What have you heard about Botswana?

As a European i like this clean, calm, not to much people Defenitly would travel there

iam Ugandan Living in the USA , I have been in Botswana and iam well traveled, globally But its an African country I compare to Canada. Very calm, respects their culture with esteem, the economy is doing good, less populated, less congested, vibrant social and environmental atmosphere.implying have enough resources for its people, it’s wildlife and most of all vibrant and happy people. I sincerely would like to visit again. I love Uganda 🇺🇬, Botswana 🇧🇼. I Love Africa and its people.

Once again tight work, I was pleasantly surprised by Gaborone developing infrastructure and also the strength of there currency “Pula” I think is it name it was 13 to 1 USD when I visited; I wanted to visit the diamond mines and got a big NO WAY from the local tour guides,the Botswana national museum was under renovation when I was there, I did view there interior courtyard with the mud huts for the baños. Continued success ✌️

If u ask me I will choose my city so clean and accomodative we breathe clean air like seriously

First of all, i have visited Botswana several times and each time hoping i will get to experience the best of it but sadly that has never been the case. Botswana is generally hot and thats a huge turn off for me, i love sunny weather but its BLAZING HOT all the time even in winter sometimes, the capital city Gaborone is sparsely built which is kind of cool because it feels like a little town and there isn’t too much traffic or nothing which is what i enjoy everything else there nothin fun about it, i really enjoyed visiting cape town in South Africa though, i had a blast in cape town really, good beaches, the table mountains, the vineyards man i can’t even say it all, the best part of my trip was when i visited the eastern highlands in Zimbabwe i visited places like bvumba botanical gardens in bvumba, the leopard rock hotel in bvumba was a revelation and that mountainous region is truly beautiful, i also visited Nyanga and got to experience areas like troutbeck resort and mtarazi falls and skyline the falls are a whooping 772 meters and truly majestic i also visited places like mana pools national park in Mash west and Singita pamushana resort in chiredzi and lastly i visited Victoria falls town and i got to experience the mighty victoria falls, stayed in the big city in Harare for 4 nights, stayed two nights at Sandawood lodge and the other 2 nights at the Peech Botique Hotel.

I am travelling to Gabarone in September. So Im a little afraid of the heat. haha Im white Irish.

While at this mall you can go behind it and you'll see wild baboons. I have been going there while im visiting and feed them. They are mellow ❤ and appreciate the snacks. The streets seem to always be empty probably because of the low population and they don't market the country for tourism.

Love Botswana 🇧🇼, Visited Botswana last April coming off a 3 month tour of Africa. It was my last stop before South Africa. I love Botswana, the Vibe, the People, the love I felt and the good times peopled showed me. The Nightlife is crazy and the Botswana Youth are Crazy. Believe it or not my one bad experience in Africa was in Botswana, I was at the casino and was learning how to play blackjack on the table and this guy smacks my hand and places his chips in my area. And I instantly saw red and spazzed out. I felt so bad afterwards because the people are so cool and chill. I’m sorry but you don’t smack another man’s hands in any situation.

Did you have a hard time getting Uber or any ride sharing service? I’m looking for a place to retire on the continent, and would prefer a walkable community. Also , you mentioned ants; did you see any spiders in your place as well?

You should visit the Lion Park Resort (fun place for both the old and young) and Mokolodi Game Reserve which is just outside Gaborone to the South.

Jay can you visit Equatorial guinea, Angola ,Gabon for us? those are rare african countries BA dont visit. All 3 speak portuegese/spanish and their native african language. Also try to visit Chad.

Are you serious …. 😅 On a serious note, I have been getting the impression over the years that Botswana/Gabarone (pronounced Haparone, I think) is fairly clean, calm, organized, with a fairly educated population and with little corruption compared to other African countries Oh, and they have some awesome traditional dance competitions 😊
