Hey Kelly - a bit surprised you didn’t mention the Missha essence, this is been my go-to for a while and I know you talked about it in previous videos. Is this no longer a favourite of yours?
I'm in love with Galactomyces too! First one I tried was the some by mi toner & I LOVED it (also contained vitamin C.) I've used Secret Key's & now I'm finishing Manyo Factory's Essence.
I'm a new subscriber and this is my reaction to the first product in this video. "I wonder what Kelly calls expensive." Clicks link in the description box. "Oh dear God!" I think I also called on The Virgin and a few saints.
Thank you for this great video. I have just been reading about galactomyces so this is so timely! I am a little concerned about your right hand. You are always applying the product to your left hand. I hope you are treating your right hand just as kindly 🙂
Hey Kelly, great video as always 💕 I wanted to mention the secret key (which I also didn't appreciate much) has a rose version which actually includes a high percentage of galactomices.
Yes! I just commented on that! On the package it doesn't list any plant extracts or butylene glycol, which both give me closed comedones, so I bought a bottle. I'm really hoping the rose version will be good for my skin, since all Korean toners and essences I've tried have broken me out in some way. I just love how a hydrating toner feels!
@@kendallstark4302Have you tried the Pyunkang Yul hydrating toner? O M G that one is so good. it is a little bit thicker than the watery toners but it soaks in so quickly and leaves your skin hydrated and soft but not the least bit sticky. It really surprised me in a great way. ♥️
Secrer key starting treatment essence doesn't contain dimethicone anymore but it still has arbutin, atleast in my newest bottle. The texture is kinda watery but atleast my skin absobs it very well and plumps it up. I'm soooooo happy I found it in my life and on my face 😊❤️!
Have you tried Numbuzin No. 3 serum? A combination of Bifida Ferment Lysate and Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate Serum. Several RU-vidrs praise this product.
Bifida Ferment Lysate is the active ingredient of the iconic Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum. On the other hand, Galactomyces Ferment Filtare is the active ingredient of the famous SK II toner. Both claim good for anti aging. So by using Numbuzin No.3 you can get the benefits of those famous skincare? 😀. Anyway, it’s said Numbuzin No.3 Skin Softening Serum.
@@Andrian415 I bought it recently and was disappointed because it has cetearyl alcohol and 3 strong essential oils inside (Rose Geranium, Geraniol, Citronellol.) The whole essence reeks of citronella. After using it I could feel my skin dehydrated and irritated.
I just reordered Secret Key (Rose) which I loved, and saw that the ingredients were changed, most notably, the 1st ingredient is now water instead of galactomyces. I am sending it back and ordering the Scinic. Thank you so much for your channel and information…. Priceless ❣️
Holy cow yet another thing I want. I’m going to have to put another closet in my bathroom for all the serums, lotions, potions, that I am adding. I’m overwhelmed. Currently I use five or six serums/toner/essences before I even get to my moisturizer. I have a feeling that I am kind of over doing it and so many of these products might not be necessary. I think I would love to find two or three products that would do the same thing as all the others I use. I’m afraid to get rid of one of them because that may be the most important one🤦🏼♀️, so I just keep adding.I’m not sure if you are familiar with a new product called one skinI saw an interview with the creators on Pen Smith‘s RU-vid channel. I recognize everybody’s skin is different I’m 74 I don’t really have dry skin with my new one skin I’m finding my skin is reverting back to when I was much younger as far as not being dry, so now I have to try to revamp my regime. This sounds like something I’d like to add in. I’ve recently just purchased the Sukoyaka Suhada and I’m adding that in
I want to try the SK II treatment one day. For now I just use the affordable alternatives. Have you try the brand Numbuzin's No.3 toner and serum? Both of them contain Bifida Ferment Lysate and Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate :D I see a lot of Asian beauty channels rave about it
Hi Kelly! Great timing on this video as I am looking at buying a galactomyces essence. I am curious as to your opinion on the Scinc Prestige First Treatment Essence & how it compares to the Son Reve, as the ingredients seem similar.
