Him and Edu should be the cornerstone of Gilas. Edu for interior defense and rebounds while Lopez for perimeter defense. I still miss Norwood's presence on the floor for us and Lopez has the size and athleticism to fill what Norwood left.
These days, I know PH bball fans like us are eyeing on young talents who could play 3 spot efficiently and can compete internationally By saying efficiently, gusto natin ng small forward na around 6’6” - 6’9” na may dribbling skills at smooth like a guard. Kase duon tayo nasanay by watching NBA and being frustrated sa PBA But so far most of them are still developing and playing pa sa 4 Kevin Quiambao Carl Tamayo And even this guy, Francis Lopez Well, who knows.
Para sakin for him to be effective sa gilas, he should be a 3 and D guy. Improve nya lang catch and shoit niya at midrange jumper, I'm sure he'll find his place.
Tama just look at Jamie Malonzo... Hindi rin sya reliable as a shot creator (due to the same reason na hindi solid ung ballhandling skills nya) pero he's being relied on for his perimeter shooting and defense... I think Francis is having the same issue as Kobe Paras kaya di pa sila maingat dun sa status as a reliable go-to guy...
Those NBA 3nD guy ay. Before sila maging ganun sa highskul palang gumagawa na ng 30 to 20 points. Since nga NBA na sila need nila mag adjust kung saan sila magagamit at dumami minutes. Which is Defense and consistent 3. Sa depensa can guard 1 to 5. And sa offense can cut, maging open s mga side at maging secondary threat pag hirap ang mai man.
Ung capability nya mag adjust sa given minutes. At maging quality pag pumapasok. .
You said a lot but for me it's as simple as dribbling and shot control. For a high leaper like him, he needs to elevate with control and make sure his arms are stretched when going for that lay up or soft toss near the basket.
reminds me of Kobe Paras but more athletic, hoping na he can get his talents somewhere from Europe or even in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic or Brazil where people can really jump as high as him
kobe can jump but i wouldn't consider him as athletic kasi sabog laterals, hip movement, and even basic locomotor stuff sabog mataas lang tumalon si kobe pero di ko kayang sabihin na "athletic" siya
@@boboako9055 mas mataas ang one-legged jump ni kobe.. mas mataas naman ang 1 legged jump ni francis..overall mas magaling si lopez.. only weakness ni lopez ay yung lateral footwork on defense.. si kobe mahina yung footwork both offensively and defensively.. lopez can also play better within a system, even at his age..
Sa depensa siya nagsashine kasi pwede mo siyang ilagay kahit kanino, 1 to 5, kaya marami siyang playing time.
Sayang lang na foul trouble sya agad kanina but its a good lose now they see their weakness like for francis he need to step up is game in three point distance para mas maging treath pa sya at ma open up yung iba nya kasama and also his dribbling and mid range game he need to take a shot to does area wag lang puro salaksak dahil pwede masira agad career nya sa mga injury and sana madagdag din sa bag nya yung pag create nya ng own shots
New version of Kobe Paras (UP version). Better? Can't say. Kobe was recruited by Steve Alford to play for UCLA and Reggie Theus for CSUN so that speaks volumes about Kobe's natural talent. *What I can certainly say is that he can certainly try to make better decisions than Kobe Paras ON-AND-OFF the court.*
Tama yung sinabi mo, I dont want him to be like kobe Paras, di nawala ang poor decisions and yung bad shot selection, parang si Thirdy Ravena medyo mababa ang Basketball IQ. I think natututo na si Ravena ngayon since nag improve sya sa Japan ng Dahan dahan, pero tama na maaga yung ginagawa na correction kay Lopez and pag okay na sya pwede na siya mag slid back sa tama nyang position which is SF na medyo maliit.
Sa totoo Lang ang effective niya as a Role player , pansin KO Kasi ang lawak Ng court vision niya , Di man Siya effective as a scorer pero sa depensa napaka effective niya! Kaya niyang depensahan Yung mga player na mas maliit at mas malaki SA kanya, Kaya niyang mag set Ng play tsaka ang Ganda Rin niya mamasa Ng Bola, tsaka Yung Hustle niya katulad nang Kay Renz Abando!
parang paras lang - sobrang nagrerely sa atleticism on offense.. good discipline defense can easily stop this. parang masyadong mabilis sya for his own good. pero maganda starting nya.. at halatang di ballhog tulad ni paras.. he needs to model his game kay kahwi.. excellent defense with an offense that can play offball or 2nd scorer..
Laro ni lebron lopez, he cant create his own shot. more on hustle guy sya na super athletic. Role Player lang sya for now. tho may chance pa sya para mag improve kase bata pa sya.
Kung may consistent outside shot from mid range (pull-ups, fadeaways etc) and long range nasa nba na yan ngayon. Another generational talent wasted by phil. basketball.
hard to play as an sg pag di kaya mag create ng own shots this stuff starts sa grassroots mga early high-school dapat talaga dun palang natuturuan na ehhhh
@@izeizeburner , that's what I meant when I said kung natuto siya sa korea or japan. Near sighted ang vision when it comes to training and dev't.
like i said sa video, di porket kwatro ay big man na jayson tatum is a 4? paolo banchero is a 4? pascal siakam sometimes is a 5? kahit na 4, nasa perimeter parin si lopez kung talagang pinanuod mo yung video
let's not look at the position lang, let's also understand how players are being utilized and what skills they currently posses to play such position if 6'3 ka pero di ka marunong mag dribble whatsoever, sorry pero di ka pwede maging point guard
Because positions are not solely based from height. Ballungay is also 6'6 and is also playing the 4. what's similar between ballungay and lopez? can't create their own shots. pero like i've said in the video, hindi porket 4, hindi na nasa perimeter. 2023 na! most 4s are essentially just 3s!
Why would you play someone who can't dribble, can't shoot, can't create as a 3/2? And kagaya ng sabi ko, UP is training him behind the scenes to be able to play the 3 in the future. We just don't see it because development happens behind the scenes. If you know me and my content, for years lagi ko sinasabi na we should start training 6'6 dudes to be legit wingers. Pero sa case ni Lopez, he's in his 20s already, development is going to take time, patience lang talaga
