@@ceegee2676 if anything the modifications made it less valuable. Not more. It is very hard to find the ones with that many windows. They didn’t make many of them. It’s even harder to find them in original condition. The modifications make it more drivable but probably hurt it’s value.
Kenau Reeves, when he makes Millions from a movie, he donates 75% of his income, to a cancer hospital Jay just be self indulgent and buys cars.. and stupid look at me, huge house.. Why doesn't Jay sell his Crap, and House the the Homeless Doctors , Nurses, and Teachers.. he is a wanker
@@graemejohnson9025 Good point. You can go a step further and tell people to stop spending on entertainment altogether and donate that money to charities of their choice so that celebrities won't get paid in the first place and there's not even a need for middlemen like Keanu. I mean, if Jay Leno shouldn't enjoy, why should anyone else? Right? Also, you should get off social media and get another job so you can donate that money to charity.
The baby blue one in the line near the beginning brought a tear to my eye ... I had a May 1960 camper in that color. 34hp engine until I changed it. I drove it to FL when I was 15 (I don't think they can arrest me for that now). Westphalia factory built all wood interior, 23 gal. water tank and a gas turbine heater in the engine compartment that ran directly off the gas tank. It kept us warm in the winter in Vermont on ski trips. I understand the Buzz has been available as a camper for a few years in Europe, so I have high hopes for it in the U.S. It doesn't have enough range though.
Well yeah switch on Travel Assist and the car will stay in its Lane and brake, accelerate and steer, it does a good job of pretending that it can drive by itself.
My dad did flip his 1974 VW Blue White Bus completely oh it's top spinning at the end of our block. He wasn't going any faster than 15-20 miles per hour. He had to slam on the brakes to prevent hitting another car that ran the stop sign. I loved that car and can still remember the evening we went to look at it and drove it home, decades ago.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH "my dude" the genius said that is not possible to make the buzz with a combustion engine in the front, obviously. Witch vw bus as the motor in the front?
That's plenty of horsepower for everyday driving in Southern California or anywhere for that matter.. Not sure what the fascination is with having more horsepower than you could ever really use.
"Actually, I do smell gas, it's just not coming from the car." Note to self: Don't feed Gabriel any tacos before getting in a car with him, unless it's a convertible, eh?
I have a '71 VW bus, runs and looks great. Think I will stick with that. I had a '66 21 window bus back in the early 70's when I was in the Navy. Wish I still have that one.

It is worth noting that the original VW bus 55 mph limit was due not just to that anemic VW flat four, but the 2 to 1 final ratio gearing it had in each rear wheel to raise the VW's rear clearance and to have enough torque for the size of the loads it could carry while using the standard VW transaxle and swing arms. That roll-over propensity came from those swing arms in the rear being so high off the ground when tucking under.

Haha, to think you used to go off grid with the older busses, now with the new bus you have to camp in the city near a charging point. You'll not dare going off grid with that. Very well done going backwards.🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wish they'd kept as close as possible to the old look of this van/bus. The hubcaps, the Skooby Doo vibe. That's my favorite part of this vehicle. Maybe in a couple of iterations they'll come back to that look WITH all of the modern features of this version.
Love the show! Always great stuff! Love the VW bus.. old and new... but they have to get electric cars to hit 400-500 miles real-world range per charge to be viable...(and not cost $100k)
Hybrid should be an option until they can get real USA range, 200 miles in reality is rarely going to be achievable, just like (insert number here)mpg for previous decades of fossil fuel vehicles.
Hear me out, you don't need 400-500 miles on a daily basis. For those occasions when you want to travel, you should be able to attach a generator: like one of those tailgate attachments, so that you can go for as long as you can buy gas. Otherwise, 100 miles of range is more than enough for the average commuter.
Nah. I used to believe that too. When you wake every day with a full charge, range isn’t something you think about at all. For the occasional long road trip, the fast chargers do the job.
OK, VW will be marketing a basic minivan that's also a typically short range electric. But it ain't no VW bus and it shows.. With California's known electric grid problems, it is most amusing that they want to lead the country in EV's......... until it comes time to recharge them all. lol
