The moment between Gaara & his father is so powerful. At least he acknowledged all the f*cked up sh*t he's done to Gaara and has remorse. And I'm glad Gaara now knows for sure that his mother loved him, he now has closure on that. Gaara's dad makes Gon's dad look like a saint lol

Gaara's backstory always gets you in the feels. A mothers love and protection is the strongest and the purest form.

Gaara’s father did to him the exact opposite of what’s supposed to help Jinchuriki. Rather than fill the hole in his heart he deepened it, which helped Shukaku to take over the boy’s consciousness.

this is what you have to understand about Rasa ( Gaara father). the sand village is poor. like extremely poor. in fact it's the poorest out of the five great shinobi nations. and it's not because they don't have the money, is because their daimyo is selfish and only administers enough funding for people to "exist". because of that Rasa had to keep the village afloat by trading gold sand for economic resources, but not every village needs gold, especially not in a time of war, and it doesn't help that the daimyo frequently outsources missions to other villages because sand ninja don't have a great success rate with missions, but that's because they don't have the equipment they need to actually get the job done because they're not getting paid correctly. we know that the kazekage bloodline is pure and always produces exceptional ninja. he was trying to turn gaara into a perfect jinchuriki not because he hated him, but because having a perfect jinchuriki warrants respect and you can demand things with respect and power, just like the first kazekage tried to do at the first summit. it's not an " I'm being a asshat to my child" thing it's more of a " I can save thousands of people if I fuck over this one specific person" thing
