@@camo661 this is my daily watch. i didn't look at the manual to learn how to use it i just patiently played with it and how to tinker with it. by holding the buttons. read what each button does and critically thinking what it might do.

solitary hunter Its not GPS Nav, it just tracks your runs. Older phones won’t use the app and from what I hear the app is garbage, but all of that will likely be changed with an update. It’s really a running tracker, something that would have been helpful for those old military runs to nowhere, when you can’t keep accurate mileage and time. The display is amazing, I thought there was a weird backlight feature on. Only in pitch black do you need the backlight. I was using a solar pathfinder since 2007 that still works so solar Casio was a no brainer. The Rangeman ($800us) is the first model of theirs with GPS nav, but doesn’t have a HR monitor.

I would like to see what the notifications are like when the phone receives messages. Does the message flash up on the watch and can the message be read from the watch

Kent Liu NO, the message type is shown such as text or phone call but not the entire message. It’s only a notification on the watch display that you have a message to view on your phone.

On the app, I cannot make changes on the wrist and also on the Heart Rate, I want to turn it on only when running but it is always on. When I try to make the adjustments on the app, it not allowing that. What could be the problem?

Does it send your data out over the internet? Why does it need registration? It should work without the internet, and it should only read data you tell it to read, and don't send any data out.

Can you do a video on recording laps for swiming or non running activity? It be cool to see a demo of tracking laps and saving a set as a workout. Purely using the stop watch feature. Everyone just skips the stop watch on demos so it be helpful to see that.

You have to go to the settings or connect you watch to the app to toggle the autolight on the watch.

Question- I set up my timers for fitness but I needed to use a 15 min timer for my kids activity. I had to erase my fitness timers just to add the new timer. Do you know if this is true or am I missing a step thank

I don't think there is a timer function so you will have to use the interval timers as a proxy.

Just found your channel, nice videos. The Move app looks kind of unfinished to me. It's unfortunate that you cannot configure the type of activity. I'm not a runner, I do mountainbike though. (yes, I have a bike computer but rarely use it since I got my Samsung Galaxy Frontier). It should be an easy fix in the app to make this so. (essentially it's only recording HR and GPS, anything else is just tagging and meta-data). Still, I may buy this anyway, I love my g-shocks. This watch would make all others redundant though.... hmmm..

It can. When you toggle the vibration settings, have the notifications part on so your watch will vibrate when your alarm goes off. Works the same way for your timer

It does connect to Strava - it’s listed in link to third party apps. I’m having some issues with the gps signal - it doesn’t record my whole run, logs a 10k run in move but then shows a map for just 5k - it shows that I started 5k out. Timings and distance are completely different to my iPhone when I start them going together. Hopefully just teething problems as Move is a very new app.

Leo S. I totally forgot about GPS time setting. Lol. Anyways, to do that, press down on the top left button, then Time Adjustment, then Auto, then Time (GPS). Then give it a few seconds and you’re good to go.

Is there a way to set world time to 24 hour format? That would be nice for first responders to have both 12 and 24 hour displayed as it would also make the world time much more useful when not traveling.

How does this compare to the rangeman besides the HB sensor Whats the word on the gps function Will it tell me where I am Can I mark spots on trails like the rangeman ? Can it back track ? Can I get lost and come home with it? Does it work decent on trails ? I can't believe its only 400$ and the rangeman was 1k The next rangeman is gonns be insane

In short, the GBD-H1000 can’t do everything the Rangeman can when it comes to trails. Although there’s this thing in the app where you can make a sort of trail on the app, but its main purpose is to achieve elevation/ascension levels and exercises. It won’t tell you to go a certain direction. Another thing the watch does is when you start a run and then finish your run or hike or walk or whatever, the app will show you the stats of your exercise plus a map of where you ran/hiked/etc. It even shows a satellite image of your route, unlike the Rangeman, which I think is really cool since the maps on the Rangeman aren’t the best when you make routes. And to answer another part of your question, you can’t use the GBD to backtrack and get yourself out of getting lost. The watch does come with a compass/altimeter/barometer. Hopefully you’re good with the compass.

Nope. The module is similar to the Rangeman which also doesn’t have hourly chime.

ANDREW 24/7 if it’s on it will only work in dark conditions. It’s programmed to keep the light off on AL to preserve battery. Turn it on and test it in the dark. Should work

It mainly does running although you can kinda plan elevation and ascension activities in the app. Won’t measure swimming or anything like that. When you do those activities the best you can do is just measure your heartbeat.
