The cutscenes in ULTRAKILL don't look very cinematic because it's a FPS, but what if they did? The Gabriel animations in this video are ripped from the game
It shows that his self-imagined perfection, his holier-than-thou attitude from the first encounter… that’s gone. His flaws are showing and he couldn’t care less about them. All he cares about now is focusing his rage.
@@kylestubbs8867 There's only one thing he desires now. He doesn't seek the divine respect of his god or peers, or stopping the machine's rampage across hell. The only thing he wants now, is revenge on the machine who dared to best him.
@@DoublePiggythis is literally the exact style of cutscenes in ocarina of time lol, being able to nail them without being inspired by it is pretty insane
imo there not being music in his speech works wonders at the end. it makes it seem like there is nobody else, because it was him playing that theme at the beginning of the level, and now, he's stopped playing because he knows you are there. it's just you and him, no heavy metal band cheering you on, no orchestral choir singing praise. just you and him in a deadlocked clash of angel and machine...
@@theboyfriendfromfnfreal you can't really be an apostate of hate when you're swimming in hatred, can you? You have to cest it off first, which he does in the second phase.
Being an apostle means you're the messenger of something, in this case, Gabriel is entirely devoted to his hatred, which he enforces on everything around him, particularly v1, making him an apostle of hatred. Apostasy is the act of giving up your faith or conviction, which is what he does in the beginning of the second phase, he relinquishes his anger, thusly becoming an apostate of hate. Let me make you an analogue, let's say we have a bloke. This bloke is the apostle of some deity or prophet, so he is entirely devoted to his master, and acting as his envoy, spreading the good word, so to speak. Should he lose his faith, he becomes an apostate, and by extension, so does anyone who loses faith in a religion.
