This was written as a celebration of both his parents and was considered too cheerful to be call a requiem at the time. The end is the lifting of the souls and them settling in the lap of God, Pictorial, beautiful, the most moving piece of music for me and a comfort in grieving,
When I rehearsed the bass part in college at 2:00-3:22, I felt as if the risers under my feet dropped slowly, and I could barely sing. All I could do was let the more experienced singers continue. It was beautiful.
That exact moment is such a privilege to sing. I'm a soprano and when were left suspended in mid air, no accompaniment for support, to bring in this section it's like an out of body experience. This music is divine and profoundly moving.
Dont know if you guys gives a damn but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the new series on instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my brother for the last weeks :)
+Iain Robb and Nallanyesmar: God meant it to be easy for you to come to faith in Him - take the leap of faith and you will see the Truth for yourself; the hard part is leaping :-) I only came to Christ in my 40s - best thing I ever did.
I'm not an atheist, though. I'm a believer. I'm just not convinced by organised religion. Neither in fact was Jesus, if he existed, if you read from cover to cover the New Testament.
I believe in that too, but I'm essentially a transcendentalist. I believe in spirituality as a thing directly experienced instead of something dictated by religions, which are basically interpretations of Divine purpose filtered through man-made laws.
Hereby I just pray for those involved in the latest incident, merely saying utteringly "May they live in peace ! Many condelences for them and the beloved families !
@Zephyr-hm3sp I agree - but the whole work is one of the most noble - and also humbling - of all such work. It always amazes me and becomes an earworm once I have have heard it recently! To be frank, it keps me awake at night!!!
Mentre negli altri Requiem ( Verdi Mozart, Brahms...) si accentua il tema del giudizio divino, in Faure' tutto si armonizza e si rasserena, tutto viene ricondotto sotto la misericordia di Dio.
