an angel used of God, while praying for me to receive the Baptist ism in His Holy Spirit , after a concert in the Durham A G, NC, other visitors came by to talk to Vestal, I tried to excuse my self and she just held me by the back of my jacket, and said she wasn't through praying and prayed on.her music has always been a blessing to me, even before coming to Christ. years in 1974 the Happy Goodman family were in concert , wanting to go to Norfolk, Va, from Elizabeth City, I asked one of my employees to go with me, he asked his father if it was ok? He agreed to go with one exception, that I would go to his father's A G church the following day. So I went listened to the message, by Evangelists Hugh Woods the invitation was given and I didt respond, he then asked for those who need prayer? I raised my hand but didn't go forward, Ev.Woods, then came to the back row, laying his hand on my shoulder,said "God is not going to strive with you,I knew then that it was my LAST chance to except CHRIST, I went down to the alter, and came back a new person . that was 41 years ago, Praise His Holy Name I receive the in filling of His Holy Spirit a couple of years later , in three beautiful mountains of western NC. Now the whole Happy Goodman family, are worshiping there Lord as the did here on earth . Just think, we blood bought children will be singing,very soon, if the Lord doesn't terry, right there with Vestal, Howard, Sammy and Rusty.

I agree the devil would run because don't like to hear about the the Lord and visits Goodman doesn't hold back. Her singing show that.

I truely loved her. When I was a small child, and since my dad loved gospel music and sang bass himself. We would go to all night singings. As a child, she was sweet and kind to me. Miss her singing so very much.

Ive enjoyed watching Bill Gaither but never saw Vestal Goodman until this year. I can never get enough of her. What a beautiful voice. What feeling she puts into her songs. I believe what she sings. Rest in Peace, Vestal, John, Dottie and so many others that sing praising God.

Truly a very special and anointed woman of God ! Her voice is unmatched and her spirit is dripping tangibly with the love of JESUS ! God definitely gave us a blessing with this angel here on earth !

Everytime I heard Vestal, I was reminded of the "All Night Sings", and my progression into gospel music in all pentecostal churches that I have been part of the front platform. Funny, in churches that weren't pentecostal, they would always remark you can't ever take the pentecostal musician out of the musicina. Thank you, Jesus, and thank you Vestal, and Bill Gaither for encouraging the young and upcoming musicians, for they will be the way to lead the way into heaven...

i took my grandmother to see the gaithers...and, when vestel came out from underneath the stands....her voice radiated thru out the Mabee Center...and, i can still feel my grandmother hitting my leg saying...B, thats vestel...thats vestel...GOD truly blessed me to spend that night with my sweet grammy and the gaithers that night in tulsa...i sure do miss my grammy, but, knowing where she is in heaven...i would never want her to come back...but, i can at least relive that special night thru you tube videos...

Vestal has been a huge inspiration to me since I was 13 years old. I love the Gaither's and Goodman's. May God continue to bless them all. I would wish a RIP for Vestal and her husband but I already KNOW... she isn't resting in peace, she's joyously dancing in peace in the presence of God's glory and our Lord Jesus. I look forward to the day I can sing by her side in God's glorious kingdom. :) I hope she looks down upon me and knows who I am and knows what she means to me, I love you so much Vestal. Vestal Goodman and I wrote the first verse and chorus of When We Over Yonder. The second verse was written by Howard Goodman. The song was written in Flemish and translated into English by my mother. The song was written when I was in hospital in Detroit recovering from an aneurysm in 1970.

Time is drawing nearer and I don't wanna miss heaven I long for a place where ALL people are same and no heartaches or sickness and no death.

I recently learned of the Happy Goodmans Christian music. It has uplifted my spirits when I am down and depressed. I just love Vestal's beautiful soprano voice. She any many of the Gaither Vevo singers are an inspiration to me. I remember my parents listening to the Gaither trio back in the 70's. My father died in 1977 of lung cancer and my mother died in 1979 of liver cancer. The song "This is Just What Heaven Means to Me" helps me to look forward to that glorious day when I am reunited with my lovely parents and all of my other relatives. I hope Vestal is around for many more years to give a musical message of Jesus' soon return.

They used to sing in my Dad's church back in the 60's..My Ole Daddy passed away a little over a year ago..I still remember singing in church..What a different Country it was back then.

one of the coolest things i EVER did in life...i took my grandmother to see the GAITHER HOMECOMING in tulsa...and when vestal came out from under the grandstands...my grammy began to hit my leg...she was SO excited...she said "B" its vestal...its vestal...i love this song and i miss my grammy! but, today my grammy has actually met vestal goodman in heaven! how cool is that?!

I love this mighty woman of God. Oh what a blessing she is to me. Her songs have so much meaning. Hearing her sing touches every Mira in your body. So much gravy are added, you have no other choice but to sing along, weep or worship and praise the Lord! One day we will all be singing around the throne of God.

Vestal has great church music

A lot of singers, as they get older, tend to loose the strength in their voice - NOT Vestal. She sounded just as great as in the old days. A great woman of God! She lived what she sang.

Thank the Lord we can still enjoy that blessed anointed voice of Vestal's. Even though she's gone on to be with the Lord Jesus.

I first saw the Goodmans in the late 60's at Centralia (Illinois) High School at an all night gospel singing. They came on the stage and began singing and the crowd wndt into an uproar of excitement. Thanks to Cy Lowery who sponsored these singings in Centralia for years.

I remember the Goodman's when I was a child. To this day I still listen to their music. No women can sing those high notes like Vestal.

This hymn is so beautiful. It's worth it all, when we all get to heaven, all our sorrows' are gone. I've seen heaven during near death experiences I've had. I saw a golden mansion, actually more than one, I saw Gods house, where there are many mansions, I saw flowing water, Also I saw Jesus. I have also seen many angels on this earth. Anyway, I was sent back to earth, it's not my time yet, to go home to heaven. Thank God for everything. It all works out, eventually.
