It's simply amazing how they make up these... It must take a mastermind engineer to plan and construct a toy that is a vehicle or something then it can have its parts rotated/reassembled to form a robot... and being perfect in both modes without "mistery parts" left out or the vehicle being non-vehicle-ish or the robot being non-robot-ish. This planning power is insane, I keep being amazed of it since being little, which is frankly decades by now.
This is a great figure. You putting it together is the best thing ever. I had this one as a kid. I loved it dearly. I have no idea what happened to it.
They gabbed it from the Diaclone line and just slapped autobot stickers on it slightly altered its name from what was it Omegatron to Omega Supreme. And there you go another money maker! But the entire transformers line is a grab together of 4 or 5 lines from Takara and add in Bandais toys they had the license for. Still makes for a really interesting read on hos the transformers franchise came to be. What strikes me as odd is how they delayed on figures like Ultra Magnus till season 3 while the toy already existed from the existing diaclone line. And Raiden was totally left out yet was with the original licensing package. Also they left out the helicopter/jet tripple changer. Which is odd. since as a toy it doesnt look half as bad. Yet these were all left out and yet they included omega supreme.
At least it's not a gundam type partsformer, where there are pieces that have no function at all in one of the modes, so they need to be placed in a beg, and be watched over so that you won't lose them. At least all of Omega Supreme's parts serve some purpose in both modes.
@forgottenduelist Plus the Transformers can grow and shrink things with ease, just look at Megatron, Soundwave, Blaster and all the cassettes! They change size drastically when they transform.
I remember my mom bought this for me when I was a kid and I thought I was the luckiest kid in town. That joker was expensive back then. Such a cool toy!
I got a great deal on Omega Supreme. Original, Used but complete, In Box but was told it didn't work. Cost me $100 Sure enough, the motor works, but he didn't move. Took me 20 minutes to take him apart and put a gear back in place...
You know back in 1985, I had a G1 Starscream around my bday and I bought to show and tell in grade 1 (I must of been like 7 at the time?!!) via primary school and when I got home with him that very same day, all was left was just his body lolz. And I thought the parts & pieces via the Seeker squad was bad?! Omega is just insane via parts, no kid can handle bringing that thing to school to transform and show off too and yes you will lose those parts again accidentaly or deliberately via school buddies and it was still very expensive and rare back then as it is now lolz. Yes ever since 1985 to 2017 I've thought long and hard about getting Omega but Idk, so I went for the 2013 Year Of The Snake (ENERGON!) Omega Supreme which I just LOVE!!! and he finally filled that void and gap after some 32 years...But I will say on a technical standpoint, G1 Omega Supreme is sheer genius in what and the amount he can do which was impressive back then as it is now if slightly impractical (but if your an adult collector who cares!!?) but it was just too much if you were a 7 year old back in 85 and yes we were way smarter. Like you I feel that luv for Omega but my one had to be the Year Of The Snake version!!! Good vid btw!!!
7:50 - shit I don't even own one and I hate it already, so many pieces that need to be put on separately, so many pieces that can get lost! Nothing grinds my gears more than "Transformers" I need to literally take apart in some capacity to transform.... Which makes my anticipation of Titans Return rather ironic XD
Other than this and the energon omega, there hasnt been a toy made from hasbro of him for over 15 years! We have seen the WOC omega which had a planet x release, terminus giganticus, and the Apollo figure, but never a hasbro
funny bit not mentioned here, old man omega has the typical senior issue of a bad hip, the design of the internal part isnt all that great and is prone to basically exploding as the plastic ages, the reissue should be fine with its newer plastic and better formulation but the originals are almost all crippled even mib examples
they..... we were a lot smarter we had to EVERYTHING by hand (pencil and paper!!!! )NO tablets; NO calculators; and NO cell phones!!!!!! If you had a computer you were the upper elite (rich)!!!!!!
I had the original I got for Christmas back in the 80's. I loved this thing so much. I cried for days when one of my dogs got a hold of it and ate the tank and the rocket.
Look around man definitely smarter back then, nowadays they have juussstttt enough logic for a rescue bot. I have this and the Genesis beating up Energon O.S. for good reason, they're pulling him in two.
08:07 kids were not smarter, just more creative. We live in a time now where kids don't want to build but destroy (O and i'm 18 before anyone calls me an old grump).
ok first off i just want to say that you and i are on the same page with not having leftover parts. and second the way you put the tracks on the back like that...makes it look like he has solar panels to charge up for a major triple cannon strike. i say triple because as evidenced in the season two episode "the golden lagoon" omega can use his head cannon and both arms as blasters so...yeah he is way more intimidating that way
