Gibson USA 2017 Les Paul Traditional
www.gak.co.uk/en/gibson-usa-2...
A trip back in time to the Les Paul's golden era. A Les Paul inspired by the legendary late '50s Les Pauls, with all the benefits of modern-era Gibsons. From a distance with its Traditional features and accurate Grade-AA maple top on a solid mahogany body this Les Paul could be mistaken for a guitar kept under the bed since 1959. Once in your hand, Les Paul Traditional 2017 T unveils subtle but incredibly significant advances: rolled binding, polished frets, and a rounded neck profile make this guitar extremely comfortable to play. Wired ABR and aluminum stopbar with steel posts deliver incredible resonance and sustain while Burstbuckers 1 and Burstbuckers 2 humbuckers with Orange Drop tone caps crank out dynamic, expressive PAF-inspired tones. Put it all together, and it's a superb take on the best of Les Pauls past, made for today's demanding player. It is delivered in a classic Gibson brown hardshell case with a Gibson multi-tool, a premium leather strap and a polishing cloth.

Phenomenal playing Sir! Absolutely love your touch. Just bought one of these from 2017 in Honeyburst. Love it but dang it’s heavy! 10lbs. Cheers!

great to see that they're finally using an ABR-1 for the Traditional's! Nashville's look horrible and clunky. no weight relief is also great. pity about the poker chip, but it's an easy fix.

I've always wanted a Les Paul but I think they need to improve that headstock angle. It kept tune for this pretty well, though. Awesome playing, as always!

I have been playing LPs for decades. Currently using a 91 Standard and a 16 Traditional. The headstock thing is a common narrative, but it is angled for a reason and I never had tuning problems as long as I stretched out my new strings really well as soon as I put them on. Stretch, retune, stretch, retune, stretch, retune .. repeat until they stay in tune. Takes about 10 minutes. If it goes out much after that, well it's usually the player's fault for playing extra aggressively, but hey, sometimes we just have to go there. I always find chords in a song that allow me to tune as I play if necessary, but when my Les Paul has been set up, new strings stretched and tuned, I have played 50 minute sets without ever needing to tune. Also, cut off as much string as you can when changing them. Only wind as much as necessary. I usually go through the hole, loop around back under the string, bend the string to make a hook under the string where it enters the peg, wind and cut the excess off.

WakeeWakee Missing out on probably the best guitar ever made if your waiting for headstock angle to change - won't happen.
@change-your-perspective5448

Give one a shot Wakee. Aside from a couple bad tuners on a 75 or the occasional improperly cut nut; tuning has never been a problem for me over the years either. Stretch those strings real good and set the witness points at the bridge/nut. With a good setup you should be good to go.

@@AnAmericanGuitarist I used the same pair of strings on my les paul for 3 years. None of them broke or had any problems, and I can still shred on them all that I want. The only time they went out of tune was if I left the guitar in its case for a day or two, or aggressively bent the B string further than 2 steps, which only happens if you're playing the solo in Whole Lotta Love. 90% of the time it stayed perfectly in tune, and this was one of the cheaper gibson LP's. If people are upset because the headstock is easier to snap when you drop it on the floor, there's an easy solution and it involves not dropping your $2,000 guitar on the floor. I can't stand all the criticism I see towards gibson and their extremely precise designs.

@@jayyy1041 Yeah. I record a lot and change strings fairly often. I always like fresh strings for a gig and for recording. When I've gone into studios 3 days in a row I changed strings every night. Fresh strings really help the guitar and amp to sing. When I change strings, after I get the them all on the guitar I lay the guitar flat on my lap, tune the high E string, get my fingers under the string at around the 6th fret and 22nd fret, grab the string and turn my wrists away from each other a few times to stretch the string out and then I turn them towards each other. You have to be careful not to snap the string but I very rarely do. By this point, the string is way out of tune, so I tune it back up and repeat that about 7 times until the string stays in tune. Then I do each of the other strings the same way. Then I am good to go unless if the guitar needs the intonation set and it very rarely needs to be set (YEARS!) , but setting intonation on a Les Paul is easy and easier than on a strat, Tele or guitars with tremelo systems. There are several videos around explaining how to set intonation on a Les Paul .... or you could just take it to professional.

If Gibson call that antique burst they must be colour blind. More of a lemon burst.
@popoaggie
@popoaggie 7 лет назад
I think it's called Honeyburst. I have the same color, but the wood grain stripes on mine are smaller and tighter and it looks a little darker. Nice guitar, but I'm not sure if I'd keep the Burstbucker Pro pickups that come with it.
@TheMrturn1
@TheMrturn1 7 лет назад
I wouldn't call that a honey burst, which is more amber. That's essentially vintage yellow edges fading in onto an odd center off white.

Pissburst?

@rouschno1 7 лет назад
It is the poor lighting, that's all.
@kingstumble
@kingstumble 7 лет назад
No it isn't. I have now seen other photos of this finish on various sites and this is a true representation of the colour. Antique burst it ain't,neither is it honey burst. Piss burst is definitely the best description! I wouldn't give it house room. 'Orrible.

If you keep them in good shape, you will get your money back in 20 years. Maybe more. My 91 is worth at least $500 more than what I paid for it new. It's STILL an amazing guitar. Most other brands don't have that kind of reputation and return on investment.
@IncurZeAwperator

idk if you have ever played one of these... but they are most certainly not overpriced

Desire Awperator I own a 2016 LP HP standard while yes it does feel nice and sound good. It had a shit fret job and a terrible jack socket. again this is only one guitar and not indicative of any other Gibson. But for what that guitar is on the video 1900 is too much. 1500 yes good price.
