While many of the videos from Kira can be broken down to "Oh another web3/crypto/nft project failed, and here are the details for the 1,000,000th time", its still a good boost to the ego knowing that I haven't and wont ever fall for this crap.
Dude you are so wrong, GALA is gonna moon soon! Everyone is going to be playing... **Reads notes** Spiderbots... Yeah, it's gonna be as big as Forthnight or Overwatch 3
@@jheigl1980Im in crypto since 2020 and took me few months to learn all those shitcoins selling dreams to dumb kids. No person with brain would touch shit like Gala and call him self "investor". And yeh Gamefi is one of stupid narratives ever yet we don't lack of stupid PPL... Especially in crypto. As long you trade all this like one big speculation running on made up and dying narratives you should be fine.
You missed a bunch of content, ceo lawsuits, game lawsuits, v1 to v2 token upgrade fiasco where Coinbase didnt support it, the recent Hack where the Hacker minted 5 billion new tokens and how they used a contract edit to get the tokens back... theres alot more to dive into.
When "code is law" then bugs and exploits are law. And when one partner can rewrite a "smart contract" with no recourse for the other part, that is not really a contract... but then, who can you complain to in an unregulated "market"...
15 years ago was 2009, we got Uncharted 2, Street fighter 4, COD: Modern Warfare 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Assasssin's Creed 2 to name a few.......... man the game industry in general is not even a husk of its former self.......
Wrong lol we had plenty of good games in 2023 (baldur's gate 3 LoZ: Tears of the Kingdom, Alan Wake 2, armoured core 6, resident evil 4 remake, marvel spiderman 2. It's just with the gaming market being so huge we get lots of good and lots of bad. That's like saying modern music sucks and only 80s music is good, there is plenty of good modern music, we just make 100x more music so we got a lot more bad and good to look through, you just have to look.
@@deltascaAlan Wake 2 is a banger. There were tonnes of good games last year. You just need to not constantly look for AAA games. There were plenty of good games in 2009. There was equally a bunch of trash as always. Wheelman or Rogue Warrior anyone? We just remember the good ones and forget the dreck. In fifteen years time people will say games were better in 2023 and cite BG3 or Tears of the Kingdom. Nobody will remember Gollum or Skull Island: Rise of Kong.
@@stuartmorley6894 your standards are just low . thats what the games made the next gen think a good game is. good graphics and shit gameplay . bg3 and tears are the only ones that going to be remember in the future for sure.
@@deltasca that's a very modern way to win an argument on the internet. Just tell the other person they are wrong because you say so and yours is the only opinion that matters. I've been gaming since the 80's. I played 49 games to completion last year, plus others I bounced off. There was plenty that was worthwhile last year.
It's pretty par for the course for them really. They're just taking advantage of the hype to enrich themselves while promising a platform for monopoly money.
@@jmmywyf4lyf To give the companies some credit. Unless you're playing something like Diablo Immortal, or trying to get the "full experience" with FIFA. You don't have to take out a loan to feed your gaming experience.
@@dartz005 base games are now $70... $100 if you want the extra quests, added gear, pets, vehicles, etc.. $130 if its Ubisoft.. $250 if its Activision Last new game I bought was Cyberpunk.. I wont make that mistake again
@@jmmywyf4lyf I never said their prices were perfect. But I would much rather pay $100 for complete package, taking into account future updates, or a good mmo like ff14 & its expansions. Over a game that expects you to keep dumping money into it, because heaven forbid they don't pander Whales.
The frustrating thing about the Crypto gaming experiment is that making money in games has been known for decades: make a good game, and the money will come. Hell, even games that typically gouge the players for all they're worth like build/buy-a-team games (FIFA, NBA) typically have pretty decent games at their core. If you're going in with a "money first" mindset, you're almost surely going to fail, because you can have all the "player money-making systems" in the world, but if your game isn't good enough to attract and maintain a strong playerbase, nobody's going to be buying what other players are selling.
15 years ago we had Gta 4, assassins creed, crysis, metal gear solid 4, gears of war, dead space, cod 4. Theres nothing from gala games that even comes close to any of these games.
I love crypto brain. These guys can't understand why someone wouldn't stop playing the new Elden Ring expansion to play a worse version of those games in colorful jewel cases they have at Staples. Except Bejeweled's devs have never disappeared with the life savings of its players (unless you count Plants vs Zombies 2)
I'm pretty sure Kira meant "talking about them _positively"..._ and we all know Jauwn most certainly doesn't do that! I don't think a single crypto "game" has even reached a 5/10 on Jauwn's scoring system... rightly so.
