This man is a pure genius .. an outstanding bandleader and incredible engineer producer. he intuitively knows sound and tone unlike 100 engineers glued to their pro tools suits and 1000 vst plug ins.

anyone else find it interesting that the 3 biggest Daptone "stars" are now dead. Sharon Jones, Charles Bradley, and even though Amy Winehouse wasn't signed to the label, a lot of her materially was recorded there, with Mark Ronson, ya know, taking care of things. sounds like the old days when record executives would find "black talent" get a band behind them, make records, have major control over the music, the artist dies, and the label goes selling their art. so who is really benefitting here?
This is really good and I really admire what he does, but does he have to go out of his way to show how underground, anti establishment and cool he is ALL THE TIME?
