lol i made this before they made this. i put a switch between the ground wire on the solenoid on their original version. the solenoid drained both batteries until they were both at 12.7v causing unnecessary drain to the acc battery which lowered its service life since it was being drained and recharged every day because of the solenoid so i would turn it off with a switch after everything was charged

That's very clever, good job! Yeah we did have some customers who wanted to be able to manually disconnect the batteries for a variety of reasons. That's why we updated the boost switch in the Gen 3 kit, so you can now manually connect AND manually disconnect the batteries. As for the voltage level of the disconnect, I can certainly understand that there is a case to be made to about the solenoid consuming some power to hold the batteries together until they drop to 12.7v. That's why we changed to the new smart combiner device. The Gen 3 kit does not consume any power at all, unlike our earlier kits. It still leaves the batteries connected until they reach 12.7v, but the new combiner itself will not consume any power to hold the batteries connected. Remember that AGM batteries are fully charged at 12.8v, so disconnecting them at 12.7 is still a high threshold. I hope this helps! -Shane

If I wanted the solar to charge both batteries how would I wire that up?

Hi,I have the old generation dual battery for my JKU but have the latest firmware installed ( have the latest system too but due to only yellow tops available here, not fitted the new system) can i set boost off from menu to recharge externally only my main battery, don’t want to connect both while doing this? Thank you

i did this on my original unit before these guys did. myself (and im sure a lot of others requested this option). the original versions solenoid used quite a bit of current (200ma) 24 hours a day and would drain both batteries and then once they dropped to 12.7v the system would disconnect the batteries. a whole lot of unneccesary draining and recharging of batteries which shortens the service life. so no, not with the g screen can you do this on the old system.. i had to cut the ground wire to the solenoid on the old version and added a switch in between… basically what they did with this switch they added on the new one. ran the switch to inside my jeep. now i can turn the system off or on from inside the cab. after a long drive or if i freshly charged the batteries and i knew they were both charged i would turn the system off so the solenoid wasnt draining the batteries, (or to charge each battery individually with an exteenal charger). if you want photos email me

My G-screen was updated to the new firmware. If I switch it manually under the hood to off, it doesn’t show the state of auto as “off” on the G-screen. It basically says “auto on” all the time, no matter what. Also, the screen flashes green and yellow sometimes, even though the voltage is at 14.1-14.3 volts. What am I missing?

Also, the screen is always green even if the batteries are connected/boosted or isolated. It never turns yellow.

@@GenesisOffroad Thanks, I know first hand your customer service is great. I got this. control panel switch. On, both batteries hook together. Stop= only crank battery on. auto= both batteries on/off cycle . Off= crank battery only... If I need a boost touch my g screen to boost. 👍
