I had the same issue with the 288 I had. I had Kevin ordered me a raisman brand oiler and it worked. I like the clone saws. But I HATE those 288s Anxious to see the other videos coming....cough cough
I have a 288xp trying to replace the worm gear but the new worm gear doesn't wanna go it same measurement but one extra thread. Can get it go past the thread went putting it in am I doing something wrong? Looks exactly like your worm gear in this video
Did you try to screw it in like a bolt or nut? Sometimes you can push them in and Sometimes you can't. If it's to long you may have to just take a file or grinder and shorten it up a thread. Hopefully she'll fall on in for you. If not we'll do some more diggin'
@dubbssawshop yea I did, it's tight to the crankshaft but goes on just can't get it to thread in or seat properly. Been fight with this for awhile now ordering different ones. Think my next choice is just to place the oiler and hope it comes with all the parts ?
Absolutely 💯!!!!! China still uses 30wt oil as 2 stroke fuel, that's what they base it on. So any FD rated name brand oil will be fine, I do recommend 40:1 in the bigger saws over 70cc. But 50:1 does just fine also, but stay on top of your tuning either way and you'll be golden. 25:1 causes so much carbon it's crazy, I do not recommend that at all.
@Gary Bennett if you listen to some people any oil you run besides what they do is wrong. LoL. My philosophy is easy, non ethanol fuel and any oil at all 😆 any oil is better than no oil. I have my preferences but that's a personal thing.
