I have a G wagon. It's Mystic blue metallic Designo . I bought it new a few years ago. It has been fairly reliable. I love the noise it makes. Also you do get a ton of attention. The other day a lady waited for me to get out of the car so she could talk to me and tell me how good I looked in it. I don`t like that either. felt like I was being watched..
dang gas is only like 6 dolalrs more than my c250 LOL but the maintenance cost on this thing sounds like my arm and leg will have to keep regenerating from being sold every time Service A & B come up xD
Hey thank you so much for this video. Now I’m even more excited to pick up a 2015 or 16 G63. I was looking at 911s as well or a sports car to daily drive but I think this is perfect. What year is this that you reviewed?
Great video. I like the Diamond-quilt interior spec on yours. My 3rd G-Wagon was a Designo Graphite 2014 G63 that I ordered new from dealer & updated with RENNTECH Tune to 635hp + 620tq. Kinda overdid it and it became too loud. Sold the car after 14 months. Been a few years since I had a G, and have the dealer hunting for a 2017 G550. I really do not care for the new 2019- generation, drove a couple and feel they lost the “truck feel” and unique sensation... what do you think?
I have not experienced the new model other than sitting in it. The only thing I noticed that I didn't like was that the doors didn't feel as heavy. The new interior is much better however.
Nice and very true review! well done. Been driving a Gclass for some time now and all is well said. One thing you did not pick up on is the windshield noise! might be good to actually detail this topic.
Nice review. You mentioned that you had many issues with the car but you named only two/three. Did you experience any other noteworthy issues? Was the gearbox not engaging related to the faulty gearbox sensor? Thanks for the review, awesome car.
Thanks very much! There were a couple other issues, a coolant smell that turned out to be a torn rad hose and also a CEL I have seen a couple times that is usually gone before I can even call for an appointment. Yes, I believe the faulty sensor was why it would not go into gear.
Nice review I just bought a 2017 G 63 AMG that has a CEL with P 0442 small emission leak code and a P0299 code The battery was changed and a software update done , Check engine light went off for 2 days, then came back I took back to Mercedes Benz , that suggested replacing the charcoal canister after a smoke test After replacing the charcoal canister and purge valve , the light is still on The car drives well , but has significant loss of power after continuous driving for more than 1 hour The car is presently at Mercedes Benz dealership , just will appreciate your insight , since you have owned a G 63 AMG longer than me By the way , the car has 70000 miles
I currently own a 2016 rr svr and planning on getting on of these - what’s the leg room like for big guys who are like 6ft 2? Plus you plan on keeping this long term or you gonna trade up soon?
My dad is 6'2 and is fine with leg room while driving. With that said the passenger seat can feel a bit cramped for him and back seat legroom is pretty bad. The SVR probably has a bit more legroom but we have spent hours in the car and don't have any complaints about front seat leg room. I'd try for an extended test drive but you're probably going to be fine! I don't keep most of my cars too long, but I have no intentions of getting rid of this car any time soon. I can really see keeping it for 5+ years at this point.
@@premsworldfamily6616 No problem man! To be honest, I liked the looks and road presence of the G63 over the SVR. I always liked the G wagon, must have been from seeing them on tv and in movies as a kid hahaha.
@@premsworldfamily6616 I think I'm going to be keeping this one for a while. I'm getting back into bikes and might buy another project car at some point but as for main rides this will be it for the foreseeable future.
Fair point….do you have your vehicle serviced by Mercedes or do you go independently? I called two Mercedes dealerships for a oil change only and one wanted £500 and the other £291!
@@premsworldfamily6616 Oil changes are done at home and the exhaust is all stock. I don't think that trans issue is a common fault with them but I can't be sure. I'd advise joining a G wagon group on FB if there are any and poking around to get a feel for the common faults.
Bruh i love your content very much and i'am kind of annoyed with my self because i found you late... and i'm a big Fan of this G63.. and i do love to know your annual budget on this car like... how much u have spend on it like getting it serviced etc... looking forward to your reply with love from india
@@CarsWithBij yeah especially since these cars come around the 30-60k miles mark, you are gonna need the money to maintain this bad boy. Ofc your car is an exception
Nice review. Although I am puzzled by the car choice since you like fast cars. For the same money, maybe a supercar will get you the same amount of attention and twice the performance.