I haven't seen Kira comment on it, but Mr. Are You Reality was threatening suit, Earth 2 itself was threatening suit, and also the Dreamworld guys at the same time. I have to assume Kira decided fighting all that just to report on dying scams wasn't worth it
its like beating a dead horse at this point. smart people know how much of a waste of time they are, and you cant change the minds of the people that are convinced its gonna be the new hotness(yet still cant explain how you will make money in it).
For what its worth I really like everything coming back to this channel and the main channel! It's easier to find / follow. Even though I was subbed to the other channels, I never got them showing up in my feed like Kira/KiraTV do!
Alright ... I was with gala, but I bailed on it after seeing so many internal problems. Mirandus has been delayed and team has been replaced. There are a lot of other games that were supposed to be made like ForeverWintr, but now that's a no go. There are lawsuits pending. Too many problems. Gala Film might do good.
If crypto game devs really want to figure out how make money off video games, learning how to do more than slap pre-built assets into an Unreal Engine sample game would be a good start.
that takes time and effort. they want money now! and really, if you can make a game that is good, why bother having Crypto in it in the first place? it serves no purpose.
It looks like there may be a legal loophole regarding steam accounts. There was a post by a lawyer suggesting the part of the TOS that states its not inheritable can be challenged in America under the RUFADAA Revised Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act. this is an interesting idea but afaik there are no cases that test it.
I used to love Gala, games, my RU-vid was all about it for about a year and I'd play Townstar (their main, and only playable game, though still in beta years later) daily. I've been keeping an eye on their goings on over the past two years since I quit crypto etc. It's such a shitshow, they're all sueing each other! @lycanwarlord does some good vids about them. The ceo had the rule of banning people from their discord if you said even a slightly negative thing about them. That was a huge warning sign!
Do you have any wall decor yet or does your building not allow stuff on walls because of earthquakes. I remember having my posters fall off during Earthquakes in Alaska. I mean my posters still fall off but only because they were in a cardboard tube for so long and naturally curl and peel themselves off the wall.
Kira, you're wrong. There ARE playable Gala games out there right now. Known crypto influencer Jauwn has made videos covering nearly each and every one of them. Go given them a watch, I'm sure you will be shocked at the quality on display.
If you hear a completely unrealistic pitch on Kickstarter and put a lot of money into it, you are a part of the problem, crypto or otherwise. At least if you start complaining once they run away with your money, which they will.
Thank you for calling out the fact that digital games cost the same as physical version. I'm absolutely in agreement that digital versions of a game should be cheaper, since there is no need to print physical discs, pay for shipping and infrastructure, or pay for shelf space in a brick-and-mortar store. Thank you for calling this out.
Looks like they were taken private ((( Sad as they were one of the best sources for the project's history. Generally it seems like a bunch of old videos on main channel were privated (((
Probably a bit awkward to have around given that Earth 2 is still, surprisingly, going strong and none of the predictions of doom and rug pulling have come true.
@@JustMonikaOk Going strong, lol. The project's subreddit is basically dead with occasional posts from bagholders complaining about not being able to sell their digital "land" or withdraw money.
@@IdleCommentator I've never checked the reddit, but the discord seems as active as ever, without any withdrawal related issues and plenty of sales taking place.
I don't really understand your point of view, shiba inu has only one game, no music, no film or anything else, and they have billions....why so much hassle on the gala?
