I’m looking forward to the next vid about the gauge for the 2nd battery. I’ve been a little hesitant to run anything for too long, because I don’t know the voltage of the 2nd battery.
Many Jeeps have or can have added the factory AUX switches. As you know the wiring for these is just bundled and tucked down between the passenger inner fender and the battery. It would be nice to have a dedicated switch block to be able to hook those wires to, then simply add a connection and maybe have a common ground for the block to which accessories can be added. I just wired in driving lights and while it was pretty clean and straight forward, I can see here this could easily become a rats nest if you were to use all four switches. Something stand alone or something that can be integrated into your tray system, I think would be a nice addition. Not everyone needs an SPOD and since the connections are right there by the battery, it seems like a natural progression to me.
I have a Antigravity H7/Group-94R Lithium Car Battery - 80 Ah (AG-H7-80-RS) sitting in my JL Genesis dual battery tray and am looking for a way to put a top bracket and some bussbars on it. I have it sitting pretty flush to what my Full River 25 was. It died and I'm not interested in another 60lb battery so, I'm putting the jeep on a weight loss program. I'm trying the single Antigravity. If you have a flat top bracket, that would prevent me from having one made. I don't mind paying for my experiments.
Is that gauge/switch box on the dash custom or a kit from somewhere? I just bought some sheet metal to make something pretty similar but I’d definitely prefer to have a premade as I lack the tools to make it as refined as I’d like.
Hey Shane this is Memphis. We spoke briefly over the phone prior to EJS ill give you a call tomorrow or Thursday. I have a project next in the Queue and ive got some ideas for products
How about a kit for dual batteries up front and LiFePO4 battery in the back with solar MPPT. Add Bluetooth app control and you would have the ultimate all in one kit that nobody else offers! Keep up the good work!👍🏻
The short answer is no. For more information about that, please watch this clip from our 'Top 9 Questions' video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tRe2Mjps0sg.html
You mention that the wiring for the factory aux battery is different for pre 2021 models vs post 2021 models. Do you have a cutoff date of when this change was made in 2021? or any easy way to identify which setup mine is? I have a 2021 model so it could be either.
Installed your latest improved I think 3rd gen dual battery kit with G Screen on my 2020 4RNR and have had zero issues after about 2 years.... very happy with the product. Running all my accessories on 2nd battery..winch..lights..compressor...gmrs radio and more....Cant be happier. Keep the great products coming...Maybe some real competition for switch pro or even an overlanding specific power setup for the rear of the vehicle...Would love to see a self supporting solar setup??
Installed your Dual Battery and G Screen in my Jeep JK a year ago and love it! What I haven't found a good product for yet and so have been DIYing a solution is a rear-tire delete solution to mount a 10lb propane and 4-6 rotopax cans. Working on a DIY solution but that's an area where I haven't seen very many creative products to make the most use of the additional space gained from deleting the rear tire.
I'm looking at buying the dual battery kit for my gladiator. Just wondering if you're coming out with a new version anytime soon? Just asking because it's always my luck that I buy something and a few months later a newer version comes out lol. Thanks
Ha! I know the feeling! As of today we do not have any changes planned for the Gladiator dual battery kit. We have plenty of kits in stock for fast shipping!
Hmm, I'm thinking the best way to get rid of the e-torque system would be to trade the vehicle in for one without it. That's a very integral part that would not be easy to remove from a vehicle equipped with it.
Love your product - had it when we had out 2018 Tundra Platinum and it truly felt like with our conversations in the past, you took my input and I saw improvement on your product brackets and you took care of the one we had been using when you beefed it up. Made it proud to be working with your company and we hope to continue to use your products as they suit our vehicles. (2020 4Runner and 2022 Hybrid Tundra Pro) We keep watching if something becomes available for the Tundra as we run a winch and a fridge, plus your usual full squad of LED lights. Cheers!
Thank you very much! We love to get feedback like that, we are constantly looking for ways to improve! The new Tundra is next on our list, I'm shopping around for one now, so stay tuned!
We have been running the Dual Battery system with G Screen in our 2016 JK for over eight years. We had a problem early on with the solenoid while on a long overlanding trip. Contacted Shane. He called me back during the weekend while he was driving back from a family event. Mailed me a replacement solenoid and provided instructions to install it. System has been flawless ever since. You can’t find a better company in the industry.
