Oh how I wish there was a United States of Europe rather than the shambles that the EU appears to be at times. If only they had got it done in a decade, rather than the half century or so it's been so far. Although I would be in great remiss if I weren't to agree that the peace brought to the western part of the continent is something valuable, as I've been to quite a few WW1 and WW2 cemeteries for allied and axis soldiers alike.
+kingofbengland Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. (Well, no, fight to keep it from being over, then cry when it is, then get angry about it and start over again. It's a silly saying.) We've accomplished the unthinkable -- unrivalled peace, prosperity and human rights for 500 million people. Europe's under attack, but it's well worth defending.
+Enrico Dandolo Unrivaled peace? Europe is a shambles. The EU and NATO are one and the same. They caused the refugee crisis. They attacked Libya. They funded the Nazis that performed the coup in Ukraine along with the US. There is no unrivaled peace. Europe is in chaos.
Here in Ireland we're enjoying the fruits of the EU by being saddled with a €64 billion debt to save German banks. Health services cut to the bone and a special bank bail out tax disguised as "the universal social charge" costing me €3000 a year. On top of that our budget is pre approved by the Bundestag!!!!!!!
