Today, Ian and Mikey are joined by Martin Chuck from the Tour Striker Golf Academy. Martin is one of the top instructors in the world and today he gives Mikey the parameters to gain serious speed.
Although a great majority of golfers think that in order to get a faster swing speed with their driver they need to swing harder. Martin shows off that many players have more in the tank than they recognize and utilizes his teaching skills that he uses daily by taking Mikey through a lesson to learn how to unleash serious speed.

When Martin showed how the club moved toward the heel when the club head was lifted off the ground, that was nice to see being explained. I figured that out years ago on my own when I started using impact wax on the face of my driver and woods. While I figured it out years ago, I have not seen it shown by a golf instructor before as I recall. Nice Martin.

Great video ! INMOP Mikey's biggest flaw is that his right heel is PLANTED at impact which is delaying his weight shift and robbing him of speed and solid contact. His "engine" is his solid legs and core which is only being used at 25%. Yes Martin is correct about his swing path and MIkey has great fundamentals and hands to get the upper half to work property. Notice that the ONLY time his right heel works properly is in his PRACTICE swing. Good drill for Mikey is to swing and step/walk through the ball at impact . He should also look at a similar lower body type such as John Rahm and he moves through the ball. Cheers.

I want to say thanks to Ian, Mikey, and Martin... I watched this video and tried put this into practice on the range and on the course. I feel like I am striking the ball much better (higher & straighter, even a slight draw). I also feel like I gained about 10yds if not more in distance. Using this instruction, I actually shot par on my home course for the first time ever. This helped all the way through my bag... Thank you again...

Fantastic video & lesson. That bit about forearm rotation made my jaw drop, somehow everything I have a major epiphany, youtube throws up a video confirming it. I used to have heel side strikes and that move gave me much more centred strikes and consistency of strike too. Its like the head tracks a path to the ball inside of hand-eye coordination to get the sweet spot. Though I am wondering if we need more ulnar dev for irons (compression). Would be great to have a similar video but for irons, mid-long and perhaps even wood off the fairway.
