Amazing review man, nice mentioning the fact that pro and pro 360 use different levels of wattage. This was an extremely crucial information that will help me make my final decision
I use this for clip studio everyday and its increadible this really replace wacom studio. I do wish it has a smaller bottom bezel and atleast a dedicated gpu.
I have last years model and can say that it is not really a tablet if you are using it in your hands. On a desk or lap it is usable as a tablet. But that is really stating the obvious and people will buy this knowing if they can make the most of the tablet part. I would probably buy the non-360 next time though. I would say they are well built, and I was lucky as I didn’t get a wobbly hinge. If you spend time to tweak it, even the Book3 Pro 360 16-inch can get 8-10 hours SOT , enough for the majority. The main take this year is ARC Graphics as it has caught up with AMD and the M3 base GPU after three years of a subpar Iris Graphic iGPU. It is premium so expect MacBook/XPS/LG GRAM pricing. It is not a mid-range like ACER so although expensive, it is comparable with premium ultrabooks. Has to go on any shortlist.
I have the 16 inch book4 pro 360. I believe the laptop/tablet is very solid. The screen is wonderful. That being said I am really regretting buying the unit as of now. The issue for me is two operating systems, windows and android. Getting the two to integrate is very difficult. The s pen works great with the samsung apps, but I need the trackpad for windows programs, that is, to simply copy and paste from a samsung app to something like word does not work. The pro 360 is beautful, but there is a steep learning curve so beware.
This laptops are really good but the screen doesn't last more than two or three years. I have their first Flex and it just last 2 or 3 years because of the thrash hinges. I still have it because I paid 300 for a newer screen but is not worth it. I bought now the 4 lets see what happen.
Heyy, seeing that you've had experience with multiple gens. Did any of the screens Crack on you randomly? I was just about to purchase the pro 360 4, I want it bad but I'm worried after seeing a bunch of complaints about the screen cracking and lack of warranty help.
@@brickthagr8871 I decided to buy something else bro. I don't trust Samsung laptops anymore. Plus I'll give you an example. I bought two days ago the Lenovo Legion 5 that have 10 times better specs than Samsung for literally cheaper price. Paid extra $320.00 for 4 years of extra warranty of any kind of damage and if they can't fix it they replace it. Samsung won't that NEVER. I suggest you think twice before investing in Samsung. Because their laptops are expensive and the price doesn't match the specs you should get for the price. If you are looking for a laptop put always a warranty because hinges is a high probability that might be an issue after 2 or 3 years. I hope I have answer your question
I am totally satisfied with the laptop, I wonder if maybe instead of my 16 GB Ram version I should rather take the 32 GB version. it is shared RAM. Just to be future proof and higher specs maybe easier resale
We didn’t even get an option of 32gb in the U.K. or I would have taken it. 16gb is certainly enough for the majority of users but I run VMs etc on my system
Most regions ATM only get 16GB. That may change. If you have the 32GB option and can afford it, then you can never have too much RAM, so I never say never. But this is an ultrabook, so no dGPU, so 16GB is probably enough for the target audience.
@andyH_England that's true, there is hardly too much ram, does not harm and can only be an advantage.. better safe than sorry 😂 if we already have the option in Germany
Anyone's getting hot? Am just watching RU-vid video and fan flares up. Its on balanced and optimised battery mode.60% brightness, with approx 10 chrome tabs open.
Hello Dave! Do you think other laptops will ever be able to match a MacBooks battery life alongside a good panel and components? I know that their battery life is the gold standard and is what everyone wants for their laptop but I have not seen one reach it. Is it because of panel choice, CPU using too much power, both, or something else? Would it be better to use AMD components? Would love to hear your opinion and anyone else's if they have an idea too. Also, I love your videos! Keep up the great work!
hello mate, AMD were making good strides in battery life then last year they made a big leap in performance but lost battery life! ATM our only hope is the new snapdragon chips but then we need to use ARM version of windows which I don't think is ready for prime time yet! (though I haven't tested it for a while) I would just be happy if M$ could sort out the sleep issues, I am not sure what they do there!
There's a few videos on the web WinARM. It's ready alright. The translation layer is almost as fast as Rossetta. See Gary Explains. Just need Arm chips in the new laptops but news this week.. They aren't going to be cheap. Samsung Edge 14" Arm..16mb with 512sd =$1800
air m3 is better in battery life, no fan and video exporting due to built in encoders. This is better for 2in1 functionality and pen use, screen, gaming and heavy use due to fan
@mashittech In Belgium there is also no Co-pilot button on the samsung's azerty keyboard :'( Only Ctrl ... where the co-pilot button is on the US version...
You mention more powerful devices on the market for the same price. Can you give some examples? Preferably ones that wont see an update here in the next few months like the surface.
@MashITTech i would prefer something with a similar beautiful screen, 32gb of ram, gpu doesn't matter if it's better. 2 in 1 would be great for versatility but not a necessity. Just want to know what currently competes with this at a lower price point thats low enough to leave the samsung ecosystem and the free s9 fe that comes with it in my region.
@@MashITTech Any alternatives? im thinking of mainly sticking with godot and 2d development. Possibly 3d stuff down the line at some point. I really want to like this laptop as the 2n1 seems like it could be of some use with drawing and modeling. Looked and im not sure there are any laptops that fit the 2n1 with good, if any, dgpus.
Hi@@MashITTech, yes there were several reports among the world, David Tomlinson has one for example. Samsung says this is not covered by them and it is user fault, although it isnt.
people say this happens because the heat of the notebook get in touch with the screen as soon as you close it and because of that, the thermal conditions make the screen shatter
@thirasgooo that makes so much sense! I was wondering why it would "randomly crack" I was thinking about car windshields and figured it had to do with a temp change or something but didn't think hard enough on how that could happen lol so you would basically need to let it cool down before you close it to avoid that issue??
I personally prefer the standard 4 for extra power but I am the world’s worst digital artist so the pen part is wasted on me. Plus the standard 4 is £100 cheaper
@MashITTech good points, I ordered the 360 @.1799 from currys here in UK as you get a free tab s8 ultra with it. The standard pro 4 wasn't in the same offer sadly.
@@MashITTech thatswhy i purchased Galaxy Book 4 Pro for 1080 dollars with ultra 5 125H. I was using 2016 acer laptop with ips and 60hz and many people can make fun of me that why i purchased Samsung instead of 8GB 256GB MacBook Air 13" M2. I don't wants 60hz, i don't want IPS LCD in 2024. I got huge discounts. Windows laptops are providing overall package.
@@MashITTech BATTERY LIFE is pretty impressive because jarrods tech did MacBook Pro 14" and Zenbook 14 2024 1080p RU-vid test in 200 nits. Both have same BATTERY capacity but Zenbook got 11 hours BATTERY LIFE and MacBook got 12.45 hours of BATTERY LIFE. So we can say Intel has almost MacBook level of battery LIFE.
there is but you need to remove the plastic feet. As I am not keeping the device I didn't want to damage it especially as its only the SSD that can be changed
