I honestly feel like The Day Before was one of those scams that went too well; it had so much money and attention invested in it that by the time they tried to dip, the bag was too heavy to run off with.
@@kevadu Mostly due to the attention they garner. Every day, crypto wallets get hacked for $10,000 USD but no one hears or cares because there are 10 hacks of $10 billion a day at this rate
Hell kira mentions in this that this was their usual scam method. They just vastly over estimated how much people wanted a detailed zombie game. State of decay is technically what the day before offered in alot of ways. Its just not as polished as this was advertised as. If the company that made it released a 3rd game. With updated tech and graphics. It'd probably grab the audience the day before tried to scam

Dude...that character model on their twitter is literally Frank Stone. From the very recent Supermassive/DBD game The Casting of Frank Stone. Its hilarious how they're still doing what their devs said caused a huge problem. Seeing a new game they liked and attempting to add things they liked about it to their own game on a whim. Its so good.

kinda is in this case. They moved to discord because there they have the power to silence any detractors to only keep the dumbasses. Isolation is the first step to manipulation, it's part of the grift.
Honestly those devs blaming youtubers for their game failing is so laughable. Id like to sit them down in a room and show them all the videos they released in order and then the game they released and have them tell me with a straight face that they didnt fuck anything up.
Steam refunded because it wasn't like a "request a refund" thing, it was a forcible refund and removal from people's steam accounts which is really only something that can be done by steam.
Step 1: Take free assets from the asset store Step 2: Raise some money and buy premade assets from the asset store Step 3: Make "Trailers" using those assets that has inconsistency and show no gameplay at all Step 4: Lie saying "we never used free or paid assets" step 5: Release a "Gameplay Trailer" that isn't gameplay trailer Step 6: Release the game and come to find out those who bought the game realize it's a scam Step 7: Steam see's you are scamming their community and shuts you down Step 8: Blame everyone else about the scam game that you made. and tell everyone the reason it's bad is the streamers and youtubers Step 9: Rebrand and make a new game just to scam more people since the first time it failed Step 10: When it doesn't gain traction go back to blaming everyone that the reason the games funding isn't doing good
The reason they're convinced people really want a Prophunt "spiritual successor" is because, like, two or three people left replies on their tweets about Escape Factory last month that they liked Prophunt. Not joking around or memeing or whatever, that's seriously what happened.

When they say "we are getting lots of inquiries from our fans about the new prophunt game" they are lying twice. First : nobody really gives a toss about the new game. Second : the studio has no fans. It's just that some people miss Propnight. It was halfway decent & did have a few fans. All of whom despise the studio with a burning passion.
So they gone, then they back, then they gone, then they back, then they "For sure" gone.........and now they back. This anime with "the day before" developers will never end, and Kira, I"M ALL FOR IT. Continue the video sagas on these guys. xD
After a week, I'm still trying to animate doors that actually work. Day 1: Door opens, flies off the hinges, smacks player in the face. Day 3: Opens & closes... at the same time. Now a high-speed revolving door of doom. Day 5: Finally opens and closes, but only when it feels like it. Day 7: Victory! The door works... until it doesn't.🤣
I posted in their discussions for escape factory an overview of all the scammy shit they've done i got banned for a month for speaking the truth. If anything this proves they are still trying to scam...
Thing is with second chances they have to do well....good things before coming back with the begging bowl in their hand, though with what i gather its less a second chance and more like a 5th or 6th chance lol

before i watch the video, the very first thing that looks odd to me is their (new?) logo that looks suspiciously like the twitch icon. atleast in borders and overall design.
It's funny how some people will go "this negative attention only brings us more sales!!" and then when they fail turn around and go "it's your fault we failed!!!"
I swear they only decided to keep going with a different game after the kickstarter failed because a lot of people were asking for another prophunt game on the discord. There's an actual audience for it unlike the fall guys inspired game. That poll is sus but I stalk the discord and seems there's a cult following behind their previous prophunt game.
I was waiting for this video the SECOND I saw they pivoted from Escape Factory to a new prop hunt game. Insanity that people still keep feeding into them. What a fun story to follow. Love your content Kira, keep up the good work.
its easy to get that poll's results. Just send a poll to 100K people. Then only publish a pie chart of the people who responded. The real pie chart is probably "99% did not give a **** enough to respond" respond, less than 1 percent said they'd like to see this game. If a poll doesn't tell you how many people were offered the chance to respond....its being disingenuous (like pretty much any poll ever used to argue for a case).
People like this are wild. To have no shame or awareness of how people see you. I can't believe they are even trying, they were embarrassed on such a massive scale.
Won't that be a fine line coming out with a propnight 2.0 without having the licensing or ownership of the ip? Essentially having to start from scratch with non of the assets or anything previously developed?
This is flipping hilarious, but one thing I dont quite understand is the opposite side where people are making videos on them Like what do you want them to do/expect them to do - off themselves? Seppuku and beg for forgiveness? I'm genuinely curious here, because im looking at this from a psychological pov, it seems like just from this company, every one of them are now ostracized from life itself

This is not milking it, this is bringing the scammers the consequences they deserve. If they really have improved and are now ethical they will have no problems with having more eyes witnessing their improved behaviour.
