In this second part of the series, I will demonstrate how to use G41 and G42.
Try and memorize these codes while you wait for the next video.
Whether you are a manual machinist, a hobbyist or just interested in learning how CNC programming code is structured, then this video series is for you. This series will teach you all about programming language so that you can manufacture parts without the aid of CAM software.

Hello friends. I just what to thank @MarkAnderson-hq1ij for picking up on a typo on my video. At 5:20 the tool position in the bottom right corner of the workpiece should be X8.75 and Y-.25 not Y5.25. Thank you for your continued support. Have fun making chips!

@@adamtaylor999 well being 73 and a newbie I am really excited about learning all the details that go into using the machines and the tools. I never took metal shop when I was a kid. I have been glued to RU-vid videos on machining for the last 2 years. I finally got my shop set up. I got to say I think you have the best videos for a guy like me. Is there some place other then RU-vid that you teach that i can get access too so I can learn

Hello @7alfatech860 and yes absolutely. Whether you use G41 or G42 depends on what side of the tool that the material is on. So if you are climb milling around the outside of a piece of material (like in the video) then you would use G42 however if you are climb milling around the inside of a pocket then the material would be on the left and you would use G41. Excellent question! I will be putting out a few more videos and one of the videos will be a complete walk through creating a part that uses both G41 and G42. Hope this helps.