6:51 very common fallacy based on nonsense tbh. If everyone's own imagination was key, we would not need books, let alone movies. The very point why storytelling is so incredibly, _extremely_ popular is precisely because we love to be told story by others that are so, so much better at it than our own imagination. It's not just that they are so much better at storytelling, it's that they made a giant effort to tell their story while in our head all we do is think about it while we consume the story and then maybe a bit afterwards, not just a trivial amount of time compared to the months, maybe years the professionals have painstakingly crafted their stories but in ours heads we also never engage nearly as deeply nor as extensively with these stories. We _consume_ them. As such it should be fairly obvious that the little bit of our imagination we actually use on any given story created by others cannot ever live up to the huge amount they used of their own imagination for such a long time, paying attention to a ton of details most people don't even notice directly and only notice as part of the whole they don't pay much attention to but which give the story much needed finishing touches. In fact it's often these details that give a more tangible shape to story elements to make them less shapeless and more detailed in our imagination and not actually our own imagination because all we do is try to make sense of the information given in a story and we really very heavily ion such details. E.g. I have a somewhat basic idea how Cormac from the Agent Cormac series looks like really only because of the descriptions of the author, I'd have no idea at all if not for the descriptions and my own imagination would not have had anything to really latch own because to do so we'd have to spend an amount of both time and effort far beyond what we normally do when consuming a story on the level of what people only do when they create their own story to create a non-vague image in our mind. The fallacy is that movie adaptations of books are often unpopular but has literally nothing whatsoever to do with imagination vs reality. It has everything to do with people trying to cram an entire series of books into a single 2 hour movie and cutting corners everywhere while condensing the story so much that is barely recognizable and while also bending it way out of shape for the new, different target audience and because as a Hollywood movie certain things can and certain others things cannot be done for the sake of of popularity, at least according to studio bosses that look at movies _very_ differently than the audience or film makers and try to force a movie that could be good and make a good chunk of money to to make a LOT of money, regardless of how much this will reduce its quality. This is just an issue with studio bosses and shareholders caring only about money and not at all about quality and has nothing to do with imagination. The _only_ time our own imagination is better than that what others, master storytellers, have made is when you create your own story, world, characters and imagine them to be awesome because this is no longer based on others' stories but entirely your own. Of course by its very nature this must be unrelated to what others have made (or just your OC, do not steal) because this is the only way you are not heavily relying on someone else's storytelling because as long as you do, you can never begin to match their effort ad imagination without pouring just as much into your imagination as they did and the only people that do that are not even your average fanfiction authors but those that go really deep and make a huge effort for an extensive fanfiction project and even then only for the parts they added themselves. As long as you consume someone else's story, their words will always weigh far heavier than your imagination because they tell the story and you just try to grasp it.
I do not think twitter is an accurate representation of any community, sadly that is what most people see in the mainstream, the influencers that stick their tongue out getting angry at projects because they're not being paid anymore. I would invite you to play Champion's Arena but I probably do not even scratch the surface to get your attention, which is sadly who you should be talking to. People who actually play these games.
Blizzard definitely has experience or had experience creating polished games but Activision/Blizzard is far too concerned with live service, they have made that aspect of a game the priority so the games themselves now suffer and I buy no more Blizzard games. I did not buy Diablo 4 and have stopped buying Wow expansions. I had some of the best gaming times of my life in Wow but that time has now passed.
I agree about crypto people not understanding games or what makes a game fun. it's also really difficult to point out or convince them that something is awry. I guess that's why they're good targets for money.
The truth about physical is half here Kira. You omit one important one. Overheating. Main reason the video games, especially on pc went digital was due to overheating the further technology of games improved. By some point it demanded better vents. Well to have better vents you need more space in your pc. Which pc's don't have anymore, the only available space would collide with cd/dvd driver. Which you need for physical versions ... We also can talk about one game asking to have 5 dvd's to just install. That is case of GTA V. Bigger games ? They would take even more dvd's. At some point games for pc in particular, demanded so much space and were so hardware heavy with heating that the physical HAD TO go. Whether we like it or not, it had to go for hardware reason. It is true for your take about 'they don't want you to rent games' and culprit is right over there with Steam. However what I said was primary reason why physical on pc was gone for so long. And yeah I agree with you, people should have gone after Steam for whooping long time ago. Law also should have gone after both big IT companies AND Steam and it's online store ilk alike.
a lot of that five dvds is unoptimization. same with the heat being created. there are games that look the same as others yet will melt a gpu due to the game being unoptimized.
There are a lot of less demanding games though, it's not all just shallow 4k hyperreealistic HD texture 500 FPS orgies. Me peasant is fully okay with just 60 FPS most times. So if overheating really were a big part of it then I guess blame elite PC gaming masterrace chads for maybe being obsessive about the wrong things.
6:39 oh you very much can. Like that guy with his ms paint drawings of the game console he'd like to "make" on kickstarter or even at the ultra extreme end the Saudi government with their fictional new Line city that is in every single aspect just as delusional as a crypto guy promising 10000% returns, there is a point where imagination becomes unrealistic and then one where it becomes obviously impossible and while an unrealistic idea can be bent into shape and brilliant people working on the issue might even be able to make it real, the impossible stuff some people imagine and then try to sell to others to get their money are so obviously delusional that you can tell from the very beginning that it's all nothing but a giant pile of bs.
Pretty sure it's long dead, & the Clowns in charge ran off with the money they convinced people to give them. Just another typical Crypto Clown promise that went nowhere.
