Gabriel Nichols throws a round flowerpot with a rope decoration 

No narration, as potter Gabriel Nichols throws a simple round flower pot with a rope-twist (sometimes called piecrust) decoration. As with all of the pots, the clay for this is sourced from the banks of the River Humber, on the Lincolnshire side. This is the source for all of the clay used at William Blyth, as it has been for nearly 200 years.
The clay is wild - in other words, when thrown, it it has undergone very minimal processing after being dug from the ground. This wild Humber clay, is left to weather, arriving at the workshop in 50-55 lb blocks. After this, it is put through a pugmill, wedged and used.
Aside from flowerpots, Gabriel also produces bespoke tile-ware, chimney pots, bricks and more.