Don’t know if anyone will read it because it’s been a while but I loooove the Scinic Prestige essence and no one seems to be testing it/talking about it! I’m not even half way through my bottle but my skin has become so much more firm, supple, and soft (and it’s hard for me to notice big changes as my skin is in great shape in general). I am just so impressed. V curios as to how it compares to SK II and always trying to find reviews but no one is talking about it, just the OG Scinic essence which is now apparently quite watered down. I am planning to do a comparison with SK II at some point, when my wallet can handle it 😂
i really agree on the effects of the cosrx essence! it was my first galactomyces product and what i noticed when i first started using it was a skin that just seemed healthier and more easily hydrated, but nothing too in your face. but then i ran out and it felt like my skin was missing some very important assistance. also, although i know it's not a first essence, i really like using it like one. there's something about the gel texture that kind of disappears in your skin that works very well for me on slightly damp skin, and i feel like it's like it brings a structure for my skin to absorb the toner better, i can't really explain it
@@sabahatkhattak1084 i apply 2 pumps on my face after i wash it and pat it dry, and i use a watery toner (usually the make p:rem one) after, and then an essence /serums depending on the day and what i need and my moisturiser and sunscreen last
Have you tried the numbuz:n no.3 skin softening serum? It has has 42% bifida ferment lysate and 21% galactomyces ferment along with other good ingredients.
I found this: Galactomyces works on controlling sebum secretion. Also, it has a gentle exfoliating effect on our skin. It will clear away dead skin cells, the top culprit of clogged pores. In addition, it contains antioxidants and vitamins that help improve skin cell renewal and collagen production. It says that you shouldn’t use it along with vitamin C one should be used day and the other night.
When it comes to fermented products, how long after using will you know if it causes breakouts ? I don't have acne or acne prone skin, I'm just curious is all. I don't care about products that cause purging, TBH I get excited when a product causes purging lol I know its working.
It doesn't contain the galactomyces strain of yeast ferment so it doesn't technically fit this video topic. I haven't tried the 5x tweaked version but still love the 4x!
How do you feel bout the purito brand? Compared to the scinic? Rather than brightening. Im just looking mainly hydration, softening, repair, thin/layerable, and soothes/treats.
So one of the K beauty influencers said that you should use your toner first and then the Scinic first essence so I have been doing that. Today I am gonna follow your recommendation and try the Sconic first. 😎♥️
What do you think of the original scinic essence compared to the scinic prestige essence? Looks like the prestige one has bifida combined with it. I'm thinking of purchasing the scinic prestige one over the original.
Don’t know if anyone will read it because it’s been a while but I loooove the Scinic Prestige essence and no one seems to be testing it/talking about it! My SK II has lasted me years though. My first bottle, I bought it before the pandemic. I would use it constantly like 5 times in a week. I still have about 1/4 of it now.
Skin care products, after opening it, it should last usually for a year. After that it is not good anymore for use I think. A few years for an opening bottle? Iam not sure if it is a good idea to even put it on your face.
@@blee8607 I would have to agree with the other person who replied to you. No one wants to play fast and loose with their skin care health. You’ve been fine, and that’s great, but you might just be lucky. I know it’s an expensive product and it hurts throwing any away. Also, check the expiry date given. It’s usually on the box and they usually get tossed. The website should also have information on it. The Ordinary does so I would hope SK II could afford to print an extra sentence in the description. As for me, I note the day I start a product and the day the brand advises as expiration. Just be careful ✌🏼
I loved using secret key fermented galactomyces essence 9 years ago haha. Used 2 bottles. And just stopped using it with no reason. Right now, I'm just going back to use it. And want to try the cosrx one. Haha
I was very surprised to hear you talk about the scent; my SK11 doesn’t smell like anything whatsoever! My skin has never looked better since using it, I was shocked that it lived up to the hype. I am going to try the other mentions and see if I get the same results! Thanks for the video!
I usually put my vitamin c on first right after cleansing since it is a low PH....should a first essence go before that? This is something that confuses me which is why I don't use a first essence.
