 , NFS series. There is an g923 compatibility mode. Does this mean it will work with all games that worked on g923?
As far as we are aware, yes. Compatibility mode should make a PC think the wheel is a G923, so theoretically it should work with the same titles. Might we worth reaching out to Logitech directly to confirm!
@@TraxionGG from support - In the vast majority of cases, if a title supports the Logitech G29, G920, or G923, then the PRO Wheel will also work - which is good!
why is no one making low power dd wheel bases 3-4nm or so for a really attractive price $449 pedals wheel included. the only reason i would want a DD is for how much smoother they are. hopefully thrustmaster knows what's up.
It really is sad, and surprising, that Logitech has ignored the middle ground here and you nailed it by calling that out. I'm still using, and loving, a G27 with the Ricmotech load cell and I'm pretty sold on the fact that Logitech gear is so well made, having run their wheels for I would think well over 20 years. The G Pro is a bit of a leap and, so far, it hasn't been discounted at all. Perhaps more concerning is the lack of news of new wheel options to take advantage of the quick release system. I guess the question is will Logitech actually add to the ecosystem or is this a dead end? Even if it is a dead end, I'd still be well interested if they could offer the combo at around the $700 mark. 11nm is probably OTT for most requirements, so a less powerful model would be fine at at around that price point too. It would be really interesting to know how sales of the Pro wheel and pedals are doing versus the strong competition. I'd imagine that the lack of add-on wheels is probably especially off putting.
Ridiculous price for the g pro from Logitech, being more expensive than a Simucube or Moza makes me even smile. What was they thinking with this price ^^
But neither the Moza or Simucube work on a PlayStation or Xbox. So for my current use case, neither product suit. I'm personally holding off to see what Thrustmaster come up with - then it should be a three way fight between Fanatec, Logitech and Thrustmaster for console compatibility. Many people seem to forget that people still race on a console at times and just focus on their PC only. If I am going to drop close to £1000 on a wheel, it better work with at least one of my consoles as well as my PC.
@@130Racing Ahh that's the difference. I have never owned a console, Spectrum > C64 > C128d > Amiga > 386 > 486 > Pentium > Conroe > fast forward to today Ryzen. Guess that's showing my age. So I was commenting about my opinion from a PC perspective, so it is obviously different from a console perspective, the way it has always been with games Etc.
Thanks for this. Would be interested to see if TrueForce on the G923 is being utilised well or is it still a bit of an annoying rumble. I'm on G29 and like it. Not ready to drop a grand or more to go DD. TrueForce sounded like it was going to fill in the details in the FFB but all I've seen has been that it doesn't add anything useful. Yes, it rumbled, but not in a way that communicates anything significant. I'm OK with the G29 FFB torque. My wish is more details. But don't need 11Nm
You will have more details with a 11nm direct drive though. Think of the force feedback power as resolution. With 11nm, you have a wider range of details on the wheel. It's not going to be constantly at 11nm.
It's not much of an upgrade. G923 just has a speaker "truerforce" on the wheel base for more depth, I'm still using g29 I never upgraded to g923...but im considering pro seems like a real upgrade
@Craig Yirush I have the entry level "next level foldable rig" but im considering selling or giving away once I get the funds for the pro wheel upgrade and vr...im thinking upgrade my rig to more entry-level aluminum rig but with a racing chair
My dream setup at this point would be, Moza R9 wheelbase with the G Pro steering wheel (I know they aren't compatible) and Fanatec CSL Elite V2 pedals. Since I own a G29, probably the CSL pedals will be my next upgrade. I actually really like the feeling of the G29 wheel.
I am on a G920 and just had my first upgrade. I ordered the CSL Elite V2's yesterday since the Logitech pedals are absolute garbage lol. I'd say it's definitely worth it to upgrade the pedals first if you can't upgrade the whole kit.
@@alexcastaneda7761 I've seen some reviews of the CSL V2 pedals and the opinions are very good, even comparing them to high-end pedals. I know they aren't comparable to the logitech, but do you see improvements on your laptimes and trailbraking? With the logitech I can't have much control after start releasing the brake.
I'd highly recommend using something like a Playseat Challenge as a racing rig instead of those stands. They're more sturdy, have a better racing position/view meaning more comfortable to use over a couple of hours or more, fold up with the wheel and pedals still attached = taking up less space at a very similar price. Those stands are terrible compared to a rig type especially if you're getting the pro.
Logitech shifter isn't good. It pops out of gear easily. Doing a drift in 2nd gear and pull your handbrake and let it spring forward? Now you are in neutral as the force of the handbrake returning sling shots the shifter arm out of gear from the tiny impact.
Shame Logitech clearly could manufacture for less money but chose to go along with the whole cost of living along with a few weeks on the market to see the order take vs price increases
Stop acting like you're not biased. If you weren't, you would just buy the product and give an honest review. Dont trust anyone on youtube who gets free products, then tries to convince you they're giving a completely honest, unbiased review; its bs most of the time.
I don’t trust logitech. I bought one of their wheels in the past. then, six months later, when I bought a new system, the wheel was not supported. I wasted $300. I think I’ll go with a Fanatec product.
