As someone who still owns his Swoop from childhood, I can tell you that your launcher springs probably haven't degraded - they likely were never there in the first place.

um...TJ the reason hasbro used strafe is stronger and cool Dinobot name then Swoop. i a imagined that when Swoop/strafe scanned his pterodactyl beast mode he actually scanned two pterodactyl skeleton set land on top of each other which is why he has two heads in beast mode. also wasn't snarl the only one to carry a sword in the G1 cartoon.

The lower legs feature those 'vent' type details in the same place as on the seekers too.

Yeah the springs were probably not even there. Sucks on some of the earliest toys since the engineering was horrible so there was nothing holding parts in place (looking at you Sunstreaker).

Swoop is my favorite Dinobot as well. And as one of the few viewers who ARE older than the Transformers line (I'm 42) I wish I owned one. I have the Energon version which isn't quite the same and the Animated version for some reason I didn't grab when I had the funds to do so.