I’ve your dual battery kit on my JK and love it. I’d like to see how yall would install the sPod or other peripherals to the buss bar- I’m not impressed with the tidiness of my wiring and would enjoy seeing the pros perspective on it.
Hi. Have your rear seat dual battery kit on my 21 Gladiator diesel. Fantastic product. Phoned you a few times for questions and you were super helpful. Look forward to seeing what you’re coming out with next. Highly recommend your company. Thanks, Bill.
lol i made this before they made this. i put a switch between the ground wire on the solenoid on their original version. the solenoid drained both batteries until they were both at 12.7v causing unnecessary drain to the acc battery which lowered its service life since it was being drained and recharged every day because of the solenoid so i would turn it off with a switch after everything was charged
That's very clever, good job! Yeah we did have some customers who wanted to be able to manually disconnect the batteries for a variety of reasons. That's why we updated the boost switch in the Gen 3 kit, so you can now manually connect AND manually disconnect the batteries. As for the voltage level of the disconnect, I can certainly understand that there is a case to be made to about the solenoid consuming some power to hold the batteries together until they drop to 12.7v. That's why we changed to the new smart combiner device. The Gen 3 kit does not consume any power at all, unlike our earlier kits. It still leaves the batteries connected until they reach 12.7v, but the new combiner itself will not consume any power to hold the batteries connected. Remember that AGM batteries are fully charged at 12.8v, so disconnecting them at 12.7 is still a high threshold. I hope this helps! -Shane
Interesting kit. Probably doesn't matter, but as an FYI, that unused positive terminal your busbar connects to will actually already be in use on Everglades models and on Broncos with the Ford Performance/ Warn winch kit installed.
Thank you, I appreciate it! We added that little bus bar piece to make it easier to attach our wire, without having to cut a hole in the side of the red plastic cover.
We do not do any labor for customers, however, your local 4x4 shop will typically bill you for 2 hours of labor to install this dual battery kit on a stock vehicle.
Hi,I have the old generation dual battery for my JKU but have the latest firmware installed ( have the latest system too but due to only yellow tops available here, not fitted the new system) can i set boost off from menu to recharge externally only my main battery, don’t want to connect both while doing this? Thank you
i did this on my original unit before these guys did. myself (and im sure a lot of others requested this option). the original versions solenoid used quite a bit of current (200ma) 24 hours a day and would drain both batteries and then once they dropped to 12.7v the system would disconnect the batteries. a whole lot of unneccesary draining and recharging of batteries which shortens the service life. so no, not with the g screen can you do this on the old system.. i had to cut the ground wire to the solenoid on the old version and added a switch in between… basically what they did with this switch they added on the new one. ran the switch to inside my jeep. now i can turn the system off or on from inside the cab. after a long drive or if i freshly charged the batteries and i knew they were both charged i would turn the system off so the solenoid wasnt draining the batteries, (or to charge each battery individually with an exteenal charger). if you want photos email me
i might subscribe if I didn't have to attempt to work out what you were saying over the annoying background music while watching what was otherwise a nice & informative video!
Amarillo is only 8.5 hours from Flagstaff. They had people from 48 states and several countries there. Grab a buddy or get with a regional group on expeditionportal.com and plan a road trip, that’s all part of the fun!
I’d like to see you guys develop a dual battery system for a third gen Tacoma that uses AGM starter battery and a Lithium accessory battery and the Redarc battery management that allows them to be properly charged off of the alternator or solar, if added.
Sure, here's a revised version of your message: --- Hey Genesis Offroad, During my recent trip, my dual battery cage ripped the sheet metal off and pushed my headlight, causing significant damage in that area. I am considering welding it to reinforce the structure. Do you have a better solution? Is this a common issue? My friend, who also has a Genesis Offroad dual battery but has never taken his vehicle off-road, mentioned that his battery cage is already making noise and moving. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
I’m sorry to hear you’re having some trouble, that’s certainly not the experience we want for you. Please give us a call at 901-214-5337 and we’ll talk through some possible solutions.
