Wow not many people can go to different countries. Much less to serve. Thank you as well. We have been together since about last May!

Here's my testimony, I've stumbled many times. The journey has been tough, long, and still a work in progress. I've others can avoid my mistakes, the Lord is working through my vessels of mistakes. Seed of a Servant It was the year 1974, a seed of servanthood was planted into the richness of a young man’s soul. Through the weathering of storms over the next 40 plus years, the seed of service sprouted and grew in the soul of this young man. As the soul became one with this young man the storms of life toughened the heart and soul with a softness of understanding for those in need. Memories of change goes back to the fall of 1974. A part of Racine’s history was in the transition of being torn down and to be rebuilt. From the 1950s thru the early 1980s, the corners of Washington Ave (Highway 20) and South Green Bay Rd (Highway 31) was known as Mygatt’s Corners. On the south/west corner of Mygatt’s Corners was Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church. The new church, which is now known as the flying saucer church, would not be finished until the spring of 1975. Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church is where mom and dad where married and all five of the boys where baptized. Church was a tradition with mom and dad being in-volved with children’s church and youth groups as the boys grew. About the fall of 1974, this young man, being the oldest of the five boys, started to have great desires to attend church beyond tradition. There were several Sundays of the young man asking dad to drop him off at church, even though the rest of family wanted to sleep in. Through the years to follow this seed was cultivated through the young man becoming more involved with youth group activities. In February of 1977, the young man was able to get his driver’s license. With the use of the spare car, the young man was able to attend youth meet-ings and bible studies at churches his friends from school attended. During the young man’s senior wresting season he was blessed by the presence of Dan Daniels, and Mike West. Dan and Mike where former Case wrestlers and came in to volunteer some time helping with the wrestling team. Through Dan and Mike, a light of guidance from the sower was shined on the spirit growing in the young man. During the next 30 years, after high school, the young man and the spirit in him grew and was tempered by life’s experiences. The storms of life weathered him making his understanding of those bruised and battered by life stronger. It was the young man’s Sunday school teacher, Burt Blomgren that guided him towards the, Wisconsin Air National Guard in August of 1979. After a year with the Wisconsin Air Na-tional Guard, in August of 1980, the young man went active duty with the Air Force. Still a young man and shortly after arriving at his first active duty base, Offutt AFB, NE, he met a young lady and within a year they were married. The young man loved spending time with his family but, duty was always calling. The marriage was being strained. A year after their marriage the young man was assigned to a base in Turkey for one year without his family. This didn't help with having a young family of one and one on the way. One month after his second child was born he was on a plane to Turkey. At the time Turkey was under martial law. Turkey was a dangerous place and trusting people wasn’t an option. The slightly weathered young man came back home not trusting and in fear of not being in control. Frustrated with the struggles of balancing military obligations and family responsibilities a number of arguments where caused. Prior to heading to Germany, in 1989, it was a mutual agreement to end the marriage of eight years. As a slightly older young man involved with Desert Shield/Storm, the effects of war be-came very personal. On August 29, 1990, the young man lost a close friend in a C-5 galaxy crash out of Ramstein Germany, where the young man was stationed and responsible for crash clean up. Over the next 21 years the young man worked as an over-the-road truck driver for 16 years and a tour bus driver for five years. Balancing the work with the love of home life was still a struggle. There was great money in driving trucks and buses. After losing two marriages to the transportation industry the loss of family became too expensive. Through all life’s storms in this young man’s life, the Sower kept the vine of the young man’s soul fed with spirit fortified nourishment through His word. In a soil richened by Christ’s grace and mercy and roots strengthened by wisdom and faith. Branches like vessels reaching out through the soul misting the spirit inside with an endless supply of Christ’s love towards those in need. The journey of history is the vessel of life’s storms strengthening the soul with wisdom, mercy, and compassion for others and their needs. Blossoms of service are waiting for the light of Christ coming through those in need to expose their fruit.

Johan-August Steyn Well this song is especially an easy way to think of something war-oriented. That's what music does. It is powerful for us both, and not always cheerful.

Johan-August Steyn There is so much hope in these songs! They focus on the victory we have in Christ and the hope of Glory that is ours as joint heirs. I pray you can focus on these aspects.

+lindsay chaparadza -- Yep, sure is. Wish I could get into this one, but so far, I honestly miss Mark, Guy, and Mike so much, I haven't been able to yet. I miss the classic songs, so glad they are here on You Tube.. This song has the BEST message, but the music to it, it doesn't "match" the jubilation of our hearts of going home with Jesus..that's only my personal opinion...but I also hate change, I like my happy little "ruts"..so I like the other singers better.. (not that Adam and Todd are not good, they are...) I just prefer the older hymns.. The King is Coming, It is Finished, Alpha and Omega, He Touched Me, etc.. and David Phelps' singing 'No More Night'..wow! And how I LOVE Vestal and Dottie Rambo singing 'Holy Hills of Heaven"! If you haven't heard that one, you must! It's on here..*beautiful*!! Guy Penrod is doing great on his own, but I miss him with the group.. On this group here - my favorite song of theirs is 'Written in Red.' Beautiful song.. (sorry I got yakky on a yes or no answer! Lol) God bless!!