Maggie, that's what I've done in the past. First my vitamin C serum and then a toner or essence. I just want that antioxidant to go on directly in order to get all the benefits 💖
@@kendallstark4302 yes, that’s why I do it that way too. I wait 15 minutes ( brush my teeth, do the bedroom ) to let the low pH of c serum stay longer ( when you put immediately something after c serum the pH goes up). People always asked my why I do it. In the night routine In the nights when I want repair my lipid barrier I also put my face oil FIRST , and then I put some barrier cream. It’s definetely more Effective way- if you put toner , water serum or any moisturizer first the water part In it simply blocks oil you put afterwards on your skin… it just can’t build In correctly in your skin , just lay on the top of that water…
Maggie, I think you just have to wait for that to soak in. My vit c is a very watery texture so it sinks right in. Now tretinoin you need to take the 20 min. She does always say that a first essence preps your skin to receive and help the next product you put on penetrate better. So I would just try both for a month at a time and see what happens. I put mine on bare skin, just like my tretinoin. Just my thoughts 🙂
If you look up, there are sources out there that say fermented ingredients are not acne prone friendly for some people, not much less for those who are prone to fungal acne.
Hi I have acne prone skin ( not fungal acne thought) which is extremely sensitive ( alcohol, perfume, essential oil, rose water, witch hazel.....) but my skin looooves it. But anybody can be allergic to anything...
Hi Kelly thanks for your video, As a Male who like to take care of their skin, also don't like to stack up all the products on my face. Do you recommend essence or Serum, lotion or cream? My skin is combination oily skin. Thanks
Oily people can use any of those. You just need to get a thin toner or a thin essence. Oily people usually like the gel type moisturizers over a thick cream. She always shows the textures of all the products she talks about. Just my two cents 🙂
I tried a few Galactomyces products and it actually did nothing for my skin at all. I tried 5 or 6 ones because EVERY beauty-youtuber raves about it, but with my skin??? No improvement at all over months.... I am very fair and my skin is normal and for me Niacinamide is working way better.
4 how I see it either u go SK2 or use other strategies: it's like ginseng, either u go Donginbi etc... or you leave ginseng alone. It's like truffle and mushrooms, both mushrooms but not the same thing. A u say most galactomyces toners contain b3, b5, arbutin, adenosine etc and are brightening because of that. There are many approaches to brightening and most of them are available to all budgets.
@@magpiesneedle2575 Yes, I have. Scinic is really on the dry-ish side, quickly absorbing and meant to prep the skin for further steps in your routine, while COSRX is a mix of toner-serum-essence that has a thicker consistency than simple water (like Scinic) and way more hydrating.
Some of these are thin like water. I have the secret key rose one very watery. I had the cosrx one (just finished it) and that one is more like a gel texture. I have normal skin, but I would say watch the video and pick a light one. She shows all the textures of them. 😊
Thanks for pointing out that plant extracts can potentially irritate sensitive skin. That Secret Key essence is definitely not for me, but their *rose* version caught my eye and so I bought it. On YesStyle there were two or three plant extracts on the ingredients list; however, when it arrived, there were none on the package itself. Weird, but now I'm more excited to try it. Will do that once my vitamin C serum runs out.
I haven't tried that one so I can't speak to quality but it's not going to be 100% pure galacomyces but a 100% compound extract with galactomyces, water and preservatives. It's kind of confusing but Korean labeling laws are actually phasing out this kind of marketing!
Maybe cosrx just because the texture is easier to use, with purito that slight oil feel might be difficult if you are just getting started with layering skincare. Both are good products!
Thank you so much for this. I love Galactomyces but because of Covid and brexit I have found them more difficult to get hold of cheaply. I was really saddened that the Missha was reformulated for the worse yet again. 😞 Have you tried any other and especially in mist form please? Kindest regards, stay well and take care. 💙🙏🏻🕊🌞
I think she has a video on mists but I don’t know what kind/s as I haven’t watched it yet. Go to her home page and search mists, or on regular search put in her name and mists.
I bought a try-me bottle of Key Secret, unfortunately it breaks me out everytime. It could be the plant extracts - thanks for highlighting this Kelly. I've been put-off to buy essences but now I will try Scinic First Treatment Essence! 😘
I saw a serum from Ma:nyo which includes galactomyces and vitamins, I wonder what it's like. I've used some Galac. products but they made my skin oilier so I gave up 🥲
I have this Manyo Galacto Niacin Essence and I love it so much! It's lightweight, like water, soaks in so fast, leaves no sticky feeling. It's hydrating, no moisture. But what's important is that my skin is looking so good, so healthy. Brightening effect - definitely. Sebum control - absolutely. Very satisfying product. And good and short ingredient list. If I could choose just two serums it will be Manyo Galacto Niacin and RNW Ceramide serum. My holy grails.
