Thanks for the honest feedback. I try not to put in the adverts but the money we get from RU-vid is getting worse and worse and it’s a struggle to keep the channel going. I am trying to find other ways to make ends meet so hopefully there won’t be any more ads for the time being
Too many issues when compared to the Lenovo Yoga 7x or Surface Laptop 7 15-inch. Those 2 don't have the power setting limiting the power for the GPU and CPU.
Thank you for the comparison. I am undecided between the 14 and 16 inch version. The screen is the reason for going with Samsung. You said the screen is glossy. I compared this video and your other video about both Surface devices. Could it be that the screen is glossy but non-reflective? Just compare the speaker test scenes or whenever you keep the devices in an angle that your shirt could be seen. To me, the difference is like day and night. Am I correct?
About the Adreno GPU being reviewed by many as underwhelming. This argument seems to be mostly about not being able to play games on these laptops. But what about heavy web application usage? I'm talking about having 50 Chrome tabs + Figma, Slack desktop apps open across 3 Windows workspaces. Occasionally my current laptop (2021 XPS13) gets very slow with Chrome using 90% of the GPU. Since there is a native Chrome app for Arm, would these laptops handle this type of load better?
The difference in typing sounds is VASTLY overdone. I swear if you did a blind test the vast majority of people would have no fucking idea which is which.
Bro I paid over $500 for this June 2023 on kickstarter. Since December 2023 they are not updating us or responding to emails. I have filed criminal complaint with Hong Kong Police for fraud. If you’re not involved please do the same and file Police Report because they used you and I bought it because you recommended it.
I'm a bit late, but I got through 2x Razer Blades in 2021, within 6 weeks for *each* for different issues. First one the screen went, second one had power issues where it would perpetually switch between battery/AC mode, causing non-stop stutter. Replaced with an Alienware that worked flawlessly. This was for work - I've just bought a new M18 R2 for me personally based on my experience. Would never get a Razer Blade again. FWIW - Dell were charging £400 extra for 64GB Ram (up from 16GB) and another £200 to go from 1TB to 2TB. I opted for the 1TB 16GB spec and bought my own 2x32GB RAM kit and a 4TB NVMe drive - saved £350 in the process and got 5TB of storage... The prices are _stupid_, but its user-upgradable.
I was looking around of some laptop cooling pads for my Lenovo Legion 5 Pro, cause during summer temps get a bit too high and bumped into this pad. The price is a quite high but for the results I think it's quite reasonable. Thank you for the review!
Great video! Extremely helpful. Could you please let me know how you were able to increase the ram clock speed? The laptop seems to be limited to 4800 Mhz and has no option in the BIOS to tinker with the clock speeds.
Who games on a surface (Intel or not) lol. That is not what this is for. I own an ancient Surface pro 3 which still runs (I do not know how) and a gaming desktop. Each device has it's own use and the point of a surface is super portable and long battery life for airline trips, watching movies, doing work in a small surface etc. This looks like an excellent replacement for work/travel/fun where my desktop is for gaming. If you want a space heater with +700 watts and BIG GRAPHICs get a gaming desktop with a 4090. You can't fit that in a tablet. Review it as a business tablet. Not a gaming machine
Thank you for the review. Bought the elite, 32GB, 1TB Surface laptop but think I am going to return for the plus with 16GB, 512 after watching your review. Just not worth the extra 700 USD for my use. Also, getting a lot of ghosting on my screen.
I have the 2022 Surface Pro 9. Would upgrading to this 2024 model result in performance boosts? My Surface Pro 9 has a lot of lag when it comes to file management and using Microsoft Outlook.
Commenting after a year of actual use. Razer Blade 16 The machine itself is good. What you should review more importantly than the panel is the speakers. This is because in the case of IPS panels, the speaker is a more expensive device than the panel. The Razer Blade 16 is only backed by a one-year warranty, which is quite a gamble for such a premium laptop. This is because the Razer Blade 16 is not very durable. And Razer's warranty is one of the worst I've ever experienced from a manufacturer.
Hey man how this can be achieved in PBP mode ? Picutre by picutre , because my Samsung monitor has it but it doesn’t share the keyboard and mouse. I was thinking to purchase hdmi matrix and then attach kvm switch to it, please help
Can you do a test upgrade for the Razer Blade 15 [2022] with RTX 3070 Ti and Intel 12900 CPU? You had made that one go up to 64GB of ram before, but how about we test 96GB now?
I did watch ArtisRight, who does photography workflows, and he says to avoid the Surface Laptop X-Plus. Its performance could be better across the board. I expect issues with the software and drivers, but I would not recommend that the X-Elite is the better choice for every photography use case. The X-Elite destroys it in photography, but the Macbooks are still well ahead. If you are sold on these wait a few months and see how the land lies, but in real-life tests for creators and photographers, MacBooks still win on performance. As for battery life on X-Elite, 4-6 hours doing mid-high workloads from what I have seen, 7-9 hours on multitasking, and 14-20 hours watching video. But the latter is misleading; watching Netflix on HDR will full volume, that 20 hours easily becomes <10 hours. This is in line with the M3 MB Pro battery life. Easy to recommend for light or office use as they have good battery and performance, even on the X-Plus is overkill. But diminishing returns from there as we get to different user cases.
I got the surface pro 11 with 16 GB 512 GB storage and it’s working great I’m really impressed so nice to have a windows laptop that you can use for anything
